The birth rate slowed because of a corrupt Liberal government who priced everyone out of their homes. Canadians are not bringing new babies into a world when they are broke and taxed to death. We can't justify adding another mouth to feed when we can't afford to feed the mouths that are here now. And they are not importing to sustain the population....they are importing votes to stay in power. The Liberal mantra...."Fuck Canadians!!! Do what we need to do to stay in power". Hypocritical of him to charge high tariffs, cry about us imposing new tariffs because of the unfair tariffs on us, saying tariffs are a bad idea, then proceeds it levy additional tariffs on us. The whole reason we imposed tariffs is because you have high tariffs on us

I'm a Canadian. I am trying to wrap my head around why a President would start a trade war by imposing tariffs that hurt their allies and hurt his own people..!? I am not an economist nor an investor; However I found it interesting that the immediate result of this as they corresponded about this news is how the markets are taking a major dive. If I wanted to make money off the stock market and had no morals and had the power to cause it to crash, I would make sure it crashed hard by imposing tariffs. Then I would invest as many billions in the key stocks that will come back, and watch my billions turn into 10's or 100's of billions...\nThe other possible explanation could simply be that he wants all the critical minerals from Canada, Greenland, Ukraine for nothing. Taking those minerals for free and selling electric cars, miliatary equipment, etc. would be most profitable!\nBut greed seems to know no bounds for those who are wealthy, as long as it's at their gain and not at their expense!

Liberals don't see migrants as a problem because they fall back on the reality that Canada was built with the help of immigrants. But that was a long time ago. It was a different situation completely. There needed to be people brought in to build, plant and develop the country at that time. We are no longer in need of mass migration as we already have a developed country. I wonder how many of the liberals would change their positions if the policy was, if you want a new migrant to come into Canada you have to pay for them out of your own paycheques and if you don't want a new migrant you don't have to pay. Pretty sure, very few people would want to pay when it is put that way but we are ALL forced to pay to cover that tab.

Commercial-broadway area in Vancouver is full of Italians and greeks, Richmond and Burnaby are asians mostly chinese, some pockets in Toronto downtown have heavy middle eastern and african presence. You are selectively targeting the Indians because of your inherent prejudice. Also Assimilation is a 2 way street. There are so many people who are trying to make friends with other cultures especially white but they say they don't show as much love and openness as we do. You can't say "they don't assimilate" when you yourself don't allow them near you.

Here is another one . In Canada, foreign students or temporary workers , non Citizens can apply and receive firearms licenses and can buy non restricted guns . This is not allowed in 90% of countries around the world, including the most gun liberal country in the world. The United States of Amarica will not license a foreigner to own or buy a gun.

Trudeau is an idiot, his words don't matter. If he does not want tariffs he should drop tariffs on America's products. Really simple. The fact that he's resigning means he doesn't even have a say.

My issue with immigration to Ontario and urban sprawl, is that this area is some of the most fertile farmland in Canada. The only part of Canada you can grow fruits profitably besides apples. If we are going to need immigration to support the elderly in retirement in Canada then we should at least build up and not give everyone a house. In highly populated areas like this more emphasis needs to be placed on high rise apartments to free up farmland. Immigrants pay a butload of taxes. It is a double edged sword.

You're all spot on! How is it even possible coming from US and declaring asylum in Canada? And then we have fake refugees, students overstaying visa and applying for refugee status and playing our system, rejected applicants enjoying our health care system etc. What a mess and insult to genuine applicants who lined up and went legally through the immigration system.

It should be in the millions. End the TFW programs and one way tickets home for a thank you but we're done. One time taxpayer cost not monthly.

In my opinion, the conduct of certain IRCC agents and management reflects a serious lack of competence and accountability. Their ongoing actions—or in some cases, inaction—may rise beyond mere administrative negligence and could reasonably be viewed as violations of public trust. It’s my view that they should not only be subject to disciplinary review but also held legally accountable for any misconduct or breaches of duty that have harmed Canadian citizens.

Like prohibition this will increase organized crime and the black market. So stupid.

Accountability should fall on the Government of Canada. They stopped screening properly. There used to be a point system that determined who could immigrate, and it actually worked. I’m of Pakistani descent, born and raised here, and when I’m in Brampton and walk into a Circle K, people start speaking to me in Hindi or Punjabi right away — it’s a trip. At the same time, I’m not saying everyone coming is bad. A lot of international students and new immigrants are hardworking people who want to build a better life. But plenty are also gaming the system. The real issue is that Canada messed up by letting in too many at once, with no structure to help them assimilate. When there’s no integration, no surprise people just act like they’re back home.

Good Luck with that! I mean, what's new? You've had a tariff on the US forever now. Next time Trudeau, you need to grow a set of balls and speak with the president. Don't address the US. Address the president of the United States in person, or at the very least the phone call. Congrats, you just screwed over the Canadian people. So again what's new?
