My family came to this country 35 years. My parents were educated, they brought over money and skill, we went through background checks to confirm we were not criminals. A refugee here. Through my job as an engineer, I'm probably giving back more than what half Canadian born do. Many Canadians just live off of interest in money they inhereted while we work to uplift the economy. Refugees would still rather go back to their countries as soon as the war is over.
