Before u give Trudeau senior any credit , he was the one who started the change in Canada from a producer to a service country from bring in immigrants that produced in the 50’s and 60’s to bringing in low paying service jobs from the 70’s till now. This decline started 50 years ago

I like you & your attitude about coming to Canada. I’m subscribing. I feel for the young girl looking for a job. There are tons of jobs on indeed in my city. I apply for both part & full time. I apply for at least 10-20 a day. I’m not getting calls for interviews. I’ve even applied twice to one job because I was not chosen but 2 weeks later the same position was back. I’m fortunate enough to not have to work. I have a husband that makes a very good salary that pays for all of the bills , groceries & vacations. Up until Covid collapsed my 2 franchises & I was sinking more money in than making it I had to sell one for 1/3 of what I paid for it & give the other away. I started a small business at home doing lash extensions. I have my regular clients. But if I want to save my own money it’s not sustainable or steady. I want to work because I enjoy leaving my home not to just go grocery shopping or visit family. That’s even if they are home from work. I like having a purpose. I’m skilled in accounting, cleaning, sales, marketing, customer service you name it. Many might say that I’m very lucky. I am very blessed but it’s also very lonely. Plus I have always worked & had independence. I hate asking my husband to send me money so I can pay my cell, credit card bills. I don’t even go shopping without him for new clothes because I rely on him to pay for those too. Hypothetically we broke up tomorrow I’d be screwed. I worry about if he dies. There’s life insurance but we still have a mortgage to pay & monthly bills. Plus of course I’d make sure his kids got some too. Not to mention I’ve had mental health struggles with social anxiety & agoraphobia years ago. The more I stay home the more I get anxious about going out. Days can get boring & then I find myself napping all afternoon. I need a job. I just want my own money. I don’t want to go to my husband every 3 months & ask him to send me 2000.00 to clear up my overdraft for one business day. I don’t even want to have to use it. Sorry for the rant but I feel that even when filing out applications many times I’m asked if I’m racialized. In other words is my skin brown.

Canada government has to frequently check all businesses owned by people who came to Canada and are Canadians by naturalization. Because, when they hire employees they hire their people no other people and if they hire outside their community they hire one or may be two. That is it. So businesses in canada have to be checked if the employees are from different country of orgin.

I for one love immigrants in Canada. They add colour, life and vibrancy to this country and we have so much to learn from each other.

As a Pakistani Canadian I respect Canadians , love Canadian culture. Canada is our chosen homeland and we truly love this great country. I raise two daughters here and one is a successful professional civil engineer and second is a chartered accountant.

Dude could have just walked either way over the border and not spent a dime doing it. The entire canadian border is open and not monitored. In some areas one side of the road is canada and the other side in America.

I'm born in Canada I had five children and they all had to find work and they all had to go to school and they all still have to find work and they still have to survive now each one of them has had one child only

This is why our government services are maxed out, housing cost etc.. it affects everyone in Canada one way or another.

In regards to the job issue, I wonder if allowing only a certain number of a certain demographic to be hired as opposes to giving majority of the jobs to that one demographic? Or maybe removing the wage subsidies? Is canada even in a financial position to be subsidizing wages? I don’t know if that would help….. just a thought.

These immigrants were scheduled to leave anyway. They were well aware of it. So, it is not based on new immigration rules. The government tried to force too many people into the country, causing a spike in housing prices and many other problems. This then affected every Canadian. A lot are becoming even poorer. It is one of the reasons they had more tent cities and 2 million people going to food banks along with 2/3 of Canadians with only 500.00 a month after all monthly bills were paid. That's 2/3 of Canadians. The Convoy had released these figures over a year ago at CPAC. Proving that Canada is in a huge mess economically because of these Liberal policies. @minimaxmiaandme.4971 - I don't hide behind a fake name. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the convoy or did you forget? The Liberals violated Canadians' Constitutional Rights to Protest. Which proves they are more credible than the Liberals. This is perfect step from USA. When you say "Canadian", you need to understand and admit that the composition of "Canadian population" has changed substantially over the past few years. I wish Canada also takes enough security steps before getting influx. It is not the country where from you come, it is who is coming. And, if one has clean records, what should one worry?

Finally, with the US tightening their borders, Canada will be the desired destination for North America, and our policies must prepare for this likely outcome. One last point is this: i would rather this country take care of the first nations peoples, the dispossessed, those marginalized within our society and our elderly who've contributed to this country's growth and prosperity but, due to one or another reason, dont have workplace pensions for retirement. Once we've sorted out our own peoples, seen properly to the needs of those who were actually born here, ensured our hospitals and schools are well funded, then we can look to service the needs of a migrant population.

I am supportive of immigration, but I believe there should be a cap of no more than 1-2.5% annually. A significant number of migrants moving to Canada from the same region or country could cause issues, as this can lead to the formation of "mini-bubble" societies within Canada. These groups may sometimes become the dominant demographic and undermine the existing communities that have contributed to building Canada for decades. We cannot expect new immigrants to seamlessly merge into Canadian society. This is a major oversight by Canada’s Immigration Department. Digital applications from foreign nations may play a role in this phenomenon. There should also be regulations concerning how many new immigrants can be brought in by family members. For instance, one new citizen can legally bring both of their parents and their spouse, which is fair. However, there have been cases where this process is repeated multiple times within ten years, leading to a 1:15 ratio, where one person can bring in six to eight relatives. If there is a labor shortage in essential fields, Canada can offer long-term residency to those who continue to work in those sectors, such as caretakers. However, the pathway to citizenship could be lengthened or require a higher standard. For instance, the requirements could extend from X years of living in Canada to X+5 years, as well as passing a basic Canadian citizenship test, either written or verbal. While an increase of five years may seem unfair or lengthy, it is essential. A newborn child from a Canadian family requires 18 years to gain voting rights in elections, whereas new immigrants—especially those who come for study for four to six years—can potentially gain both citizenship and voting rights sooner if they meet the previous administration's standard. The investment in home buying as a pathway to citizenship has contributed to the housing crisis, resulting in numerous empty homes in various regions. While it may offer short-term economic benefits that some politicians favor, it is detrimental to Canada as a whole. If buying a house is the only requirement for citizenship, wouldn't a large portion of the global population be eligible for U.S. citizenship just by investing in U.S. businesses or stocks? This perspective may seem illogical when looking at it from outside the box. Apologies for being a bit wordy; I had much more to say. Nonetheless, I also support temporary residency for up to 6-9 months for those who have been evacuated due to war, natural disasters, or similar circumstances. Special exceptions can be granted for families with members working in critical fields that merit such considerations (high-end industry).
