As an immigrant who came to this country & fell in love with its culture 40 years ago, it's appalling to see how our beautiful first world country is quickly becoming a gutter. The newcomers these days are the privileged ones. All of us need to speak up, especially those of us immigrants who retain our original accents &/ non-white because our white fellow Canadians are accused of being racist whenever they do (though many could learn to be more eloquent. ie. go back to your country does NOT help)! I see it as my Canadian duty to remind "misbehaving" newcomers the reason they left their country in the first place. ie. You chose Canada for a better life, so why try to change it into the one you left? ie. Help me understand your logic? Why not leave your hate & war at the border; just like normal folks won't bring stinky garbage into their new homes. Life is challenging enough when you uprooted to a new country (especially our unforgiving cold Winter). So, just focus on the positive things in your new country & leave all your miseries behind... ie. Learn to adapt & enjoy your new country. Canada is a great country because of the love & effort of those before you, so now you are the beneficiary. Join the legacy by enhancing this beautiful country & its culture, so you can pass on this century old legacy for later newcomers to enjoy, like you do now. What dignity do you have & what kind of life lessons to your children by bullying your culture & religion into Canada at the expense of other Canadians? This will fracture Canada if everyone does that. Do you want this country to become so fractured & terrible that your descendants have to leave for a better country, like you did? Is that what your religion teaches you? Does it state it's perfectly fine to satisfy all your whims & wishes at the expense of others? Are you striving for Canadians to think badly of your race/culture? Are you being a good ambassador to your race/community/culture/religion? Canadians are so friendly & helpful, if you need help, just ask, please don't demand. Learn the language & it's ok to speak broken/pigeon English with gestures to communicate. No one expects you to be an English scholar; you gain respect for trying. Apply some basic Canadians manners, which goes a long way... Please & Thank You, Smile doesn't cost you anything, besides it's good exercise for your facial muscles. I worked my entire career with the public, I very seldom encounter negative feedback when I do the above. If they get nasty, I tell them that's definitely not the Canadian way to make friends & wish them Good Luck! I also make a point in telling the wealthy ones "Tax Avoidance is legal (I'm more than happy to show them), but Tax Evasion is not! Then reminding them....Canada will be bankrupt eventually if everyone don't pay their fair share of taxes. ie. You may not suffer, but your children/grandchildren will. Worst Case scenario, you didn't get the necessary medical care when you most needed it!!! My parents came to Canada over 30 years ago with employable skills and money to support ourselves. We go through Canadian education system, get Canadian jobs and pay Canadian taxes. We still celebrate our own heritage with food and holiday but we do them in our own house. Not sticking into people’s faces. I feel that’s how immigration should be like. Not hordes of illegals and refugees that ruins our society and cost us loads of tax payer dollars. Now with Canada being India land, I’ll have no choice but leave this country eventually, I’ll have no choice but finding a better place to retire.

I am an immigrant,I never abused the system, never took what was not mine, I worked hard and I am nurse, I waited four years to purchase my dream car and 2 months in, the person who don’t use road codes or stop light hit my car! I worked hard and I am kind and respectful…. People who steal DAILY gets a slap on their wrist and gets their Canadian citizenship right away. I don’t eat or drink and place my cup on store shelves with clothes that other people are about to purchase. Canada is not safe anymore! All the jobs are going to a set of immigrants who acts like pigs! Driving in the dowtown area, u have to keep your foot on the break because there WILL be about 20 bikes that will ride in front of your car without notice . I work so hard and sometimes it’s so overwhelming, the last time this got to me…. I had to go and take a little vacation…. No I could not afford it but it’s better than getting stressed out because Canada is becoming a 3rd world country!!! There are HONEST people who work so hard and cannot afford anything , not even their rent! I was not raised to be racist but at 67 and my family has been in Canada since 1536 , I can now say that I am racist. I do not agree with melding pot beliefs. the people being brought in to my country are NOT TRYING TO MERGE OR ADAPT “OUR” way of life. Better Rules for coming to this Country need to be implemented. like No banking outside of our banking system. no owning property until they have been in Canada for 15 years and have proven that they Support Canada not the country they Left and didn’t bother to try and work on. For all 10 or 20 million people in Canada there are 1500 million in India. Apparently we are doing well. Indians have been in Canada for a very long time. Many came from Punjabi closer to colonial times. The racism in the comments is inexcusable. People of all different backgrounds commit crimes , public nuisances, etc. and the complaining of dominating every industry? I’m not sure what angle that is. Maybe the other groups should do better at dominating industries or advocate for businesses to hire other Canadians (equal opportunity employment). People who don't want to talk to us, understand us, do business with us, rent to us. but the same people want us to assimilate, Convert, stop talking to each other and stop doing any business and pay better taxes to contribute better. Sorry to say, we love white people. I myself had to spend 5 years, put in efforts to make white friends, chinese, japanese, arab, black friends (in order to learn canadian culture and try to adjust myself in it, without compromising extremely on my spiritual beliefs and positive aspects of my culture). quite a few are very good friends and discuss my problems and share theirs while others behave like they are somehow supreme than me... 6.5 years in Canada, worked hard to assimilate and now, Federal Government backstabbed me for PR along with a minimum wage paying, but expecting $30 results employer (white-canadians)... So, I guess, people who are not trusting them knew something that I didn't... I never worked cash never tried to misrepresent myself to IRCC and this is what I am made feel... while 100s of people did cash jobs, saved money and today are getting PRs... still I am trying my best to stay legally, without exploiting loopholes... but, I feel scammed by the canadian dream.

I am not racist in any way shape or form- my grandfather was in Germany and he was on the Beach in Normandy. He saw his friend die in a foxhole beside him and my grandfather came home with shrapnel in his leg. His suffered all of this to give us our freedoms and a safe place to live. One of my uncles would never speak his language - Italian in front of anyone that didn’t understand it. I asked him why not? His answer was simple “its’s a rude!” Such eloquence from broken English. I am disabled - if I was not married I would be living on the street. Students immigrants are given better housing and more money to survive on than me - who was a part of this workforce and a taxpayer from the age of 12 I have had some sort of job until I was injured at work. If you want a visit visa for US you are interviewed by an immigration official and these criminals would be rightly refused. Younwant to visit Canada just buy a ticket and you're in, no questions asked and claim refugee upon landing and get showered with free cash and benefits and way better health care than us plebs.
