I read a book by Naomi Klein several years ago called "Shock Doctrine" where she outlines this strategy and breaks it down. This did not happen by accident or because of stupidity or bad government. It was strategic and part of the plan.

The issue is real concerns warping into a racist perspective. No doubt there’s too many Indians coming into Canada, as the Canadian government is more than happy to accept. And the frustration from over-immigration turning into “fuck Indians”, it happens so quick. Being a man born in Canada with Indian heritage, lets you see how much the new immigrants don’t like you because you are too “white” for them, and Canadians don’t like you because you look like all of the new people coming in that look just like you. Lose lose all around.
