Only my heritage is Indian (4th generation in Australia - my great grandparents came here) so obviously I present as one. Why is it so difficult to have reasonable conversations about this? You can also acknowledge that early immigrants and their kids are often completely American/Canadian, from their native language, accents, education, references etc. And that Indians are generally a low-crime, high-employment, high-tax-paying immigrant group. And we ALSO acknowledge that that’s changing because of the type/number of people coming in, and the financial and political incentives which support it. It causes valid resentment. Not everyone is like that in my experience, I'm not from brampton but I'm sikh and I have sikh friends who are white and indigenous as well. You clearly saw that from the interview of the guy and his wife who was an RN, they passed the exam fair and square but I feel like his lack of understanding of the English language didn't get his point across right. The point he missed was the quality of life is higher in Canada, In India it's way easier, the cost of living is way cheaper, there's tons of cheap labour to hire maids for all your house work for example which is common in their culture, but as you've probably seen online, India isn't the cleanest or friendliest place to be, and if he was a nurse in India he would probably be broke without a good job, and having the opportunity to find good high paying jobs in something that Canadians also do when they travel to the US if a position in their field isn't available in whatever local city they grew up in. The main issue stems from international students from like after covid, regardless of country, India is in the spotlight because there's just more indians compared to other countries international students but its all the same stuff, you have kids from all over the world that might not have learned the same cultural practices, fresh 16-18 year olds living alone for the first time that have to do all their own chores and don't even know how to take care of themselves in some cases or do laundry or anything like that and it doesn't mean they were illegal immigrants or anything, just that they never put in the effort to learn because they were too entitled, its the same with entitled kids that go to Korea or Japan from north America as well that don't learn their culture and customs and misbehave because they are too entitled, and once you understand that you can see the bigger picture more clearly instead of just defaulting to racism. Also I'm not saying they can't be frustrated, its frustrating for everyone, even for me but racism isn't the answer.

While the White Skins were busy profiteering from the misery of the natives, Indians shared knowledge, power, wealth, education and lived by ancient cultural values passed on from generations that have survived disasters, wars, misery and greed.

My only problem with immigrants is that when you are in another country, you should conform to that country not try to make it a replica of your former country. I walked into a house that I wanted to lease. It was of course rented by Indians and some were still living in there. The owner wanted almost $4k per month. The moment I stepped foot inside the house, the stench was so powerful that it nearly made me vomit. I initially thought it was just the entrance, it got progressively worse the further in I went. Bathrooms were unclean, there were stains all over the walls, rotten food around, dirty shoes and clothes thrown all around, damage to just about every corner inside of the house ... I walked out. The next day, I went to see another house on the other side of the city, thinking it's more on the outskirts and it looked slightly better on the outside, same exact situation and I was ironically asked if I was "Indian because I can get a discount on the rent", I walked out. The blatant racism and disrespect was nauseating. I was raised that it's not permissible to exit out of your house dirty let alone not cleaning up after yourself. I was raised to be fluent in both official languages. I'm not seeing any of these norms happening anymore... if anything, it's the complete opposite.
