Indians what the heck have you done? It's just the genuine ones that suffer. I'm an Indian too, fought to the skin of the tooth to secure Masters admission, paid over 50k CAD in fees. Was genuine in my effort & was able to secure a good job and I still have this ick at the back of the mind that I might be seen with disgust because of how tarnished our reputation is of lately, despite trying my best to contribute my fair share to the society, to this beautiful country. I’m a Canadian Jamaican and I don’t recognize the country. The people coming in lately are hostile to the place they seek support from. It’s ridiculous and bazaar. I’m seeing so many places for rent stipulating that they outright prefer or are seeking Indian. I’m not white but I’m tempted to post an ad for place to rent and say it’s for for white tenants just to behold what happens. I mean we have never witnessed such conduct in Canada until these #&? ckers popped up. Even the prior immigrants are stunned. I’ve been working since 78 and now a senior but when I try to get help for housing I’m offered a night only shelter with mental and drug abusers to go try sleep in or the sidewalk or countless apologies. If I could put apologies in the bank, I would be rich While the former Marriott 2minutes up the street is home to all kinds of refugees. Don’t get injured, get any older or anything like that and unable to work in this country now as you’re much better off passing away.

I agree with the comments of the immigrant contributors. You come here for a better life, that’s why you left your country. Now that you’re here, you refuse to integrate with this country’s rules and way of life. You bring your religion with you and that fine BUT, practice it in your places of worship and not force it down our throats. I came here 40 yrs ago and adapted and never had a hand out by the government and just worked but lately all I see are new immigrants not adapting or trying so I can see why all the resentment against immigrants.I unfortunately have to say Indians and Arabic culture doesn’t want to conform to their adopted country so we have to limit these group.

As a brown guy who is born and raised here, not every brown person is Indian. There are Guyanese, Trinidadians, Sri Lankans, Bengali, Nepali etc people that are in no way related, linguistically, culturally or religiously to people from Punjab that have been here decades and respect the land, the culture and learn English. The majority of the mass migration as of late has come from one state in India. Many are good people, but many try to make Canada the home they left. Too bad the rest of us south asians and west indians are painted with this broad brush.

Damage is done and by the time it is fixed which I doubt it will, it will be too late. Assimilate into a new culture, not bring all your conflicts to Canadian soil, and try to take over the country and transform it to something else nobody wants.
