I completely agree with the man at 2:06. We are all expected to assimilate with the culture that we are staying with. This is expected throughout the world. It should not be any different in our hemisphere.

What a surprise 😮. It’s taken this long to figure it out ? why didn’t you just look around?? Plus look at who is filling the majority of the Canadian government jobs and what community they belong to. 😮 no no that wouldn’t be possible!! would it!! Maybe you should be doing a better job at supervising the government employees. We all know that the expectations are those of just having a warm body to work in the Government and not ask any questions, all else is secondary.

With the price of homes it was expected a long time ago that crime would explode. Even people with jobs are having a hard time to get a home. And the really good jobs like pilot, surgeon, long shoreman. Are really hard to get. Its no wonder crime is up. If the government doesnt address the price of homes or help make it easier to become a Surgeon so that we can be able to own a home. Crime will continue to tick upwards pretty sure. 70s home in Vancouver 4 bedroom is 1.9 million unrenovated old carpet old fixtures etc on a tight lot can easily see into neighbors house since its so close.

If your taxes are going out of country than you should not be expected to pay taxes than!

Why because you don't have money and source of increasing GDP except immigration,Look how everybody was complaining about students influx now all the colleges are crying for funding,More student bring more funds and more taxes to the government for developing cities like Brampton ,Only problem is vetting that need to done properly,can't expect higher low wage worker to build silicon cities in Canada.High skill professionals are the need of the hour.

My sister was going to immigrate to Australia from South Africa with her family. They expected her to be able to take care of them for 5yrs, have a certain amount of money to do so. That wasn't a problem as she owned a medical supply company and was a registered nurse,trained in Canada, worked in Florida for 5yrs. The only metric she didn't meet was age, she was over 45, rejected 😢

All international students are required to provide documents and statement letters in their student visa applications to prove that they intend to return to their home countries after their studies. The only thing that is expected (not guaranteed in any way) is a post-graduation work permit to give them a chance to acquire Canadian work experience and have enough points to apply for permanent residency if they choose to. The government should only be responsible for those who were already selected and approved for residency before changes to the regulations. All future applicants should be evaluated based on the latest changes. That is not new, and all current immigrant citizens had to adapt to the changes to requirements back in their time as well.

Immigration is essential for Canada to survive.. but... it needs to be a reasonable, controlled intake. Global situations have pushed Canada to take more than they could manage. We don't need to stop immigration, just get control of it again. Also, yes, people coming in need to become Canadian... if you come here it's because you expect it to be better than where ever you left... so you need to embrace what's here, not try and change what's here to whatever you left.

This is the problem: Temporary workers are temporary. Their arrangement stipulates that they work in-country for a number years, and then return home. Yet, many temporary workers are under the impression that they're actually semi-permanent residents. That's why they invest so much, expecting to be able to stay indefinitely. It needs to be made clear that temporary means temporary.

Were they not expecting their temporary visas to be temporary?

What do you expect look at our immigration problems Canada is bringing in so many immigrants that they do not vet. Also our errogant superior attitude is hurting our reputation and insulting theie president doesn't help. Canada is not the same country it was over 10 years ago.

No big deal. If you've really travelled anywhere else in the world, there's more stringent and expensive measures when crossing into other countries. We're in FL for the season. Not a problem driving over. Took @ 5 mins at the inside counter with maybe 2 minutes wait. The CBP folks were polite. We did the i94 online before, so they took our finger prints on a small scanner and took our picture matched to our passport photo. We gave them our destination address as normal and how long we are staying. We were informed of our expected exit before date. If you have Nexis already, nothing really different that what you do now, just print your i94.

If buying a house is the only requirement for citizenship, wouldn't a large portion of the global population be eligible for U.S. citizenship just by investing in U.S. businesses or stocks? This perspective may seem illogical when looking at it from outside the box. Apologies for being a bit wordy; I had much more to say. Nonetheless, I also support temporary residency for up to 6-9 months for those who have been evacuated due to war, natural disasters, or similar circumstances. Special exceptions can be granted for families with members working in critical fields that merit such considerations (high-end industry).
