I’m Canadian and watching this pisses me off more about them because they come into our country and commit these sorts of crimes. They shouldn’t be in our country at all, but it’s so easy for them to claim asylum. There’s a government app that when you come to Canada, Indians can just claim asylum on the app. Enter in some basic information. And they’re in. It’s absolute bullshit man

I always find it absolutely nuts and hilarious that people with ethnic names like OLIVEIRA try to call out others that "shouldn't be here" LIKE DUDE YOU GO HOME TOO! 😂 I CAN'T BE TOLD TO (Go back where you came from) AS I AM FBA FAMILY BEEN IN AMERICA SINCE THE 1720'S! The minister was probably chosen specifically because she was inept and wouldn't know what was going on in her department; that reduces the likelihood that anyone would be turned away a while longer. As Lorrie said - just like my Political Science professor pointed out almost 50 years ago - immigrants largely vote for whoever was in power when they arrived in the country. A very large percentage of the people that they bring into the country under a Liberal government are likely to vote Liberal. That's a (practically) guaranteed stream of new Liberal voters to replace the old Liberal voters who have become disillusioned by the Liberal Party's actions. It has to stop. We need to vet EVERYONE who comes in and we shouldn't be giving them gold-plated health care until we've granted them refugee status or permanent residency and they should be told that up front so no one is shocked or feels cheated. If they know that and still come, they'll know what they're facing. If they choose not to come, they've made an informed decision.

a few years back Brampton had a mayoral election and one of the people running was this guy John Sprovieri and he received and email complaining that a white man should not even be running because white people no longer have any business planning Bramptons future. He replied saying that people of all backgrounds want to come because of what white people built" he was sanctioned by the government for that comment and he was touted as a racist from then on. No comment was made about the indian woman who said white people shouldn't be allowed in the government in a Canadian city anymore. Last time I was in Brampton I was told to go back to my own country because I asked a group of indians who were playing indian music from concert volume speakers in a residential area at 1 am to turn it off. I don't think you captured a small fraction of how bad it is in Brampton.

Its really annoying, why dont indians and anyone from different countries not try and make their own countries better, yes its sad people are born in poorer and run down countries but they shouldn't be allowed to just up and leave in the millions to any country they want too

When a person moves to another country to live and work, shouldn’t the person supposed to respect the culture and tradition of the country and not flaunt theirs to disregard them? I agree with the these people's comments regarding the immigration issues. I've been Canadian for over 50 years and this is the worst I've seen or experienced here in this country. Why are we as major tax payers are forced to finance the lives of these people who are only here to take from us, not give back in any way for us who supported them coming in to feel it's been a good decision made by our government, from our pockets. They do also bring their war, stealing, lying, scamming with them, creating more division with us who were living peacefully before. There's so much more that I see and experience now, that makes me want to leave, and it shouldn't be me who leaves home for others who have no good intentions.

Why ?? To build the base for Khalistan movement in Canada against India (all this being supported by the West while India cries its lungs out) 😢😢😢. Canada becomes a mini Punjab for the Khalistani terrorists/sympathisers. The Punjabi culture takes root courtesy of the Khalistanis - brings in more migration. Fast forward to today, the movement is now a tsunami with people from Punjab moving in large numbers. Why ? Because of the Khalistan movement, Punjab got destroyed economically (it was the richest state in India) as a result people are forced to move out. And the best place is their second Punjabi 🫣🫣 ie. Khalistani homeland Canada.

As someone who grew up in Brampton, I don't have much to say other than its crazy that international students think they shouldn't pay more. That's literally how its like in every other country. If you don't want to pay more to study in another country, go study in your own country and immigrate later.

Just asking how the indigenous people felt as a minority because of influx in f Europeans. And how does the Pakistan people assimilate by wearing hijab and demanding halal at every food joint. I don’t support illegal immigration of India or Africans. I don’t want to pay for people’s hotel room who came here on fake refugee status. But we shouldn’t only target only one community. Please check which community has more kids for ccb and comes as asylum to every western country. And the Indian students who came probably didn’t get a chance in Indian colleges.

As a person living in India, my appeal to the Canadian people is don't let "asylum seekers" from India into your country without proper vetting. Legal migration of skilled labour is one thing you shouldn't be looking out for. They're already westernized. What you need to look out for are those that immigrated illegally. Please deport them, honestly. A lot of these self declared asylum seekers are people who've commited serious crimes here in India and running from the Law.

I'll lay it out for you: Me: typical middle of the road liberal oriented Canadian. Non white, immigrant (I wasnt born here) I worked in a Refugee housing for over 4 years in Ontario. Most were not war areas refugees (Yes I know there are other types of refugees). I only encountered few refugees from war areas. ONLY 1 person from Iraq, about 2 families were from Afghanistan, 1 couple from Pakistan(I doubt they were real refugees they spoke fluent English, maybe political refugee), and a most from African countries. Its too far for real refugees to get here. Its Easier for them to go to other countries nearby or Europe. MOST SEEM TO BE ECONOMIC REFUGEES. Most were coming from Africa. Some are coming from Latin America, which shouldn't be happening. Once they showed up at our doorstep and we processed them into the system, they were immediately in the same class as a Canadian resident homeless person if they were making a refugee claim. We get money to house and feed them (from the government), and they are given a stipend for basics from the government processed through the Social Assistance/ Welfare system (they get less than a resident/citizen I think.). They then have to get their case processed by the refugee board, and most seem to get in. I've only heard of few getting sent back. One person I know at our facility, was given a subsided social housing apartment after a year in our facility. So they went straight from a shelter to a government/city owned subsidized apartment. (Didn't seem like it was a issue for the housing worker...they didn't report it (if they were not the ones that helped the person to get it), they were white, the housed person was Latin. This refugee claimant, and then month or two new Canadian resident person was given an apartment in a prime area of the city, instead of the 1000's of Canadians, those who came before them, and born Canadian citizens on an extremely long waiting list. How this was allowed to happen I don't know. The person was probably sucking on someone's straw. I'm just trying to think the barriers these people have to go through to get a job here. We are far removed from the time of the 80's and 90's., and housing and jobs are so hard to get. Lol the "Canadian government asks them to repay the traveling cost to Canada if they are sent back"....I wonder how much the government recoups?.....more like 0 probably. What a bunch of crap. How do you demand someone to repay their flight cost when they get back to their country?

I am also an immigrant, I came here from Guyana (I am Indian) in 1986 when I was 13 years old, so I grew up here and me and my family adapted to the Canadian culture and love it. I've called this country my home for the last 40yrs and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. We live by the rules and laws of this Country as all other immigrant SHOULD. I hated it just as much when new immigrants come and try to impose their culture and way of life on us then complain when they meet resistance. It's simple, if you are planning to go live in a foreign country and you don't like or think you can handle the culture, then you shouldn't move there.

Mass immigration is a horrible thing. It ruins culture and countries. Failed countries need to be held accountable for their failures. Their homelands need to take care of their people. Too many people come to the US and probably Canada definitely the UK. They get there and then expect the country to conform to them and their culture and that’s not right. People that move to different countries need to conform to that country and shouldn’t be allowed to be a citizen if they can’t speak, read and write that countries language proficiently.

Permanent residentency shouldn't be an option for anyone. It's like that in many other countries. If an immigrant gets involved in serious crime or t*rrirism they should be immediately deported without appeal.
