I don't see this as a social problem, Canadians are from everywhere, we are not inherently racist because we are voicing the mess Canada is turning into. It's a Political problem. The last governments have quietly opened up immigration without providing infrastructure to support them. Taxpayers dollars have been dolled out for new immigrant's housing and living. This is akin to welfare in that there is no incentive to begin to work and make your own life when the federal government is supporting them with our tax dollars...and first generation Canadians are afraid to speak up for fear of sounding racist. Ridiculous. This has to stop and change. I'm planning on leaving. It's headed for disaster. I see the light.

i have no hopes, i work every week, every day for years...and at end of each month i still do not have some reserve for myself...i am surviving, NOT living, i am working to make happy others, i am working to pay bills, rent, cards, studies, and yeah to buy some food to continue to work to make happy others. I am First Nations and I have been concerned about how the face and language of Canada has changed. The first thing we noticed in our small town was that the taxi companies were taken over by East Indians. Now days you are hard pressed to get a taxi anywhere in Canada and get a driver who hails from India. I used to like Tim Horton's until I needed an interpreter to make my order, one doesn't speak English so, she had to get another worker to take my order. You go into any 7/11 or any gas station, or convenience store. All are staffed by people from India. But, it isn't just Indians. There are many other immigrants coming to Canada from China, Japan etc. None of these immigrants do not speak very good English. I have faced prejudice from these people who do not recognize my rights as an indigenous person. Going for an xray, blood test the field is mostly Asian. I have to get cataract surgery and I couldn't understand the Chinese receptionist and had to spell most of what I said to her. That means their business is mostly with Chinese-speaking people. As a First Nations person my status will always be a minority. With every immigrant that comes to Canada my status as an indigenous person diminishes. Taking transit shows me that english or french are ever spoken. Canadians are the new minority.

Because we were raised in so much peace and we were protected so much from fighting by the ones who fought the most to get here. Through their protection and confidence that their sacrifice was enough....we were never taught how to fight for our rights. We were fed the lie that their sacrifice was enough. It's sad to see after 100 years all of that blood shed was still not enough. Lest we forget. We have always been treated as a company, but with respect of our growing culture. Now we are treated as a commodity, and being stripped of the culture here and replaced by people from around the world fleeing their own, but wanting to bring it here to our home.
