What do you expect look at our immigration problems Canada is bringing in so many immigrants that they do not vet. Also our errogant superior attitude is hurting our reputation and insulting theie president doesn't help. Canada is not the same country it was over 10 years ago.

Not this Canadian, I’ll never step foot in the USA again for as long as I live, nor will I buy anything made/ grown in the USA. My boycott is a little over a year old and it gets easier every day

🎉IRCC has discovered excessive abuse and fraud in the immigration system. Immigration is federal and they have the absolute power and rights to enforce the laws to cancel visas. The immigration system was abused and in a complete mess. Every country must fix their own citizens or country problems first before bringing in foreigners to make it worse. Mexican and Canadian visitors entering on a B2 visitor visa and staying longer than 30 days or traveling beyond 25 miles must apply for an I-94. Biometrics and photo is taken. It's been this way for many years. Really nothing really new here. Just enforcing the law that has been in place since 1996. Known as the 96 Act of the INA. I am a retired INS Inspector and spent 17 years on the San Diego/Tijuana land border crossing. I put my entry stamp on thousands of I-94's.

These immigrants were scheduled to leave anyway. They were well aware of it. So, it is not based on new immigration rules. The government tried to force too many people into the country, causing a spike in housing prices and many other problems. This then affected every Canadian. A lot are becoming even poorer. It is one of the reasons they had more tent cities and 2 million people going to food banks along with 2/3 of Canadians with only 500.00 a month after all monthly bills were paid. That's 2/3 of Canadians. The Convoy had released these figures over a year ago at CPAC. This immigration rule is not being enforced the way the government claims. IRCC is still handing out temporary resident visas—student visas, visitor visas, and visitor visa extensions—too easily. They’re approving 1-year visitor extensions, then another 6 months, and sometimes even another full year if someone applies again. How is that stricter than before? It’s not. The government is misleading Canadians when it says immigration rules are tightening. In reality, it’s becoming more lenient, and it’s frustrating for those of us who follow the rules, pay taxes, and contribute honestly to this country.

I’ve been traveling the world for 22 years most all countries and setting up what’s called biometrics. It nothing new. Just new to Canadians.

It's getting more and more difficult to want to go on a nice trip. Between the long line ups to enter the countries, filling out paperwork, being treated like a criminal at the border it's not worth it. I can remember crossing a few years back before COVID my stomach would do flip flops waiting in the line and it should never be like that

This is perfect step from USA. When you say "Canadian", you need to understand and admit that the composition of "Canadian population" has changed substantially over the past few years. I wish Canada also takes enough security steps before getting influx. It is not the country where from you come, it is who is coming. And, if one has clean records, what should one worry?

If there is a labor shortage in essential fields, Canada can offer long-term residency to those who continue to work in those sectors, such as caretakers. However, the pathway to citizenship could be lengthened or require a higher standard. For instance, the requirements could extend from X years of living in Canada to X+5 years, as well as passing a basic Canadian citizenship test, either written or verbal. While an increase of five years may seem unfair or lengthy, it is essential. The investment in home buying as a pathway to citizenship has contributed to the housing crisis, resulting in numerous empty homes in various regions. While it may offer short-term economic benefits that some politicians favor, it is detrimental to Canada as a whole. If buying a house is the only requirement for citizenship, wouldn't a large portion of the global population be eligible for U.S. citizenship just by investing in U.S. businesses or stocks? This perspective may seem illogical when looking at it from outside the box. Apologies for being a bit wordy; I had much more to say. Nonetheless, I also support temporary residency for up to 6-9 months for those who have been evacuated due to war, natural disasters, or similar circumstances. Special exceptions can be granted for families with members working in critical fields that merit such considerations (high-end industry).
