2 years, 3 months ago @boblee5271 Just benefiting those who own papermill or puppymills and taxpayers putting the bill for services. No other developed economies doing this. Look at Australia and UK. Get real. You are paying for handful of people to get rich while middle class is being denied of basic services you paid for. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @gmdicki Nova Scotians need to vote out Tim Houston. That would help. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @MrBamshy How about limiting intake to the number of room and boarding each school can provide and government should provide some funding for this schools so they don't go into these practices which should also reduce the tuition burden on the international students being ripped off. 0 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @ivanpopovic1266 Too many immigrants. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @larrybethune3909 Yes. Next question please. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @shuntguy Canada is no longer a country but an economic zone. Just a bunch of people living in the same place. Every study on the issue says the same thing. The more homogeneous the population, the more cohesive the society.Just look at Japan and Korea. This is all part of the WEF plan to destabilize the West. Cause the fall of the nation state and place us under the control of the globalist cabal. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @guynicklin271 Solution is simple. Let Universities house their international students in student housing. Thats your cap. If they dont want to build student housing for their money tree puppy mill, dont let them have the international students. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @eaglepep1 One would think with all the money the Canadian Government has provided the CBC last year (1.3 billion CND by their own admission), they could do a better job of the quality of audio production of this video. I normally can play most videos with my volume set to 30% of maximum volume, but this video requires me to increase the volume to 50% to be able to hear what the CBC News commentator was saying. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @trevor2719 I rode the city bus in my city 13 years ago daily and it came once an hour and was barely ever occupied. Now its got 3 times as many buses on the same route and they are always packed... with THEM! 6 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @richiebanks7551 Immigration is less integral to the economy than we think. A trivial increase GDP growth wage growth, is meaningless when housing costs can go up 20% per year. Even other costs are going up because retailers rent is so damn high. I have a family member who is dying because of healthcare backlogs and i have untreated injuries right now because the doctor told me it would be a 6 month wait for a cat scan. Im scared for the future, but at least they gave us MAID . 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @AbdulHannan-uv6ym Solve the supply side of equation. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @estycki I remember the international students were pouring in when I was in university in 2010, I was confused how half my class could barely speak English when we were under enormous pressure in high school to write perfect essays with citations O.o they just threw all those standards out the window 41 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @genedoroschuk7319 Yes canada should focus on canadian students that can't afford education, that means better jobs and more taxes coming in by canadian ❤ 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @kaze987 So if the problem is international student numbers are too high, who is to blame? Does each post-secondary institution monitor and limit the students that they take in? Should this be regulated by the govt or should the onus be placed on each PSI to ensure that for each int'l student they accept, they must ensure they have adequate access to affordable housing. More and more govt involved in our lives vs the ability of schools to self-police themselves.\n\nI like this About That series. CBC, keep it up! 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @yoachu They need to get rid of those consultants back in foreign countries who misguide kids to take up useless courses in those shady colleges. College/Universities needs to prequalify students before admitting them to a particular course and by that way it’s easy to filter out candidates based on the current job requirements. Having a territorial cap is just a smokescreen by liberals. Canadian economy doesn’t need more sandwich makers or food delivery drivers, be it be in Saskatchewan or Manitoba. Territorial cap is actually gonna backfire because it shuts doors to intellectual kids who would foster innovation and drive the economy. \n\nWe need politicians who could think logically and voters who promotes those ! 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @ks351 Well Canadians better support Canadian universities depending on foreign students instead of building residences 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @nyk3334 This is by design. Cultural Marxism is treason. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @APoxyR8 International students also empty out food banks in Ontario. Not enough food for actual citizens in need. Pretty sad situation. And these international students mostly from India go broke and exploited by fellow Indian employers. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @cyrilwingnek-qw1ik In Winnipeg we have a lot\nAll they do is try to make trouble.\nNo boundaries.\nTry so hard to get five inches in your personal space. All for a reaction. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @johnsmitty7447 remember when the government said u had to take the vaccine because hospitals were overloaded and then the same government imported 3 million more people without building 1 hospital 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Bedtimephilosophy The irony of the situation is Canadians are somehow thinking it’s the student’s fault for coming to Canada. Your government is literally scamming students and it’s really getting out of hand. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @jaycommonsense2468 How much more will the government contiue to screw the millenials and gen x? The first mistake we made was relying on student money all that student money will have to go towards knocking poverty . This is not a win win situation, things are already out of control , how much worse do they want things to get ? They have no clue what to do know ???? 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @GAD00SH Trudy needs his taxes! More people, more taxes, more SPENDING! ? 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @2210-gn2zw Before the arrival of the students, sky high rents for a one bedroom and defecation on beaches in Canada was unheard of 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @DRPL766 The international students won't stay.. silent discrimination is very high in Canada. The taxes are also incredibly high and we don't get enough in return 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @anwernasir226 Way too many This has to be stopped .Too little too late 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @alexxx7066 Lmao ? ? ? 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @SaveCanadianValues14736 And why are soooo many of them out of status and turning to criminality?? 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @DRPL766 I don't think we are accepting too many students. I think we are failing hardcore at keeping up with the population growth though. Also the rules surrounding immigration is not good enough 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @lagvin719ify there's nothing wrong with Canada educating the world but it shouldn't be a direct pathway for permanent residency. The other thing that Canada has to check is the quality of education that these students are getting. I spoke to some and they say that they didn't learn much 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @kamenidriss It's almost as if this gov't wants to destroy our country! 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @inamoy9937 Foreign student having multiple jobs are not here for school but to work. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @tati8577 Moreover, recently food banks raised the alarm that international students emptying them (going to multiple locations, abusing the policy) mostly in western part of GTA....? at the time when straggling Canadians can't get food. 21 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @UrEarth Stop immigrants 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @BW022 Even if you are for immigration... there is another issue with this... Canada already has one of the highest rates of post secondary education in it's own population (something like 40% now) and with immigrants coming through other economic categories. It needs low-skilled workers far more than it needs university graduates due to is massively low birth rate. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @JohnDoe-jf8sn Universities in Canada has become a PONZI SCHEME 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Ke875 Some of them come , right after grade 12 only one thing in their mind to get immigration! Most of them come to get same degree management or hospitality managing hotels ! These degrees don’t get them anywhere ! They all want live Vancouver Toronto no one wants to go to Manitoba Saskatchewan and up North ! People open up private colleges, have little room to teach them on line classes ! Money grab ! No one give them right information before they leave their country! We got not many skill student only business digress! Student from Indian love to get their PAR ! It cost them too much money to get here, but then they have to work hard to pay for their fees , or they have to buy work permit , it cost 35 to 50 thouesd to buy work permit as long as they work for same people for two year, not making that much money ! Life becomes hard ! 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @LSnew1224 People think its an easy thing as a full stop on students would do. Its not as easy because that inflow of cash should be replaced with somewhere in the economy, if not citizens will have to pay for it by increased taxes and goods of all products would still rise including housing. Then yes housing will be sufficient but even though demand reduces, prices wont be budging. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @shhh3683 I'm south asian, stop the immigration from South asia/middle east and africa for at least 5 years or start making strict requirements for immigration 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @pujiea simple, only allow competitive programs or universities. These universities are already milking their international students for $85k a year in top programs. $85k a year is crazy, 4 times than native students, provide better service to your international students rather than just trying to find ways to milk them. At least provide better cafe food like US top unis and housings. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @mortus88 Stop capping our resource sectors so much , start ramping up the procurement and processing of those resources . Our processes are way more eco friendly than the other main international providers . It would help drastically reduce emissions from non eco friendly sources while providing our economy with the huge boom it needs to upgrade our housing production and infrastructure. Look at the real stats on our worldwide emissions... Canadas emissions are a tiny blip of the worldwide emissions ... our government acts like we're this massive air pollutant scourge and we just aren't. We can go net zero pretty fast of we stop stepping all over our energy and resource sectors ... then immigration would be supportable ... 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @alexmah6459 Right on the dot, the main reason is MONEY, TUITION MONEY. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @allidusedup University inflation won't pay for itself lol 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @MaahirMomtaz12 Crazy that it's gotten so bad that even CBC is covering it 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Swarup-r1h There is a 86% drop in Indian students in Canada and I hope it rises to 100%... Canada isn't a safe nation for Indians, so no need for us to be there 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @jithinrajanvarghese5128 So much hate for indians , so sad to see that.? 0 eP02h50KIOA
