2 years, 8 months ago @concernedcitizen3476 I would argue that the quality of care is not higher than the world class hospitals of Toronto 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @concernedcitizen3476 Cannabis is so cheap here 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @concernedcitizen3476 My Nephew had to pay 8000 for childbirth 17 years ago. I hear they charge new moms a fee to hold their own baby 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @johnthompson7836 Tyler, in terms of you reacting to canada gets stuff late....i was in seattle at a bar, one hour away from our border, this guy at a club said you're so money. i said nice swingers quote and he could not believe i had seen the movie, i told him we get all the movies he does and it blew his mind that we had theaters in Canada. Also, Toronto sucks. lol 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @kyesnana The person who moved from Toronto to Seattle….the weather is better? You live in the Pacific Northwest…same as Vancouver BC! BC and Washington State have the same weather systems! It’s the exact opposite of Toronto! We are one of the highest minimum wages in Canada. Also….if you want ethnic foods Vancouver is the place to be. So many types it’s delightful! It’s like having the world in our own city. ❤️?? 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @ProudCanadianartist For mixed race or non white people, the USA tends to be a bit scary. Yes I have travelled a lot in the USA but always felt as though I had to keep a wary eye out. VERY stressful. Canada is calmer and the people not as confrontational.. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @kevinchoong3485 Don't think the upstate New York was aimed at New York City. When Canadians refer to upstate New York, we usually mean cities like Albany, Syracuse, or Buffalo. We don't consider NYC as upstate New York. 7 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @carolleather5992 Americans take criticism very well. Brits don’t we give attitude so I’m impressed. I also backpacked around US and loved it to bits. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jaybea365 did you say 50-100 bucks is a paycheck? Either the US dollar is *very* strong, y'all are paid daily, or that was a mindless comment. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @olehlytviak8552 I used to hear “ east west home is best “, mostly the home country seems ,somehow, better ! 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @cthymnn2010 I have travelled to the US a lot for over 50 years. I do not feel nearly as safe there now except for post 9/11 NYC. I am terrified to discuss politics there now. It is a country that has some spectacular natural attributes like Yosemite, Big Sur, Adirondacks etc. I used to think Florida was great but am really hesitant to go there now. Culturally it has a tremendous amount to offer, I was shocked at how incredibly sleazy Hollywood Blvd was. Overall I am really concerned about the deterioration of moral values that seems to be happening. 25 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @sandyhickey8236 The question asked to the Canadians was how has your experience been compared to Canada. You can't disagree with their experience because it was their experience...lol. I'm born and bred in Canada. I went to the States for 4 yrs in MO. Luckily for me I had no health issues and did not live in a big city there however I missed everything about Canada and came back home. I live in a border city here so most of our news come from the States. Seeing how it is over there now, I would never go back to live 17 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @IRQ1Conflict As a Canadian, I am convinced most people here have blinders on. Canada is on the brink of collapse both fiscally and morally.\n\nJust watch as our illiberal government continues to wreak havoc. It won't be long now. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Dezturbed I mean no offence by this but my wife and I love your content because you really seem like the average American and we are super interested in all the gaps in your education and experiences. no insult at all but as a Canadian I am baffled by how you guys just don't talk about things that need to be discussed. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @philparisi9175 As for Police professionalism, why don’t we ask the families of George Floyd or Brianna Taylor or this person or the last person in person we could go on forever on the whole Police in the United States bullies with very tiny penises, and they need to make up for it with their guns, and their loud, ridiculous smiles, and the bullying and killing other people who happen to be black 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @johnam1234 I really enjoyed your videos and comments plus learning more about the world around us. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @philparisi9175 Socialization isn’t the problem. Education is the problem and institutionalized racism combined. Make certain areas of \nThe United States disgusting. And it’s not New England or the West Coast or the Midwest so it’s not east north or west so if you want disgusting you only have one option left. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @philparisi9175 The person who is upset with the poverty in upstate New York, and Check Jawanda Tawanda, or whatever the hell it is up there, Buffalo I guess I wonder if they drove down to New York City outside of Manhattan for you or the entire state of Mississippi or Alabama they live in glorious poverty. Upstate New York would look like the Taj Mahal compared to Mississippi. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @lalaj5831 My sister in the U.S. paid $12,000.00 to have her son. I felt bad when I told her my bill was for $25.00 in Canada, only because I wanted a phone in my semi-private room. 98 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @andywthwhatthehell1255 I am very proud Canadian. I have never been able to visit the United States. I can never see myself moving to United States for many reasons. One reason. Your political system is a disaster currently. Plus for some reason. One of United States political parties are refusing to do something about daily mass shooting. Then you adding health care system that clearly favor the rich and middle class and poor will get second rate health care and paying out pocket. \nMaybe I go visit(with bulletproof vest of course) the United States. But to live there. No. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @ItApproaches That person who says they're an ethnic minority, They clearly aren't an actual Canadian, sounds like an immigrant who just bounces around places. They probably had to pay out of pocket in Canada due to whatever program they were using to work here. As for making more in the USA, i'm unsure what the ratio is, but obviously lots of immigrants come to the USA, like Canada, where they just get free housing, a free job, free education then they leave the country after getting all the free treatment. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @chrissanderson4622 My family lived in California years ago. My father’s boss told him that if either he or his family get sick, don’t head for the hospital, head for the airport and fly back to Canada 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @calvincharlie999 I can see why that one women who killed her baby did that. 3000 - 10000 for child birth is crazy. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @debs11100 Right now in the world there are many tragedies happening, one is in the states, where because of right wingers and magats your country is the laughing stock of the world. They used to be a leader on the world stage. Thank God for Biden. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @gordosomewhere816 I don't go to Tim Horton's, never eaten poutine, hate ketchup chips but I like hockey so I guess I'll stay in Canada. Besides that moving is a hassle. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @V1sual3y3z A lot of Canadians who do move to the US, do so for career development and advancement. My cousin moved to the US and works in IT. He makes like, 5x what he could staying in Canada. He, with his family, is staying and never plans to come back.\nAdditionally, I think the thing that Canadians appreciate about our health care is that we don't have to think abut it. We don't have to assume that giving birth or going to the doctor will cost and that the cost may have some variability. It jut makes it way less stressful, as health scares are stressful enough as they are. But it is true that availability is an issue. I'd say our quality of care isn't too far behind, but I'm not particularly knowledgeable on that. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @ItApproaches I wonder if by social safety net he means that Canada's reputation...aka meaning not worried about a war happening or being attacked or all the drama that the American's deal with. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @larimatolaganon4946 I developed hypertension, causing my first child to be 5 weeks pre-mature. I had to be flown on the ambulance plane to a city over 7 hour drive away. We stayed for over a month in the hospital, both of us needing medicines. It didn't cost me a thing other than my meals after I was checked out. I do not want to know what that would have cost in the States. 54 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @felderup heh, quality, yah, time to check out what other nations ban in food that is allowed in yours. gibson and harley aside i mean. as to paying out of pocket in toronto... if you're not in a place long enough to establish residency, yeah, you're gonna pay, possibly through the nose. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Dimcle Tyler, you referred to stereotypes and that that applied to how people view the U.S. as well. What you don't realize is that Canadians know so much more about the U.S. and our views are seldom stereotypes. We are absolutely inundated with American influence every day on every issue. 200 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jodikydd It’s not just the cost of giving birth, but also the lack of paid leave afterwards. Canada offers 12-18 months for new parents with employment insurance and most employers top that up for some portion. The US still has no national requirements for leave. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @judyyurchuk4904 Just because it costs more... doesn't make it better. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @real_lostinthefogofwar Child birth in Canada $0.00, co pay for doctor $0.00 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @judyyurchuk4904 No pre-conceived notions....I live 1 hour from the border...I also lived in Norwalk ct for a year. I couldn't wait to go home. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @danjennings8618 I live on the border of Ontario and Michigan. Never lived there but visited on countless times for up to a month. I can't imagine living there with my health issues. I have multiple sclerosis, had 2 brain surgeries, shoulder and hip replacement and diabetic. No cost at all for my surgeries but as a Canadian I complain about paying for my insulin needles since they aren't covered 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @leuman3104 Yes Canada is better for care but at my hospital you can wait 12 to 15 hour on the emergency waiting room. Montreal same, Québec same. Thats why you are call a patient, because you need it to wait. 3 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @paulvez6296 One of the most insane thing about the health costs in the U.S. is that there's a fee of more or less 40$ if you want to hold your newborn in the delivery room. And they have no shame by including it expressly in the hospital bill. 31 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @billmeek4777 You're right , if you are rich or a high earner, sure anywhere can be sort of good,,, but if you are normal or poor you are screwed ,,, especially if you're not white ,,, a lot of craziness, and not getting better 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @gillianarchibald7963 I had 3 children in Canada. Total cost $35.00 yes, thirty five dollars. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @christinefougere Can you imagine paying to give birth. I had a C section was in hospital for 7 days. It didn't cost me a dime. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @SandiMacIver we lived in the USA for 14 years and actually because citizens before we moved back to Canada, and to this day, maintain dual citizenship. The health care was the biggest difference. Fighting with health care providers to get them to pay their portion of a bill was the WORST. They automatically turn down every claim the first time around so you have to get on the phone and fight with them. In the USA, you can only see doctors within your health care provider, or you have to pay full on to see someone outside it. You also have to pay to see your family doctor even if its for a annual check up. NONE of that happens in Canada. Health care in Canada is provided by the government. Health care in America is a BUSINESS, and they are all fighting for your $$. Being self employed in the USA was an eye opener, with a $1100. a month premium, so that we had a reduced annual deductible. No deductible or monthly premiums in Canada. Americans should NOT HAVE TO DECLARE BANKRUPTCY just because they get sick. Otherwise, we loved living there. Great people, awesome Mexican food (you can't get that in Canada), beautiful beaches and excellent access to them. Amazing highway systems,. At the time we lived there, housing was affordable, food and clothing were cheaper than Canada. None of that is true these days. You guys pay as much as we do for food and shelter. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @terryzanger7152 Pretty sure the woman who was pregnant was mostly concerned about no mandantory maturity leave. Not health car so much.\nThat said it is common for Alaska couples with no health insurance to come to the whitehorse yukon hospital to have their babies. They pay for the services but save a lot compared to the cost in Alaska. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @VComps When you say that most people get along fine with your system of healthcare, it should be pointed out that statistics indicate that 500,000 families a year in the US go bankrupt due to medical expenses. 8 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @noadlor Tyler, it is refreshing to see an American who is open minded to accept other people's experiences and not take it personally. Always enjoy these videos you share, and your responses. 143 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @barryt2666 Guns in public, corrupt police, bad-no-expensive health care options, blatant hatred in the south, backwards rights issues, and the possibility of a corrupt, hateful xenophobic republican ( take your pick) as an elected autocrat? Hmmm... 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @georginalahey3772 The USA has: no gun control laws, voter suppression, voter intimidation, no decent health care, health care insurance is sketchy, a republican party that cannot govern themselves never mind the nation, a big orange moron walking free and the list grows longer....... 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @annemarie3140 Our emergency rooms are always packed and a normal wait time is 6 to 12 hours. Often longer than that. Millions without a family doctor too. These things make it horrible. Ppl RANT about a possible co pay for your family doctor when in fact if you paid only $10 to $20 per visit to your doctor he or she could afford to employ a nurse practitioner for less severe cases, another person to fill out the many forms your doctor spends hours on, etc. I don't know why Canadians won't bend on SMALL changes. It would improve our top notch health care system even more. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @daveboyle307 My dad comes for a visit from Florida. While visiting I had to bring him to the hospital, they fix him up and send him home . It cost him 2700 Canadian dollars and he was reimbursed by his American plan . They wanted a itemized breakdown, which they got. If he went in to American care for the same , it was 30,000 American dollars, 4 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @billmeek4777 The healthcare and the nuts with guns,, and there is a lot of nuts 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @personincognito3989 Reasons I would not move to the States:\n\n1.Education is better in Canada.\n2. Too many people on the sex registry and many around you but haven't been caught yet.\n3. Police are poorly trained\n4. Pay for service Healthcare \n5. Gun laws (and I have a PAL license!) \n6. racism \n7. Very socially unaware of the rest of the planet. (I just don't think I could live around such closed-minded, under educated peope)\n8. Angry communicators \n9. Blind arrogance \n10. Too many people\n11. Lack of healthy food.\nBtw Tyler my opinions are in no way a reflection on you. I enjoy you and your channel very very much 7 zJycj8c73sQ
