2 years, 3 months ago @scammergammer What a balanced and thoughtful article. So un-CBC. Keep up the good work. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @juselara02 It is actually so hard to understand for me. I don’t wanna sound rude of self agrandizing but I came to Canada as a Latin American international student, fluent in English and French, with an engineering degree and a master’s in Finance and a lot of years of experience working in Fintech and My visa application was HARD!, I had to proof everything and save a lot of money and all that.\n\nI see however, other fellow international students and wonder: “How the hell did they got here?”. Little to no English, no funds, no degrees, studying useless programs in garage colleges. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @annaporter3442 Food banks are now closing in my area because these students are now going there for free food. Food banks were not set up to feed international students!! 128 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @Snu_Snuu you should be scared of the charted flights coming in with cult followers and not just students 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @SaltySteff All this does is create tensions among the immigrants and the natural born citizens. I know plenty of people who are becoming openly hostile to immigrants and international students. 1 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @mariefaisal98 Is it all about accepting international studients, or the facts remained, are they being fairly treated ?. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @tarazieminek1947 Require the universities to provide housing included with tuition for international students. That would solve several problems (it would make it more difficult for the diploma mills, for starters). 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @babyganga8786 They are, too many people in downtown kids buying bubble tea. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @alexlongfield2113 We don't need more homes, we need to slow down and be more selective with immigration. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @alexlongfield2113 Yes, way too many. God love 'em but we need to educate our own students. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @ALK730 The purpose of immigration is to strengthen a country. It is not unreasonable to set limits on different types of immigrants in order to keep Canadas economy strong. 8 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @PiroskaBata I used to teach and coordinate programs for international nurse, this is spot on - and I have always wondered about Canadian students getting into programs - we need Canadian students who are talented and want to study but cannot afford it. There is so much i could unpack. In general, most of the students are lovely and hard-working, but the intent in most cases is to get a PR status - so most of them stay. Many also are disappointed with Canada - as they may come from a place where they were in a different social class. I know many of my students now are productive members of Canadian society working in their chosen fields. I am proud of them - as the move was not easy and they left their families behind. Considering that most of the world is a collectivist culture versus our individualist culture of the West, there is much to adjust to. Good piece. 54 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @EdwardChan.999 As an Internation student from Hong Kong, I'm glad I only have to pay 5x the local tuition rate at Western U, instead of 10x at UoT... and yeah I can confirm that Western's conditional offer for my enrollment was to attend a HK pre-university exam. Just attendence, not even requiring a passing grade. 1 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @pamelayt5038 it would be okay if Canada had housing but there's a shortage of places for these students to live and no obvious plan how to fix this problem 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Breath_Is_Life Canada is not a country, Canada is a corporation. https://www.sec.gov/edgar/browse/?CIK=230098 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @johnb5519 Immigration is out of hand. Our hospitals are overrun, plus all other services, and social programs. No country can sustain the effect of such an onslaught. What gives any government, elected by the people to look after their best interests, the power to over rule the will of the majority, when it comes to such matters. This isn't democracy, it's a dictatorship. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @annwethenorth It must be worse that we thought if you're talking about it. Yes, duhhhhhh 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @amjadjaki Why not allowing other countries international students and only Indian? 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @youtubehatesus2651 defund the CBC. Trudeau's propaganda, our tax dollars 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @youtubehatesus2651 Canada is being destroyed. People living here can't afford life. Trudeau, Freeland, Singh and the CBC have destroyed our country. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @LMNSeason Carbon tax is also increasing the cost of transport, materials and labor. This is making construction and renovations very expensive. Tax is also going up and interest rates. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @petepete2284 Sounds like the College problem, is how the housing problem started. Its greed and the notion that everything has to get better and better. But to stay competitive (greed) one must keep up with the times. So put a stop to the low time Collages. Put a stop to increasing immigrants . Put a stop to Trudeau .He is an imaginary fool. NOW is the time. Not a culpa years from now. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @sunshinerain1577 Yes and they are taking up the jobs. Pretty sad that our food banks have signs up saying NO international students. Oh and housing!! Student housing. And you say international students, but why is it all Indians? Something is not right I've been saying this. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @siegfridmast This is not a question. It is a reality. There are too many foreign students. 0 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @marysmith6681 College students can’t find jobs after graduation, and university is a vampire! Many parents spend their entire life saving or work hard to send their children to college 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @megabrex Would be nice if they would have mentioned the use of these student visa as a method of bringing in indentured servants... but hey at least they gave this a half assed look. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @VeveIndian How on earth is there no cap on international student intake? Why is Canadian govt so very poor with planning? 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @dbhupinder91 Also the college courses are completely garbage. No real job after you graduate. They usually do business diploma and drive truck or work at convenience store to get permanent residence. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @TonyMontana-xv4lc No wonder there more tents popping up on Toronto streets.\nStop selling foreign investors homes. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @wickertwm There are many international students who are not going to school or studying. They are taking advantage of loop holes in the Foreign Students Act that lets them take on jobs and work towards getting permanent residence. Some are using the educational system, but not all. They are taking advantage of our legislation to jump the que in obtaining permanent residence in Canada. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @donaldcook3273 The answer is yes. Those students know that it is a ticket to stay. A foot in the door. They are a strain on government services, housing, food banks and most come here without proper resources that is one of the requirements for entry. Even if they pay more it shouldn't take spaces that Canadian should be entitled to. They take jobs that belong to Canadians, housings that belong to Canadians. In london ontario close to 12 thousand international students take up the affordable housing for people of london. This causes so much distress on the low income people try to find a place .Then greed of developers and landlords causes the rents to go up so much that those on fixed incomes can't afford there rents and rent evictions happen as landlord look to cash in . Time to stop this madness. Local government in london has done little to stop this issue either. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @TMN555 Don't want them, don't need them, the end.\n\nLove listening to the people whine in this story too, no one is stopping you from returning to India, etc. 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @jacquidawn1 Is it really realistic for the handful of European created societies to absorb, and take care of every other culture to the point of being minorities themselves? Who the hell is running these shows? Clearly theres no plan to slow or stop this process. I, for one, predict major civil unrest in the near future. I hope Im wrong. 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @MarkMark-xz4ff Wow! CBC left comments open ? 4 eP02h50KIOA

2 years, 3 months ago @briankroger7879 We never had all these problems before Trudeau took office. Thats just a fact. 6 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Beyondlast Canada shares border only with USA. All the immigrants are coming through a system which’s is established by government . If the government is unable to control the immigration and unable to run the country smoothly then they should just resign 2 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @jamiejohnson3345 Look at CBC, finally pretending to care about issues that Canadians actually care about...? 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @azraghaffar2613 Enough immigration. Please provide housing and jobs to citizens first and then open up immigration. Because of the international students our students are not getting hours and we as parents have to support them or take OSAP. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @Beyondlast Suddenly a year before election government is awakened . People should dump incapable liberal ndp coalition 1 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @alsosean You only need to look at the fees international students pay vs local students as to why universities accept so many foreign students. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @marktep1225-xh2qh Incompetent leadership is to blame. 0 eP02h50KIOA
2 years, 3 months ago @gregmurdoch3264 Canada is accepting to many people. We have a massive housing shortage, and when we can't house our own people, we shouldn't work on housing outsiders. It's an objective scale. We should outright stop accepting new people until our housing situation is fixed. 0 eP02h50KIOA
