Even as an Indian, the whole situation is insane and astounding to say the least. Hindu Nationalism has spread its roots & conducts marches in Canada within the Indian Hindu areas like they do here in India and people have started performing river aartis as well (communal prayers to worship rivers) — all kinds of pernicious identitarianism is festering there. A ton of Indian immigrants now see Canada merely as a source to better life & resources, but relate to, & are patriotic towards India or assert their rawer religious Sikh or Hindu identity due to lack of any assimilatory pressure & absence of a well defined Canadian identity. Funniest part is Indians, esp Hindus, who vote for hindu nationalists ushering majoritarian policies in India, cheer for persecution of minorities and justify caste system, suddenly co-opt liberalism & decietfully use its talking points to defend their position as a minority in places they migrate to (they do not believe in so, and don't apply the same standards to themselves). If you wish to blame someone, blame the govt of Canada and its elites. At the end of the day, they wanted cheap manual labour, and opened the gates without much consideration.

Watching from Kolkata, India. In my city and surrounding areas, we have illegal immigrants who are mostly Muslim Bangladeshi. They dont assimilate, hate Hindus or non muslims in general, do illegal stuff and busy in converting and reproducing so that demographic change can happen and it has happened in many districts. The government is helping them to gain vote banks. I completely understand them. Even in India we know the people that went to Canada were shady even in India. I proposed hiring a team of individuals from the Muslim community, Chinese community etc to brainstorm on how to get their message across that if your an immigrant your best to vote conservative because the liberals don’t care about them they just want their vote. Show them how they may never own a home, how their kids will be worse off than them. That buy bringing in about 2 million more immigrants a year it is causing inflation and the affordability crisis. I believe if you can show these immigrant communities the truth they may consider voting conservative. The biggest problem is they come to our home to escape a hell in their own country. But then they try to turn our country into the one they ran from. They try to change the ways we who were born and raised here are aloud to live our lives as we always have. My first job ever was tim hortons. Now im watching teens unable to gain independence unless their parents i Know someoneone who can hire them meanwhile no one can understand the person taking their order at tim hortons...Canada is to expensive now and we dont have the means to support these people anymore. My apartment complex was taken over by Immigrants and they hated me for making bacon and eggs in the morning they conspired against me and had me evicted I lived in a car for two weeks before I found an apartment and now my rent is higher and I can barely afford it... living in canada is going to get worse for canadian and the immigrants our taking our country they only hire their own when they get in a position of power in their line of work... and the cost of living is getting higher because the landlords know to increase rent when the international students come here

As a Sikh, born and raised in the US, this is an opinion I've had since this KHALISTAN stuff began. We go to Canada if we miss India, because it's basically become MINI PUNJAB LOL. Another note. The Khalistan topic is all nonsense. I don't know why SO MANY CANADIAN BORN and AMERICAN BORN SIKHS support or push for this. IF YOU PLAN TO MOVE BACK TO KHALISTAN, for sure support it. Don't push an issue you would not commit to. Plus, no foreign born would comfortably move to KHALISTAN, if it existed, due to the lack of opportunities. My parents left India for the lack of opportunities (legally). They knew Punjab has no future, since the Indian nation shrunk it's state borders, and we become a LAND LOCKED state. If this LAND LOCKED COUNTRY were to be established, everything would be ridiculously expensive, and Khalistan would be lucky to become as "successful" as EXPENSIVE Switzerland. I work in a typical corporate environment, where all conversations are filtered through a layer of professionalism, and just the other day my director made a joke about how he's glad we don't have Indians on our team. Everyone laughed and we moved on as if it was a completely normal thing to say about an ethnic group. I am an indian, genuinely speaking, when I came here back in 2023, I didn’t know there are so many people from one of the indian state called punjab. They have ruined this place as well as image of all Indians. Also, If you want khalistan, why they are not protesting in where their land belongs(so called), why in Canada or Usa? There are 70% of the people are living in canada is punjabi. They have ruined the image of our whole country. We are peace loving people and follow rules but just because of these people, we fell into the same group. Fun fact: why brampton and surrey have bad reputation and increased crime rates because punjabi people live there. Thats heart wrenching. The other aspect is the Canadian government doing nothing to curb thia types of people instead of that these people do crime, get arrested, claim asylum, get free food for 1 year and become the resident of the Canada. This is what happens when you only interview old, white boomers. I was just in Brampton for my cousins wedding (they’re Indian). The wedding had tons of young white, Indian, Asian, etc. people. Everyone was having a good time and having fun. Old people don’t change, young people adapt and live. For what it’s worth, Brampton was bustling, growing, and there was construction everywhere. It felt safer and definately was cleaner than any size city like that in the US. All the Indians I know there (my extended family) are engineers, lawyers, finance types, and doctors. One of my uncles got the Order of Canada - he lives in downtown Toronto though, very wealthy cardiologist now.

I find it ignorant to train ppl in a language that Canadians don’t use. I go into Tim Hortons in a small town and they barely know English. Just a small word here. Khalistan sikh are not Indian Sikh. They are people who are wanted for various crimes even in India. As an indian living in canada im going to say this punjabis are not living in brampton because it feels like home most of them come to canada to flex and probably because the city is swamped with their people so they don’t have to communicate in english, i cant even count the number of times these people have talked to me punjabi while i tell them i don’t speak punjabi and they start getting offended ask me why i dont , like bro I’m from a different part of india , why don’t you speak my mother tongue or english to begin with , also the flexing culture they have is crazy , all i want to say is if you don’t know how to communicate in a language and still move to that country and complain you don’t have enough opportunities in your country you might be at fault not your country nor the new one that you moved into,most of them don’t even have papers , want a separate country for themselves, lack the skills and yet they are living like this, blame the government who let this happen not the rest of us.
