I for one celebrate that governments are doing what the majority wants instead of catering to the few. If it didn’t work out, that’s too bad.

Yeah, the majority here in Ontario are happy that the government is getting it under control, and unfortunately, the method is not fair. The missing parts of the report are: 1) the government has increased the number of permanent residency spots to convert temporary residents, but the increase is not proportionate. 2) The reason why we had an increase in temporary residents was because corporations (like Tim Horton's) lobbied the government to let in more temporary workers whom they can underpay and exploit, as the employees don't have as many rights. So now it is not surprising that they are lobbying against the changes.

Born in ontario in 97, a complete disaster has taken place pretty well across canada and it will never get better. Im hoping that you will be able to provide some evidence of this disaster this has impacted the majority of canadiens in a negative regard.

Plus look at who is filling the majority of the Canadian government jobs and what community they belong to. 😮 no no that wouldn’t be possible!! would it!! Please don't believe this report. I am from Canada, This issue is not dividing us at all . In fact the overwhelming majority agrees immigration numbers of recent years are unsustainable .These policies to cut immigration are driven by public pressure on the government..Fr24 is cherry picking and make it sound like there is huge backlash to these cuts.

Folk may think this reduction in immigration is far from any "slash" in numbers. " For every positive to reduced immigration numbers, Canadians are going to discover that there will be negatives. The negatives might very well justify using the word "slash". Time will tell.

Canada is still taking in 400k immigrants this year, that is no small number. Just building homes for 400k people in the major cities is a challenge.

I just read a story that over 851,000 immigrants have left Canada on their own because of the high cost of housing and living conditions here , and won't this solve the problem when it comes to immigration in the country . Should have asked Kenny who is going to pay his golf plated pension when the population starts going down and there is less taxpayers paying into the system when we start having a major population decline .

Yes it’s important to know but the people may be in different areas such as law enforcement. Each city town and borough has that information. In regards to the job issue, I wonder if allowing only a certain number of a certain demographic to be hired as opposes to giving majority of the jobs to that one demographic? Or maybe removing the wage subsidies? Is canada even in a financial position to be subsidizing wages? I don’t know if that would help….. just a thought.
