Very good report. The labour shortage will only grow as the population gets older. The Trudeau government tried to deal with it but may have gone too far. The Carney government is scaling back but eventually the reality of the labour shortage will dictate the direction. Is it dividing the country? Not sure but there are definitely two camps with business supporting immigration.

these governments allow it to happen because these are the type of people they can and will pay less for the same amount of work.

The government must take action on immigration laws. Especially focusing on local people welfare.

So what happens to the people that get all of these services and they feel it is an entitlement until their last child turns 18. I thought government assistance is to get you on your feet, not support you until your last child is no longer eligible for services.

For the last decade, Canada has been aggresively trying to boost its population in order to avoid a population collapse among native born Canadians in the next 20 years. Demographics are destiny. Governments need people to support the economy and tax system. You can’t have economic growth without population growth.

Just to be clear, federal government and IRCC make decisions on our refugee system and it has doubled since 2017, spending over 2.5 billion in taxpayer dollars. Now it's costing us nearly 100 million to remove them. All while homelessness population has doubled in Canada over same time period. Forget the figure heads of the parties, don't forget this when you're deciding what party to vote for

In my opinion it makes no sense that the government does not know where all these people that are missing that are to leave, if they are getting money from tax payers or health care they have to know where they are to receive any of these benefits

I have said it multiple time. The flood gates where open after the 2021 elections when the NDP<>Liberal government was formed.

And yet, liberal government got elected for additional 4 years. Canada voted for this. No point to complain about it now.

I thought it was interesting how you point out Trudeau's policy changes, but don't point out the prior PM(Harper) removing the 6 week vetting period on TFW's and other anti-labour moves that also vastly increased immigration. Despite the government not properly integrating people or providing services for our own countrymen, this immigration has also staved off demographic collapse by several decades.

Trudeau needed to be in the government. The only way to do that was to get support from Jagmeet. And that meant helping Jagmeet win, which needed the import of Jagmeet's voters! And the results are there for everyone to see!

I am emigrating to Canada as a permanent resident and I'd like to weigh in. You have to have $12,200 before you can arrive, you don't get government funded healthcare for 3 months or other benefits. I agree with this policy
