5 months ago rhythmandacoustics 41, 000 is crazy insane should be like 100 only per year. This oversupply of people is what contributes to more people fighting for few resources (jobs, medical care, apartments, etc) 18 3aiZ6p1qN0I
5 months ago indocanadianadventure Quebec gets tonnes of asylum seekers from North Africa - so makes sense. Also that keeps both sides busy on heated discussion about 'right dress code'. 0 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago HK-eb3by Oh no now employers are going to be forced to hire lowly young and unemployed Canadian citizens who desperately need jobs instead. Oh the tragedy... 🙄 171 3aiZ6p1qN0I
5 months ago Deebo124 Oh no. Quebec was so focussed on the English speaking population Guess they have somebody else to cry about now. You did it to yourselves. 0 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago ronberman8947 The world is finally going this route. Canada is finally catching up. Taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize there stay here.Canadians who are here for generations should be prioritized.. 0 3aiZ6p1qN0I
5 months ago MrDougg44 Why can Quebec make decisions about their immigration but the rest of the country is slowly turning into India? 2 3aiZ6p1qN0I
5 months ago polishtheday I believe it was a temporary program introduced during the pandemic. This whole segment doesn’t delve enough into the background to be sure of exactly who this is going to effect and how. That’s just bad journalism. I’d like to know because I cross the path of many immigrants and care about them. If the federal government’s economic plans work out, there could be more demand for workers in the coming year, especially in and around Montreal - I also pay attention to announcements of companies setting up or expanding here - and this might be another example of the CAQ shooting themselves in the foot again. They seem oblivious that an election is coming next fall. 0 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago Alex_Plante My understanding is the program is like a pipeline. To be just, the government should close the entry point, but not eliminate the pipeline until all those who are in it finish the process. 2 3aiZ6p1qN0I
5 months ago guilhermemaranhao882 Governments need to start thinking what to do when AI replaces most workers. Hundreds of thousands of people will be unemployed and this will happen sooner than we can imagine. Québec may need immigrants in the very short term, but it will need to deal with mass unemployment in 3 years from now, being very optimistic. Immigration in the AI era needs to be rethought. Being an immigrant myself, I advocate for skilled immigration, but we are on the brink of a social disruption. It's time to take it slow. 0 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago diogenes1962 vive le Quebec .... and though Alberta is a very different beast, they too are safe guarding their interests and, perhaps in turn, Canada's. In Halifax, we no longer have speed limits, cross walk rules, basic manners ... and hey, how many door dash drivers to we need... especially those who, EVERY DAY, park in the one handicapped spot.... 1 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago Ismail0z There are lots of programs across Canada, if Quebec doesn't many French and English speakers can move to another province easily. I don't understand the protest. As a migrant, I believe we don't need to protest the host country of their migration 20 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago jean-yvesfontaine8506 This is good for the future of Quebec and Canada. Quebec has finally decided to rule their destiny in way that lead to their independence, that is the next step of the politicians. 3 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago davidmartin7931 Immigration law practice: a lucrative business! If walls had ears, I'm convinced we'd learn some fascinating things about the kinds of discussions one can overhear in immigration law firms, particularly regarding the words put in migrants' mouths to facilitate their entry into Canada. 1 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago nathandelogu5667 Is zero way is it a tragedy that Canada cant take every citizen in the world who wants to move here. Honestly the opinions of the main stream media are ridiculous, why dont we just pave a golden road for them all and make sure they all have 5 bedroom, 6 washroom houses with 4 car garages and Olympic size swimming pools, now that fact we dont have 7 billion houses like that in Canada with the same amount of farm land and natural land is the real tragedy, wake up and get your head out of your ass 0 3aiZ6p1qN0I
5 months ago Wandrative Out of so many people those degenerate glorified thieves (“people in AI”) are your concern? Are tou joking? You can easily replace them with AI or if not hire these types remotely overseas much cheaper. What a joke. Im not interested in immigration stuff but I am happy this law passed since it gives some justice to these vile people. 0 3aiZ6p1qN0I

5 months ago pookiroo Good. Canada does not have enough jobs for its own. All those people unemployed & on social assistance can now take those jobs given to foreigners - especially with minimum wage being so high now. Employers need to employ people within, not outside the country!!!! All these jobs held by foreigners are draining Canada of $$$ because they are not putting their earnings back into the economy, they are sending it back home. Whereas, Canadians invest right back into our own economy. We buy & invest in Canada. 91 3aiZ6p1qN0I
