As a Canadian alot of us would gladly accept new immigrants as all of us at one point or another was a immigrant unless ur native but we have a social standard of living since forever and for a while it seemed like immigrants were fine with that but this new generation of immigrants would really love to see our country turn into theirs despite a lot of them seeking asylum or a better life here its ridicules to think anyone who's white is racist when all they wish to see Canada as it used to be with immigrants that respected and valued the countries norms

Good journalism, both sides being presented here, the reasons why it happened, the stereotypes. While I don't really have a strong opinion about Brampton being mostly Indians, I do have an opinion that Canadians should condemn other areas as well that are majority of immigrants. Vaughn area is filled with Chinese people no one makes a fuss about it. They ain't speaking english, they aint serving American junk food everywhere, yet Indians are a problem. The community has vices, but justifying xenophobia with that is awful. European descendant people came here and took over native Canadians. Can't think how it must've felt for them. That was unarguably way worse than the current immigration system. My point being its a problem against a specific community is not really being uncomfortable for the sake of the country but purely out of spite and racism. I can see the concerns but not when they stereotype every Indian.

I agree with over percent with what the white women said at th e beginning.. The part that she actually does have to hear and accept is the truth..Her ancestors were and are colonizers, those are basic truths.. But the Government must turn the taps down on immigration right away, it is totally out of control.. It is mind boggling the rapid changes and that's from every single nook and cranny of this once beautiful country you will see new immigrants.. There are places i went to as a child with my folks, where you would never have seen nothing but white people, maybe a few native people, a couple of black and oriental folks and that was it.. Now there are car loads of east Indians running around some actually living in those communities.. I am not a racist person, but that's my own observation on the ground.. Canadian that spent 16 years in Japan. I went as an individual. I stayed as an individual. Married a Japanese. Came back to Canada for a pension and can't wait to leave. I were in Japan and if I saw a group of Canadians arrive expecting Japan to change for them, I would have been severely pissed off with them. Every other country and normal immigrant that came as an individual or individual family probably thinks the same way I do. No one in any country likes to see "Mass Immigration" and even Japan these days are looking at an influx of half a million Indians and who knows how many more Africans. This will change Japan and they'll turn a good culture into their shitty culture and I'm not happy with that. I liked being one of few. Yes I had American, Canadian, Australian, Kiwi and British friends as well as Japanese friends. But we were all individuals that adopted the way of living in Japan into our everyday lives. If I go back, I don't want to be in india. It'd be like living in Brampton. What pisses me most is the attitude of that muslim guy. Yes you are out breeding us but not all majorities rule. In Malaysia, Malays rule despite being the smaller population. They have more Chinese and Indians there but they have to live under the rule of the native Malays. So you will have to do the same in Canada despite if your population is larger. You adapt to this country. The country doesn't convert to accomodate you. Individuals are key. I am Native American. At college, I took a welding course just to break the monotony of classes as I was raised using my hands. This immigrant male, asked the rest of the class "why is she here?". I asked if he had a problem with me and he looked at the class to tell me not to speak to him. No one said a word but looked between us in silence. I asked him again, "do you have an issue with me being here?". Again he told the rest of the Caucasian men to tell me to stop speaking to him. I said if you have a problem with me, let's step outside and one of us will walk back in. You can't accept that a Native female is in this class, pack your family up and go home. Don't think of the state's because that's mine too. The teacher walked in and he could see and sense the tension in the room. He removed the immigrant and they went out of the room. A few minutes later the instructor came in and looked at me and said he'll be taking a class with no females. His country doesn't allow females an education yet alone a trade. You're welcome to stay. I have no intention to leave, was my comment back. I'm here to learn. Decades later, I'm driving home from northeastern Quebec and on the 401 is a gas/food stop. My child and I were passed by 4 luxury sports cars. They pulled into this stop and parked across all the handicapped parking spots. Bumper to bumper across the spots. We went in and met them as we came out and met a truck driver of the same nationality. He asked "how is Canada treating you?". They smiled and said "look", motioning to their silk suits. Another pointed to their cars. And another said "they treat us like kings'!". The fourth said "Canadians are easy to play! Cowards!!" A few days later, I'm at Walmart and present my tax exempt (we pay 5% tax) but the cashier looks at it and states "you all think your so special!!" Your paying the tax like everyone else! A customer behind me yelled for management loudly. When management showed, I didn't say a word because it was the customers behind and on the side of me with complaints of the rudeness of the cashier. She was removed and manager took over transactions. Not just mine but those after me. There was another incident with my child. An immigrant (can tell by the long tunic) was trying to lure my daughter away from me. I put her in a cart and requested help from a young employee who wanted me to write a book before calling security. Another employee came over and called security immediately. By the time they found the man, he had exited the store and got into a taxi. A few weeks later at an arena where youth hockey practice was taking place, the same scenario was happening. A man in a tunic was trying to lure children away and when caught, jumped into a taxi and left the scene. To attack an adult who can defend themselves is one thing but to go after children is another. I say stricter policy on crimes are needed.

The issue with Canada is that, when Europeans came here, they didn't integrate with native Indians, didn't accept their traditions/lanuages but brought their own European culture/traditions and languages and named it as a Canadian Culture. The reason why Europenas were able to take over the whole Canada and impose English and French language is that European culture was strong, then brown/black/asian people are moved to Canada and they are brought their own culture/languages, but the brown culture really stood up and sustained because their culture was strong like europeans and more of them are still coming. the history is repeating itself because of politicians in power. People on the both sides are not willing to listen the other side, for example, citizens think that international students are creating the a here, doing cash jobs but they don't see that this coutntry that charged them $9k/term tution fees can't even provide them a job forcing them to work illigally and commit crimes, and on the other side Internation students think that citizens hate us because they are brown but big NO citizens are frustrated because they have no jobs and immigrants are not integrating themselves among other communities. Higher unemployment = higher crime = more = higher division among people, ALL THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS ALLOWING.

Canadian native indian ! Or French and British thinking they are more Canadian ?

I'm a Brampton resident. My family immigrated in the late 90s. I grew up on YTV, TVO kids, Fox Kids, Treehouse TV. I also still grew up knowing my own native culture and religion. I attend one of these temples of worship. Despite this, I still made friends with different races of people. I think my community needs to branch out a little more and learn about other cultures that live amongst us. Maybe we need to have a little less pride on where we come from? I don't know what the exact answer is. One thing I know is we can definitely get along. Just need the community to adapt more and actually learn Canadian culture. Maybe go see a Blue Jays game at the Skydom? Maybe know who Wayne Gretzky is?? LOL.
