2 years, 3 months ago @adu2526 Also, the government should better assess the quolity of the private institutions (those number have increased): the number of hours and a list of disciplines they provide. And the assessment of the graduates should be done by the third party specialists. Because, the graduates sometime, have no glue about the subjects, like I met one student who pointed on the regular electrical outlet box saying that it is a network router. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @christina9470 Not really. It is accepting too many Indian international students, which is a different story. Stop accepting Indian students entirely and you will see how this is fixed. 0 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @brettlongfield3291 YES, AS WELL AS TOO MANY IMMIGRANTS OF ALL TYPES! CANADA MUST SUPPORT ITS OWN CITIZENS FIRST! 0 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @SY-tn2io On top of the international students taking up the housing market, the country will taking more refugees from Ukraine this year. So where are they planning to house them? 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @dandy20ana Most of em come here to get a permanent residency, it's just that they have to go under student visa first. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @dougdotbee The graph at the beginning was a little misleading. Showing massive increase of 1m+ last year, that is actual number increase for a country of 40million now, which looks alarming (or impressive) on a graph. Back in the late 1950s we increased 600k on a population of 17m. Our growth RATE today is .85%, in 1959 it was 2.99%... it's not to many people people, it's too too few houses being built! 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @derek4490 Your destroying this country 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @rimiserk8277 Saying that international students are victims is beyond dumb. All international students are well aware of the situation when arriving to Canada. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @borjananadlacki6427 International students are not students at all, just fast visa to come in Canada. 37 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @aalampara7853 Only give 10,000 International Student Visa’s per year ! Even amongst 10,000 don’t overly biased towards Indians give fair chances to everyone! Give only 1 year work permit after studies! Ban completely giving International visa’s for colleges and puppy mills 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @aalampara7853 Don’t say International Students! Say Indian students ??? 90% of them India alone! Half of those are from Poonjaaab 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @aalampara7853 Federal government approving visa’s for puppy mills! ??? come on 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @shelley.hawks.art13 He bit off way too much, too fast. Like his push for EVs without establishing the infrastructural requirements. Trying to skip to the end at OUR COST as per usual. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @j0zHy1 Yes it's true and me as an international student regret coming to Canada. I already paid my scholarship so I'm staying here for 2 years and then I'm gone, everything it's so expensive and the money goes to housing. I can barely save money, only staying to know and explore beautiful landscapes :) 11 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @rachelk8368 Canada in 2019 had 60,000 non permanent residents ( ie students and temp workers) 2023 614k .\nThey MUST shut this down immediately 1 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @xnostalgiax Why don't these schools making record profits use some of that money to build student housing. Then they can just make more money off the students and help the housing crisis. 1 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @Whatzyourdeal 22 billion per year is nothing compared to what Trudeau spends. They’re not saving this country. It hasn’t gotten any better at all. Pierre Polievre and the people who vote for him will save the country. 2 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @ladjei19 Canada just want the money but don’t want to have responsibilities. They have no intention of training quality students. It’s just a scam 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @miguelcampbello8983 Yes, obviously. 3 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Glock7eventeen He said 900,000 international students. Well today, we broke 1 million. 36 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @aiubkhan5707 I immigrated here back in 2019, by the time I became a citizen in 2023, I was just astonished at the level of immigration and international students. I hate how schools exploit them for cash, their education quality is so so bad, its unimaginable, and you can't blame the teachers even, each class is like 300-450 students. The quality of education is so bad in Canada, I don't know if it was good before but I can only imagine it was since these universities are well known here. Students loans have become a business for banks and lenders and I guess that gave the universities ideas on making a business out of exploiting poor country's wealth though international students. 27 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @alfashion Trudeau and his global socialist government is out to lunch. 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @manmohan18 Yeah before 2015 Universities weren't surviving.\nI'm not against immigration, but when you have to pay $2000+ for lower than decent 2 bedroom apt. You know something isn't right. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Drganguli Unfortunately Canada has lowered its admission standards over the years. It risks downgrading its education system and sliding downwards 86 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @naturemeditation3751 many new immigrants who rushed in thinking canada was some honeypot are now leaving for good which is the most compelling reason why canada is not a destination to immigrate! unlike US there are no mechanisms in place for new immigrants to succeed with higher costs, unaffordable housing and taxes jobs are difficult to find and on top it to adjust as new migrants it’s very difficult so yes the canadian dream is very much over for most immigrants, international students can go anywhere for education it’s not a canadian specialty as such but most students came to canada because it allows them to do work after graduation but other countries are also catching up with attractive schemes to attract these students so it does look like lesser students are expected in canada from now on… 4 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @timi7911 With the rate of immigration increasing, Canadian born children will have no place in the future in terms of career, housing, etc and they might end up leaving Canada 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @PaulRudd1941 Wow xenophobia from the CBC. We have the capabilities to build more housing. What we dont have is the capacity for ignorant people to complain about immigration. Shame on the CBC for focusing on the numbers rather than the reason people around the world are immigrating here. \n\nIts the bbc migrant article all over again. Its garbage reporting. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Crowback354 Every single economist of ALL levels including government economists and top level bank economists telling the feds to stop or you will cause unrepairable damage and the feds choose to listen to American consultants peddling corporate slave owner ideology. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @brendanfields3691 Yes it is I live in canada it's getting ridiculous at this point Trudeau is so messed up it's not even funny anymore 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @NowAndToEternity I am not against international students coming here. Actually its good that young people wanna come here. However is it fair to ask if the government allows almost 1 million people to come, is it fair to ask the government to also at least build 500k new housing and all the support related to that like roads, hospitals, police stations, etc. if not then dont invite people over so they can fight each other for space to be able living here. That is just disrespectful!!!! 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @timi7911 It is a money making venture by Fed Govt. It's insane. And why are there so many Indians coming in as students. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @saidibrahim5931 Since 2015 more than 5 million students(Permanent resident) that's a huge number, with housing problems and jobs 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @yendayo international students is the easiest money making scheme. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @dagoudag International students is a great business for Canada bringing lots of money and prosperity to small and medium cities with small economies. Urban Jobs grow everywhere for international students like housing, restaurants, bars, bookstores, clothing stores, cinemas, hotels, public transport etc. I think most of them study here in Canada but then with their diploma they move to the United States. Why they don’t stay in Canada? 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @chrisqwerty This is all Trudeau's fault. Hold him to account! 9 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Alanom2007 If colleges don’t have money to survive without high numbers of international students, they should be CLOSED. We don’t need puppy mills.\nA city of 100k doesn’t need 10 colleges with enrollment of 5k students each\nAlso only allow international students in Universities not strip mall colleges 24 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @middleearthtroll6183 I work for the BC provincial government, and part of my job is to hunt for homes to house women who are escaping violence. After spending 3 months searching for homes in Surrey, I've seen anywhere between 10-22 individuals living in a modest sized home. These homes are often very well run-down, have poor plumbing, and many illegal suites, and I've literally seen people sleeping in closets. Landlords can get away with this because the students from India don't care, don't have a choice, or are used to this standard. What the federal government is doing is unbelievable, allowing many people into the country. Just because international students come from places where they can sleep on top of each other doesn't mean they should allow it to happen here, reducing the living standards for everyday tax-paying Canadians. Despicable. 299 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @arsh9113 [ Coming from a student ] - Nobody is to Blame beside THE GOVERNMENT! They mislead many international students to come here without even checking if the Colleges exist! They just kept giving visas to many students and when students reach here then they realize they made a big mistake especially after looking at the present bad economy and giving the tuition money to these money grabbers (GOVERNMENT AND COLLEGES). And to make it worse you have to pay 10k to the banks before coming which is now 20k and then the students pay 3 times the money compared to Canadian students, Which to pay-off, a lot of these students do all kind of jobs for so many hours a weeks just to pay the fees and their living bills. Hence, the reason for them not able to focus on their studies properly, less work for other folks and every other things which is effected. As a Student I was financially fine which was the main reason for my pretty much smooth journey here but not everyone has the same backups. I feel really bad for the students and hope this money grabbing madness stops and the immigration for at least 3- 4 years..... 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @sakanatsuri Make sure that they don't go to Food Bank! 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @ettietti8533 One issue you did not talking about is the international students taking the Canadian universities space from the Canadian citizen students. Especially for doctorate degrees canada government allowed only 3% of Canadian student to enter to this program the same as for dentist, laws and other this is unjust, and discrimination against the canadine citizen students after all those international students are not Canadian citizen and their English languish is the second languish, why a Canadian citizen student have to go to USA or other countries and pay doubles fees in order to get in to those programs. \nI want the government canada in order to make it right approving 97% of Canadian student application for those programs in all universities in canada and only 3% application for international students. This will resolve the discrimination issue, the houses crises, and the shorter of Canadian citizen doctor’s in canada. ?? 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @or8977 Literally all that needs to be done is close diploma mills. Legitimate Universities can only have so many seats in their programs 4 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @ed-ology6575 Stop accepting people from entering Canada, we are overloaded already. Stop being so greedy just to collect tuition money from international students. 0 eP02h50KIOA
