Try finding an apartment!! I had to move from one airbnb yo another to another for months. Meanwhile, getting passed over from one apartment to another. These folks were transferring first and last before even being chosen. They were starting bidding wars over apartments. Paying way more than asked. That's what drove the rent cost through the roof! I have a friend who has been staying at motel for months now trying to find a place. He was turned down for a place with a cosigner that makes 100k a year! It needs to stop!

I lived in Canada for 11 years, 2008 - 2019, went to university and worked in Toronto. I come from an upper-middle class family in China, went to a top university in Canada, landed good jobs and I speak English like a native. I got my PR in 2015 and I remember the painful uphill battle I had to go through just get that. All the bureaucracy, redtape, unnecessarily rigid rules, high cost and long wait I received from CIC/IRCC felt like a humiliation to me. Every document was scrutinized and every step had obstacle that fealt unreasonable (my TOEFL examiner ask me why I had to do the language test required by CIC, and I had to visit a notary to validate my Chinese national ID card). It felt uneasy but I understood that these were the rules that everyone had to go through, and moving and integrating into a new society was never meant to be easy. I went back to Canada in 2021 and 2024, and it was evident that the country I once called home had gone down the hill. The streets were screaming crime, unemployment, inflation, drug and filth, it's total social rot. As someone who went through the whole immigration process (and many of my friends who went through the same have left Canada for good, like myself), I attribute much of this to failed immigration policy. I cannot help but feel confused, angry, betrayed and humiliated when I look at the recent immigration policies of Canada and their results, and compare with what I had to go through. The feeling sums up to: Canada penalizes the hard-working and law-abiding people, and rewards the undeserved and the cheaters. Example: when the US creates wars in the Middle East, why does CANADA bear the cost of bringing in refugees? I never regretted moving back to China and East Asia, and I feel bad for those who still truly think of Canada as home, as I am one myself. When the leadership of a country deviates from pragmatism, reason and common sense, and instead embraces idealogies, hypocrisy and political optics, this is what happens. The prices are paid by everyone, immigrant or not. For this, Trudeau deserves a court trial for his incompetence and dereliction of duty; and the people of Canada need some honest and serious retrospection. I will share some words of wisdom by the late Lee Kwan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore (LKY was the PM and founding father of Singapore) must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards, this is your life and mine. I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.” I hope the clownish weakling politicians in Canada (and, in much of the western world nowadays) can be enlightened a little bit.

No one can find a job . People who voted liberal for the handout in Ontario are moving to alberta taking our jobs! Our infrastructure cant handle the growth !

Needs to be even tighter but since its been so high fir so long it may be too late. Ive seen young Canadians who canet find work and may have to move to the US for good futures some have already started and taking their skills with them. Canada dies not need high levels it needs more affordable homes, better paying jobs, etc do they can have kids and increase the population organically. Parts of Canada dont even look like a North American country. As an immigrant I can tell you that it would be better if Canadians could afford to have more kids

All the real Canadians who want to get away should move to Alberta and join the secession movement

Almost all of them just enrolled in Canada not really to study, but to use Canada as a pathway to cross into the US, which is why they disappear after enrolling in school. That’s the kind of moves people from INDIA’s make.

Honestly it's so depressing i don't even wan't to watch the video. Reason alot of the people i know have moved out of big cities.

We have quite a few Indians moving out to our little town here too. I find them to be hard working and very friendly. They are buying the stores from the Koreans. The ones that moved out here are great folks. I have no problem with it. To be honest, so many people that I grew up with have left now so having this influx is helping to revitalize our little towns.

Why even move to a new country if you just make it like the one you left?????

I'm born in Quebec, I moved in different provinces for work and when I came back, i was treated like an immigrant. Go figure

well you do have to give people a chance to assimilate though, only thing is that sometimes people over there send them here to earn money and you have to admire that there is risk of rejection for them as well and may be no picnic to move to a strange country just for money!.

As an Indian I'd say it's cheap to move to another country for economic benefits... it's like extracting wealth from another country and their people. If one really likes some country then they should already have enough money to live and support themselves.

This is a vicious cycle which have not been finished, and still going on. People must be moved from Canada immediately, government doesn't have the right numbers.

If people want to get up in arms about something, they should target the people who keep money in tax havens. One billionaire's dodged taxes would be more than all the refugee and immigrant aid that we squabble about. Don't target the people who are trying to protect their children by moving them to safety.

What about the hundreds of Syrians living in Vancouver hotels because they dont want to move to small town Alberta

Moved to downtown Toronto, Canada on June 5th, 1970. There was no indian grocery stores until a few years later, where a Mr. Sharma opened one of the very first stores. Growing up in the heart of downtown and going to school (Ossington and Old Orchard P.S.) wasn't easy. There was quite a bit of racism in those days so my sister and I had to assimilate quickly, in which we did. We happily lived within the Portuguese and Italian communities and the rest is history!!!!

as a person who moved from alberta to brampton due to a family emergency for just 1 year, i was not prepared for the nosedive in quality of life at all
