2 years, 8 months ago @cherrypickerguitars Being born in Canada is like getting dealt 4 aces in a poker game! Well….maybe 3 aces - until we get rid of Trudeau! Lol! 8 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jefffisher1995 Im a western Canadian and lived in Montana for 2 years and it felt like home to me. 4 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @robertweese9656 Good conversation Tyler I have a best friend and a sister who lives in USA 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @t.a.k.palfrey3882 I have MS. My meds alone in the US would cost over $10,000 a month. In addition, I need on-call nursing cover lest I fall at home, and to help with showering. For all of this cover I pay about $20 a month here. 16 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Bigal3031 I've never waited more than 20 minutes to see a Dr here in Canada 4 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @dcrot9109 oh come on : availability and of course and quality of care and renown medical doctors are available as well in canada . OMG ,,,,,,,,... go to a medical clinic on the corner in nearly in every neighbourhood or go to ones own doctor, or if one is indeed dire they would go to the emergency room where *triage* is done. (depending on severity and you may have to wait) and yes smaller towns have less waiting time then do larger cities that have over a million populations one would expect or experience a seemily longer wait time at a hospital emergency then the many many many smaller towns and cities in canada also. duh 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @lindsayambler9706 I live in BC..raised 4 Kids...if there was a serious health problem, We saw a Specialist in just a few Days.. 11 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @DanielleSRussell Hate to tell you, but Upstate New York is actually closer to Toronto than it is to NYC, about a 2 hour drive from Toronto, and as much as a 5 or 6 hour drive from NYC. 9 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jjjones4982 The only Canadian I know who moved to the US has moved back for the safety net, PS he was a doctor 45 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @lmc2938 We talk about moving back to the US, but the medical coverage stops us dead. Haven't seen a health care bill in 19 years, since moving to Canada. Its freer in Canada. \n\nIt's freer in the sense that our basic needs are seen too. We pay high taxes in Canada to have a social umbrella, that is not available in the States. I lived in MA and worked in human services and in the education system. They have to fight for every nickel every year. The tension in these environments is high. Lots of fund raising, lots of volunteer duties, low pay. Not that way in Canada. 74 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @michaeldowson6988 I'm not the flag waving sort, and Canada has room for improvement, but I'm damned glad I was born here, rather than anywhere else. 837 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jeffgkinzel thanks 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @sjlcanada i get that second person wanting to move back to canada. yes healthcare has super long wait times (ontario and quebec) but its free. Whereas usa, a mother that just gave birth can rack up thousands of dollars for a couple week stay from what i hear. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @assassin77FTW I'm a Canadian living in US. At first it was alright, i sent my son to school with his best friend Mr Gunman. He never came back 3 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @TheJShiggs They probably had to pay us because their live in the states. You have to live in Canada for a number of days to get healthcare coverage. 7 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @c24peach It boggles my mind that it costs money to give birth. So wrong. It's just fundamentally wrong. 79 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @erniescabin4256 trouble on both sides the world is going down hill fast enjoy life as much as you can where ever you are 3 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JoannDavi Reddit -- a reliable source -- not 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JoannDavi A lot more Canadians move to the US than vice versa.\nWhy? There are world class unis, big salaries and the opportunity for fame in the US. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JoannDavi Did you know?\nWhile most countries have a housing shortage (except for China which has the opposite problem), Canada has the biggest shortage of any advanced economy. That's what happens when you let a bunch of people it, but construct very little new housing. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JoannDavi Support plucky Israel!\nThankfully: It may be much smaller than Canada, but it has a much better military than Canada. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @KGUdle As a Newfoundlander who likes hunting and agrees with having the right to protect yourself, not all Canadians hate the USA. I cant see myself leaving Newfoundland but if i did, id probably choose a place like rural west Virginia. Plus getting da f*ck away from Trudeau would be a plus... God bless buddy... 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 8 months ago @JoRiver11 This made me feel bad for you Tyler. I have a feeling that because folks from the US are raised on the story that their country is the best country in the world, it's harder to believe that other people don't share that view and have no desire to live there. \nBit of a painful eye opener. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 8 months ago @zabmathieu Born and raised in Québec, but my parents now live in North Carolina. When I retire I'll be spending half the year there and half the year here. You asked if there was a reason to move to the States. For my parents, it was a great job opportunity for my dad. Now, they are retired and living on the beach. They don't regret it for a second. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 8 months ago @NikkiBly I have a chronic pain disability. I can't even fathom trying to manage that in the US healthcare system. Like Tyler mentioned, that alone is enough of a reason for me. 2 party system is also a hard no (even though it hurts that we're not much better right now). Gun culture is a no for me, it's not an environment I care to be a part of. I hesitate to use safety at school as an example because I remember when Taber followed on the heels of Columbine (I was in grade 9 that year). There's a lot up here in Canada that we need to improve, but with what I value as a Canadian I certainly would feel like I was downgrading if I moved to the US. Heck, as an Albertan even moving to another province would feel like a downgrade to me since I have no PST where I live, we're rat free, I live within an hour of the Rocky Mountains, etc. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 8 months ago @doeburgundy Maritimer here: I remember going to a small town in Maine for my cousin's funeral a few years back (half my family is American), and when we were checking-in at the hotel, there was a couple taking their suitcases out of the trunk of their car. The man had a handgun tucked in the back of his pants, and I remember the feeling I got seeing it when he bent over. It was pure Fear. In my mind, this man could kill me or my family in an instance if he wanted to. To me, that was the scariest thought, it felt so wrong that it was normal to carry a weapon. \n\nMind you, we have guns in Canada, they are mainly used for hunting or gun ranges, and you need a licence, which you need to pass a test if you want to go hunting with it. I guess growing up in Canada made me think that guns are dangerous and should be kept away from people... so hearing about the children's safety concerns around guns.. is probably because to us, guns out in the public is inconceivable... even worse around children. \n\nWhen there's a shooting in Canada, it's not a feeling that is reserved for the town or city where it happened. The country in its entirety mourns, it becomes Our issue. Anyways, I know my response is months late, but I felt compelled to share. :P 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 8 months ago @debbie541 move to usa, never visit usa, never 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 8 months ago @dcrot9109 no never, and not even to visit anymore . 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @lancerbiker5263 Blind bias ? The numbers show that from the 2000–01 to 2020–21 school years, there were 11 to 93 annual shootings with injuries or deaths at public and private elementary and secondary schools. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @lorenzobello8759 Tabernac simply means tabernacle. But when you spit it out, like saying Jesus Christ after hitting your thumb with a hammer. the meaning changes entirely 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @mattsamoto4451 You act like people can just up and move. Hoseing prices are outrageous, and alot cannot afford to just move 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @mattsamoto4451 My French speaking relatives Moved from USA to Quebec, to be with the rest of the fam. I asked them about it, and they said best choice they ever made. I have to agree. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @CaptHollister The fact that Tyler is surprised at how many people bring up school shootings as a reason to stay away from the US is a scary indication of how much this type of violence has become normalized. I'm Canadian and throughout my professional life I've spent time working in the US. In fairness, I've met some truly great people. Also in fairness, religion seeps into US politics in ways that it never does in Canada and never in a good way. Christian fundamentalism is a scary reality of US life intent as it is on heaping hate on sexual minorities and taking away rights wherever they are allowed to. An additional point, but this one is only an irritant, is how ignorant so many Americans are about the world. At any rate, I'm retired and live with advanced kidney disease and a pacemaker. For those reasons alone I couldn't afford to live in the US. Thankfully, my country takes good care of me and my provincial government (Québec) even covers most of the cost of my expensive prescription drugs. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @shannonbeals3477 Not ever. Even if you said I would be stinking rich. No way the people are world informed well most and our family is safe. And if you are sick or in need of mager health care you don't have to sell everything to get the care you need. Hell no not ever. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @DosBear Hell NO!!! American's think everyone is rushing to get into the country but that is only so they can get to Canada. LMAO 1 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @SupaSillyThyme no. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @myoutdooradventures6378 I'm not sue what most of you are talking about Canada being safe ?? Gang shootings and killings everyday , car jackings. There are homeless camps everywhere. All the rest stops along hwy 1 in BC are full of people living in rv's and trailers, drug use everywhere. Our health care is free because its terrible. Every hospital is badly understaffed, patients have their beds in hallways. If you want anything done quickly you have to pay and get it done privately anyways. Oh cant forget our taxes. Gotta love the made up carbon tax. I pay 52% income tax. Food and gas prices are way higher because of all our tax. And last but not least real estate and rent cost. Average detached house in the greater Vancouver area is almost 1.3 million dollars and the average rent for a 2 bedroom in Vancouver is $3900. I was born and raised here this is not the same country I grew up in and was a proud citizen of. Our country has fallen. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @ChrisTorris No way in He... oh wait, Im Canadian...... ?‍? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @Toldyasogirl Tyler, there's been at least 2 school ? shootings ? in every state in the US. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @Toldyasogirl HOW come you never mention what State you live in Tyler? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @Toldyasogirl We have Starbucks and McDonald's and our large drinks are just as big, and between your gun culture, healthcare and political climate is beyond me, so ahh no, I wouldn't move to America. It's nice to visit the US but I'd never move there. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @timzzz9963 I'd move there. Gun rights and freedom to protest are right up my alley 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @neishacushing7280 Fearing that your child will be shot in school in the US is not baseless. Being shot at school is now the number one cause of death for American children. That simply is not an issue here and a primary reason most would not move there. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @affordabledesertliving3487 As a Canadian now living in Arizona who is a retiree I simply love the weather and I have some wonderful friends. I prefer to be here and enjoy the snow free areas and amazing weather. That said I had an appendicitis operation on easter weekend. Even with medicare and a supplemental insurance I will be paying about 2600.00 U.S. I still have a totally Canadian worldview for the most part and simply have to keep quiet most of the time when it comes to discussions about things going on here. ie. Red vs Blue. I recognize that I am in a foreign culture and for example the passion for guns is a odd odd concept for me. Growing up hunting and owning guns makes me even more puzzled. ie. guns are for harvesting game. period. As long as I remember that American culture has some really odd things about it. (I draw the comparison to some nation abroad that believes in female circumcision or something) then I am fine. I tend to be easy going about it all and I survive fine here. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @blessedveteran I am an American currently traveling in Canada. This is my second summer here. If it wasnt for the freezing cold up here, i would start my paperwork to move here permanently. Most likely, I will continue to be here as long as I dont freeze ?every year. I am so over the US and how sick it has become. When I go back to the States, I worry constantly about my safety. Here I never have. 5 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @stewartbonner no way in hell. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @jean-philipperoussy6610 That video made me laugh en Tabarnak lmaooo 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @davemacmurchie6982 Hey, Tyler - I do usually find your videos interesting and understand that cluelessness is part of the shtick, but do you have to take it so far? Don't forget that Americans have a universal stereotype of ignorance, so a little goes a long way. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @JoeNerdShow HELL NO AND YEAH HELL OF USA BIAS. COME TO CANADA OR SOMEWHEREELS FOR A YEAR AND SEE IF YOUD MOVE BACK! 0 O0gJtVar7_E
2 years, 9 months ago @morninboy I would never move to USA, that being said, I also will not visit again. It is just uncomfortable going down there when one fears guns and the police. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
