We learn in University that Canada has improved from identity politics (Canada's culture and values) to diversity politics and it's a GOOD thing. Don't question it, you don't need an identity in order to have a culture... We are doomed

Canada must repeat what it did in the 1930's and the 1940's. Canada needs to bring 5 million immigrants from Eastern Europe, like Poland, Portugal, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Bosnia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Macedonia etc. Just look at the Eastern Europeans in Canada, they and their Canadian born children and grandchildren have learned and speak English language fluently. In Canada, people speak English and French. The British and the French values must be upheld. God save the King.

As a Canadian I'm so sad what our country has become, its heartbreaking 💔. Unfortunately we let everyone and their family in and our country has never been worse. No one can drive, Healthcare, our environment is being destroyed from them all. If you move here then change how you are as a person, learn the traditions of the country and respect it. I learned several years ago during a time of unemployment that our EI centers are not for us, they are for immigrants. Not one service was for me, but if I was an immigrant, the entire world opens up including lots of financial support, they will even help you open a business. Yet we are the ones paying into it.

This gentleman told the truth. You're not to change the culture, you're to become part of it. All cultures have things that are good, wven great. To learn those great things from other cultures is ok. But this lady speaks the truth.

I'm a immigrant, came here without any English, but learned the language. I was born in Brazil and I watch more Hockey then soccer. I always do the best I can to be integrated within society, helping and doing the best I can so anywhere I go and tell them where I live to represent the county and show them how respectful we are!I feel sad watching people trying to change the culture instead of adapting to Canada's Culture. I'm not a person that get's angry easily but I find really hard not to feel displeased with the lack of respect to the County and it's culture. Just my two cents

I think the problem is the government need to educate people coming to American learn the culture and respect the people and culture. I learn a lot from the culture and good pole.

There is a group creating a new social measurement called 'World Civility Index' to help immigrants to learn about the culture and values of their new host. The concept is to set a standard, common interface where everyone can interact and enjoy each other, not imposing their own "old country" culture, especially in public. We do this by cultivating social manners, empathy, intercultural awareness so that newcomers can be better employees, students, general citizens. What gets measured gets managed.

I can tell you one thing, around the 11:00 minute mark I learned these people definitely were not let in to Canada for their singing talent or Music writing skills, it really seems like everything they do, is to teach or make people run away and leave. I don't get it.

They are just in Canada for a diploma of learning new techniques about GiftCards, CallCenter work,... which they can use back in India for a higher success in redeeming ;)

My parents immigrated in the early 90s and I was born in Canada. It’s very hard to relate to the new immigrants in the last 10 years because we’re so different. The families that immigrated in the 80s and 90s had to assimilate and become “Canadian” which in hindsight was for the best. I learned about my culture and language at home, but my parents, emphasized the importance of being “Canadian first” and being a part of society and “fitting in.” This wasn’t at all a bad thing. I learned to ski, skate, make ice lollies with snow and syrup, went camping, played sports… I feel embarrassed when Indians are looked at in this light, but its true. 90% of this new wave of immigrants on “student visas,” dont intend to actually obtain any sort of an education, instead they use it as a pathway for permanent residency. I know this because I have relatives who say this out loud behind closed doors. I don’t agree with any of it, and quite frankly it’s very embarrassing, but most of us first generation Indian Canadians feel very upset about how its all played out and the negative light in which our people are now viewed under. Personally, I agree they arent interested in becoming culturally Canadian, they just want to be in Canada for financial reasons. They stay in their groups, dont integrate and think somehow this will play out well. It isnt discrimination when your own people also feel this way. I have yet to meet a first gen Canadian who disagrees

I was born in Canada, But Our Family migrated to the USA when I was 2 years old in 1976 we adapted to the USA culture. I grew up on US values. US laws, US living. Our Family moved back in Canada in 1997 to Nova Scotia. We then adapted back to the Canadian culture. Mother and Father taught us to always support the country you live in. Adapt to it's culture and rules. I live in Quebec now in Montreal been here since 2018. I'm always learning french here and there but speak mostly english. But I support the french language. Some days on the weekend though downtown when I see all the immigrants praying in the streets I am starting to miss the USA though. But I do not process an Green Card anymore.

Get organised..get fit..learn hand to hand combat..obtain the tools needed..educate others..Embrace your Faith and Heritage!

Just got back from my first ever cruise and fully enjoyed it. Sat through a few presentations on how the ship actually keeps us all safe and afloat and had a behind the scenes peek at where the amazing crew eat , sleep and socialize. Also learned how they hire and vet their staff, including all background and health checks before they can work for Royal Caribbean (Celebrity). Hey Mr PM, perhaps you could join this board and learn a thing or two on how to “onboard” people to safeguard all.

I thought I remembered learning there were travelers and traders from East and South Asia along the western coast before Europeans came to this continent.

What did they learn? Can't make coffee or keep washrooms clean or open.

Okay so we can try and learn about other cultures in a professional way or like educated way but lets be cautious that not everyone may like this

Just wanna say, cause I don't think its said enough, I commend the journalistic integrity that you started out with and maintain throughout your work. Thank you for your commitment to hearing many sides of the story. My brother is a journalist in NYC and he also amplifies voices that are so often drowned out by louder, flashier ones. As a Canadian, who was born in South Africa, but have grown up in BC since elementary school, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity this country has given my family. We all work hard to build on the values shared in this nation. I love learning about aspects of Canada that I am unfamiliar with, but ultimately help shape its identity. 🙏

An Uber driver was upset while telling me that he has family who have lived in the country for over 10 years but still refuse to learn English. They seem to want the benefits of living here, but not to embrace the culture that makes this country great. It feels like we’re losing a battle most people didn’t even realize was happening. A government is meant to serve its people, yet it often feels like ours is working against us.

I don’t see the problem let them practise their culture and language they pay taxes and stuff and at least put some effort in learning ur stuff
