2 years, 11 months ago @lorraineworsnop5351 I think you have been desensitized to the mass shootings in the US. They occur in good neighbourhoods like Parkland which is close to where my sister lives. My sister has lived in Florida for 38years and is an American citizen but she wants to move back to Canada. It won’t be easy for her because she has developed very strong friendships in Florida, but really doesn’t like living there anymore. As for me, I say hell no, I would never move to the US. There are many parts of the US I would like to visit, but I am becoming more and more frightened to travel in the states. 7 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @patriciatremblay3311 I'm a Quebecois, I'm married to an American. Hell no ? ? ... was the answer to this question. My husband had an opportunity in Texas (double his salary)... Do you want to move there? I didn't let him finish!! Out of question... I will not go to that social nightmare (politics, woman rights, racism, health, education, gun violence, religion, transphobia, fachisim, patriotism, extreme capitalism, etc) plus the weather!!! No way... Hors de question!! Ni pense même pas!!! Na, niet, nada, non, nooooope? ? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @davidparkin9017 You've got to understand the socio-economic breakdown which is very similar in the United States and Canada. 1% are wealthy, 4% are rich, 5% are professional class, 20% are middle class, 30% are blue collar or skilled working class, 30% are working poor and 10% are poor/economically insecure. Start from there. People shouldn't let politics or people make up their minds. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @wihamaki I would of moved to the U.S. prior to Ronald Reagan. Since then it seems like money goes to the rich, who profit by sending it out of the country. The wealth and value for American workers has gone down drastically ever since. And everyone is bitter about it, so now they're taking it out on each other over minor stupid shit. This whole find a place that's okay feels so much like burying your head in the sand. It's sad that Americans would be more informed on reality if all sources of their media ceased to exist. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @ithiriaderitan1745 The reason school gun violence is a issue to use Tyler. \nThere have been 23 school shootings this year that resulted in injuries or deaths, according to an Education Week analysis. There have been 167 such shootings since 2018. There were 51 school shootings with injuries or deaths last year, the most in a single year since Education Week began tracking such incidents in 2018. \n\nWhile I know it depends where you live in the US but 23 shootings this year alone and we're only 7 months in to the year. 51 last year. ya its a bit high and a reasonable fear 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @axelk6521 I live in Canada and would never move to the US. MAGA republicans scare me. Though I do think Americans can be very proud of their ability to support nations like Ukraine in their fight for freedom. Well done USA! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @marcjampolsky5280 We have lots of guns in Canada... Overall we do it better. our firearm crime is from illegally smuggled firearms from america... ALSO our biggest issue with our firearm laws is that the government keeps targeting legal owners for no logical or stat based reasons for political points instead of focusing on actual issues. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @gordwilliam4384 It may have already been mentioned, but in Quebec all swear words (or almost all) are against the church. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @patrickdeporte289 you can t be objective about the us many things americn are considered batshit anywhere else 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @sandyd-h9563 Nice place to visit, but I'd never move there 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Jordan-pf9ws No where in the US is safe when guns are so easily accessible. Canadians seem to get that when Americans don't. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @justg1226 The leading cause of death in children in America is gun violence. How do you not know this? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @PierreaSweedieCat Years ago, we lived Phx, Az. But that was then. Today, no. \nToo much violence, health care issues, weird politics, and terrorism. Sorry USA. You are a great country, but not as great as you used to be. Plus I am much older now. I simply could not handle it. Stil wishing you all the best, tho! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @kensmith3665 Apparently Post-secondary-educated , Employed with health insurance, white male with a solid side hustle….. you are in the right “ class” to feel lucky for sure. I really enjoy your stuff…. Please please please do something having to do with the history of Quebec…. FLQ crisis, Cultural Revolution vs the Catholic Church, it is such a rush culture and an amazing place…. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @EricHarris2309 I would not consider moving to the states for any reason, but my reason at this point is that I’m terminally ill and disabled and I can’t even get travel insurance to be able to visit my family there. My mother’s family are all Americans. I had a lot of fun visiting them in my late teens, back in the early 90’s but now I wouldn’t even drive across the border to go shopping. Well, I do go across the border to Alaska, because that’s just an hour away, but Alaska is very different from the continental United States. And I only go to Skagway for the afternoon to get fish and chips. I welcome Americans to Canada with open arms, but I have zero desire to ever live or visit there. One at a time, on my terms, in my country, Americans are great, but your nation is falling apart at the seams. I don’t feel safe there at all. 2 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @kensmith3665 Tabernacle is for the “Tabernacle” part if the alter in the Catholic Church and as the Catholic Church was hugely politically powerful historically the curse words which are most outrageous are religion related such as Tabernacke said with as snarl… the actual body of Jesus as believed by a Catholics is stored there inside a chalice in the form of mass consecrated bread discs … also “Colice” the word for chalice where the bread discs are stored in a golden goblet as bread discs and the priest turn them into the actual bid up of Christ… “este” or host is the term for the little bread discs that are so the actual body of Christ… all the lrcious is actually believed by practicing a Catholics… I am just sharing… No offence intended …. 0 O0gJtVar7_E

2 years, 11 months ago @celletoronto I know a lot of people who moved to the US for career reasons — it’s more active in terms of corporate finance/capital markets. Having said that, many look to move back once they marry and have family. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @robmoen4609 I'd move to the U.S. any time. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @defender399 No way on God’s green earth would I ever want to leave ?? to move to the ??! The American dream has turned into a nightmare. Y’all have that orange faced dude and his sycophants to thank for a bigley part of that problem. You’re no longer the respected great country you once were. For that matter, since we have Crime Minister Turdeau up here, ?? isn’t much better off politically. Way too much turmoil and self destructive activity going on in ??❕ 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @nickisteudel2449 I know you've talked about Ryan Reynolds quite a bit, and I think you would really enjoy this music video dedicated to him when he was given the Governor General's Award for Performing Arts. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXulsCU1geg 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @edcliffe2988 You've got Mc Donald's? Well THAT's strike one. One of Canada's problems is that McDonald's has infected it too. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Studley2 So a lot came up about guns in the USA. I am Canadian, and I own firearms (and have my restricted licence), I love firearms, YET all responsible gun owners know someone who should not be allowed to own a gun who has one! And we have strict gun laws here, training and safety, and NO way would I want it made much easier for the people who should not own one to get one like the states! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Chickendestroyefier Wouldn't move to the US. Other countries, sure. US is nice to visit, wouldn't want to live there with no healthcare, or issues with school safety. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @shanewareham8003 In Canada, we report a lot of American news as well. All the time we hear about mass shootings happening in the United States. 3 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Jordan-pf9ws As a transman i would say F no. You couldn't pay me to live there. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @kaivenst I'm a Canadian from Toronto that's been living in Boston for the past 4 years. Love the city - probably the most underrated in North America. The people here are friendly (not polite, but friendly), and I've generally enjoyed living here. Having said all of that, I'm moving back to Canada in a week. There are some major benefits to living in Boston over Toronto - the pay is significantly higher for the same job, the city is beautiful, and the weather is much better. My wife has enjoyed her time here less, as there are some subtle cultural differences here with misogyny (men in professional settings always touching her inappropriately, she's been drugged at bars several times, and she is treated poorly by many men). Things that were unthinkable in Toronto. Add the slow deterioration of women's rights in this country, and the general situation with healthcare, and its become a rather unwelcoming place for someone used to Canadian culture. 294 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @seanholt892 The answer is hell no. Not a fucking chance 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Greatnortheh I would move to the states only if I can bring my igloo lol? 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @christie7252 Tyler, Canadian here, you need to realize that the number of us who are Canadian and have seen an actual gun in real life is pretty small. I never have. Unless you are a hunter or a cop most of us have never seen one or heard one fired in real life. The thoughts of the mass shootings and school shootings is insane to us, never mind moving there I am no longer comfortable visiting. Maybe the stats reported here are incorrect but there has been a school shooting in every single state, many of your cities see more people die by gun violence in one year than we see in the entire country which averages about 250 a year I think. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Kwolf1 Over 1 million Canadians live in the United States 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @MrDiveDave I dont have a problem with the average American but life in Canada is everything you could ask for. Health care of course but here you can truly do what you want and live your dream if you work for it. Every single person here stands a chance to do amazing things if they have the drive and motivation. We take care of each other here and there are always lots of jobs. \n99% of Canadians would never move to the States unless it was ridiculous to turn down a huge opportunity. But your average person, never. We have it way better here. I have spent a fair bit of time in America. While I have enjoyed it and met some great people there is no comparison when it comes to overall quality of life in every regard. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Ghalion666 Reddit is a platform that leans heavily left, and it's no mystery that Canada also leans left compared to the US, so I'm not sure this is a good way of collecting samples.\n\nI think one thing that matters is that each state in the US has more autonomy over the US Federal government than the provinces in Canada has over its federal government. So the US has stuff to offer over Canada if you want to live somewhere with a society that differs from the general federal mindset. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lucyalderman422 One child killed at school is two too many thank you 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @inthewindago A great many Canadians have their firearms license. But we had to take and pass a course. We also had to pass a thorough background check. Its only a one day course. But about 4 months for the background check. \n\nProbably only on month of actual time spent vetting us. Lol\nBut I’d like to think it takes longer. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Rabidpygmy My friend moved there with her 10 yr old son. He started having panic attacks after the ‘school shooter drills’ if it happens enough that schools have drills how to try and survive… that just doesn’t work for most of us. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @jasonporter7508 I am Canadian. I truly feel culturally we are very similar and there are many great places to live in the States. However in the areas we do differ are the things that make me a proud Canadian. I wouldn't necessarily oppose to living there but that health care issue is the big NO for me. Not to mention the 100 year old President who can barely use full sentences is kinda scary. 5 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @Happydog66 I'm a Canadian that has longed to live in Hawaii all my life. I still can't understand why every American doesn't live in Hawaii. Is it because it's so expensive? I don't know where you live Tyler but I don't think it's Hawaii so I wonder why you're not living in Hawaii? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @mikelavigne5085 The biggest reason to leave Canada is Justin Trudeau but to run to Joe Biden would be pure insanity. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @commenter5901 I would not consider moving to the US because I have a lot of health problems and I wouldn't be able to get coverage for my conditions. In Canada I've had 4 times when I've had to go in for emergency surgery and they get me into surgery in a few hours (basically the time it takes to do all the blood work and prep). I know people complain about long wait times, but that's only for non threatening illness/injuries. There can be a line of people waiting for hours with their minor injuries, but that's because people with serious problems get bumped to the front of the line. That has saved my life on multiple occasions. I've also had to wait 4 months for surgeries that weren't life threatening, so I know what that's like too, but I'd rather wait longer for something non life threatening knowing that it's because they leave room for emergencies. \nMy sister moved to the US a year ago for her husband's job and his job has benefits that cover everything. They seem to enjoy it (they live in one of those custom built communities in Florida that is basically a Country Club) 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @lucyalderman422 My answer, you are joking right 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @ttrep4957 30 years ago there were parts of the US, like Detroit, that i was willing to drive through to get to a better part of the US. Now, there are no good parts left to drive to. So i won't even visit anymore. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @marvintammy Love Canada, but we’ve thought a lot about moving to the US.:..especially to get out of our winters, lol \nthey are horrendous most years. \n\nIt’s mostly our current government thats the issue up here right now- crooked, crooked crooked. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 11 months ago @nicolemills947 We have been living 6 months in Canada and 6 months in US for quite a while. We live in a mobile home park for 55 plus. If I judge people from the park, there is a lot of discrimination, racism, politics and religion that really bother us. We tend to stay at home and not mingle to much with the people. Some people down in Florida are good friends of ours but there views on things and the most common negative issue that we find the racism. 43 O0gJtVar7_E
