2 years, 8 months ago @shelleyjopp1190 No offense getting pregnant and going back to Canada has nothing to do with the health care and everything to do with all the school shootings. No sane parent would want their child in school in the USA if they had a choice. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Attirbful But Tyler… He does NOT talk of NYC but upstate New York. Two worlds!!! Yes, the Big Apple is not representative of America (I’d actually say, it is a lot more European than American - and I am saying that as a European who has lived in Manhattan for a year), but upstate New York is completely different from the city and much more like other U.S. states. I have lived in New Jersey near Philadelphia, in Louisville, KY and Manhattan for a year each at the end of the eighties, the mid-nineties and from 1999-2000 and I can definitely say that the immense difference of all the posh and rich vs. all the downtrodden and poverty-stricken has really shocked me. You hardly see these extremes here in Europe - ever! 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jeffnic3116 @10:55. Canadian system shows a better way?\nYou have not tired our system.\nA friend in Montreal Quebec almost lost his thumb in a workplace accident. He was in pain and the nurses would not give him any pain medication in the emergency waiting area, wait for the doctor. He called me at work and I took pain killers to him in the emergency room. He was in the emergency room for 14 hours before he saw a doctor, had to sleep upright overnight.\nIf any American favor's our universal medical system as it is so called free (comes from taxes we pay) come try it and see if you like it. Sit and wait for your service. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jeffnic3116 @9:00. There are Canadians that have the money, have private health care plans from the U,S.\nIf they have an issue and there is a backlog in their local availability, they go use their U.S. health coverage.\nThere was a lady in British Columbia who was confined to her home due to waiting for a hip operation.\nDue to the number of hours required for the operation, she was on a 2 year waiting list.\nIn Canada you can not pay for your own operation if it is covered by the state, no matter how much money you have, I guess you can go to the sates if you can afford it.\nIn Toronto I have not had a family doctor in 7 years, there are no openings. Is it like that in the USA? 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @karatecanine Fyi, upstate NY does not mean NYC. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @cupid_stunt7414 Hmm so if there wasn't so much police presence in the US your basically saying it would be like upstate NY then? 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @kevinb7551 Americans are divided on almost every issue, this is their biggest problem. \nThey seem to think everyone is a threat to them, making themselves their own worst enemy ?\n\nthey've killed more Americans than all other countries combined.\nthe guns that are for protection dont seem to help protect much. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Hollyucinogen Even with our stupid C-19 rules (at one point, we weren't allowed to leave our house after 8 PM except to walk the dog ?), I think I would still rather be Canadian than American. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Bobcagon I love American patriotism. Canadians are not as open with theirs. At national anthem singing it’s a bust. Apathy on both sides when political subject is on the table but Canadians are more so than Americans. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jeffnic3116 @8:00, booze is so cheap. Many provinces in Canada look at alcohol as some sort of crime.\nComparing exact same bottle of wine including tax, in Calgary, Alberta, wine is half the price compared to Vancouver, British Columbia. \nAlberta has less taxes, liquor stores are private and in B.C. they are state owned.\nWhen I lived in Vancouver and headed to the states, I always brought the limit I was allowed back into Canada.\nI recall being in Europe, where beer was cheaper than Coca Cola. Coke is a junk food, so the tax it to discourage it's consumption, result is healthier people and less burden on the health system, reducing the countries tax burden due to sugar overload. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @ZoraidaVA-b6v FYI, the Canadian Provincial health care is a shambles. Each province has their own health care system. A national system would make much more sense. In Toronto, there are many who can't find a family doctor, nurses in hospitals are overworked and mistreated, hence, they're leaving the profession. Those living in smaller communities must travel great distances for routine appointment, or emergency care. Our federal government does not recognize foreign trained medical professional qualifications, so they leave or work multiple minimum wage jobs. All I know about U.S. health care is that it's $$$$$$$$$. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @lordjinnai In Canada an inhaler is free for me, back then, an inhaler was 90 US dollars. It's better for me to live here in Canada. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @terryvuylsteke2434 I like your channel, don't get me wrong, and this coming from a Canadian, but dude... you meaunder way too much. Cheers, I'm out. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @skepticofdoom7486 I'd gladly visit SOME of the usa. Live there? Hell no. Not a chance. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @CherryBlawesome I take my pet to the vet in the US because the price in Canada is insane. Pets are not covered for health care and they really ding you for something as simple as dental work on a dog. It was going to cost us $1500 to have my pet’s teeth PULLED in Canada and it was only $500 in the US. A significant difference! So that is one positive thing about the US that is better than Canada. Also US turkeys are cheaper and juicier than in Canada. It has always been a tradition to get turkeys, cheese, milk, shoes, different flavoured chips, and gas when we cross over. Lol! After visiting the US regularly and vacationing, I do love Canada better because of Health Care. It is a big deal. You folks in the US should be fighting harder for it since it is the norm in Canada and the UK. Yes, we really pay for it in our taxes, but you don’t feel it as much if something bad happens. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @michaelayling8855 Canada has turned into a totalitarian state, they haven't been back for a while i guess. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @ryandejong1669 The stark difference between Canada and the US boils down to political philosophy. Canada is very Hobbes in that the role of the state is to maintain social order. So the state sees to the welfare of the subjects but all rights are privileges granted by the state and can be withdrawn when they feel it is necessary.\nThe US centres around the philosophy of Locke where the state can potentially become tyrannical and must be restrained. Rights are considered to come from the individual and the state may not infringe upon them because the state didn’t grant them in the first place. This also creates an individualistic society with the belief that every man and woman must stand on their own.\nNot arguing one way or the other. Just if you go from one to the other, expect a radically different mindset than you are probably accustomed to. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Lovie70 I find the misinformation when comparing our ( Canadian) heath care system to yours is is huge. Firstly there is NO copay-NONE for anything. Secondly there is NO limit on cost of surgery or treatments-NONE. Sometimes there are new drugs that are very expensive and not yet covered but that is it. I have lived in the US for the winter for he past 13 years and the concept of no copay with our system just seems to be beyond their grasp. For the life of me I cannot understand why the US citizens do not want universal health care like ALL of the rest of the developed nations of the world. When someone says they have health care in the US that all comes with possibly thousands in copay fees. 3 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Jay-vr9ir The terrorist of 911 , accomplished what they wanted and that is to turn people in the U.S. , against each other. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @MonicaMaria2175 I’m sorry, but I just have to correct; upstate New York excludes NY city. It’s Albany, Buffalo and the other northern towns of NY state. \nI’m not Canadian, I’m Norwegian, but I can relate to what the Canadians say about the cons of moving to the US. We got the same universal healthcare system, public safety net and we also don’t have the second amendment ? 4 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @leannehogan918 It wasn't 10 or 20 years ago, it was when Trump reared his ugly head. And you need to be really dumb to support him. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @steverichard2786 ? so if you have twins in US irs 6,000.00 ?. Thats unreal. Here in Canada no charge having babies plus moms get up to 18 months to be home before going back to work. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jeannierenton7542 I think the guy talking about trashy people, it’s more because of the education systems in the US & how each state regulates their money. It’s sad how some states have better education than others, this is where the rich win for sure, they can pay for better education even in elementary school? 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @BrianJohnson-bq9tr You talk too much!! 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @leslieshand4509 The USA is the only developed country that does net have maternity benefits. Families get 18 months in Canada 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @sylviasehmi4650 I am in a country with a universal free medical system plus a private system as well. However if you are really poor you can have access to whatever you need (you may have to wait a while) I have also experienced the private system, and it felt like a cattle market as you could almost feel that they were counting your money and their thoughts were on getting the next customer in. As for the system in the US aaaaaaahhhhhh complete crooks. As for your politics you could have a rapist/ fraudster/ liar president and no one seems to be able to do something about it. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @MrApocalyptica83 Sorry maybe more available for the 1% who can afford it , but sorry in the USA if you are poor you are dead , how can you explain to me except if healthcare is a business and not a right that you have young guy in their 40's dying from cancer as in europe an canada too cancer are cured more effecienty than in the USA where health is a privilege not a fundamental humain right 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @sagitariandragon1 Upstate NY is not NYC it is the north of the State like Buffalo or Syracuse where the situation is likely similar on the violence and poverty as the middle of the US or none coastal north like Missouri or Albama 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @lovekittens1976 Moving to USA was Not my choice, as soon as I could and knew it was the right thing for me back home i went\nwithout a worry.\nI am finally back home where I feel safe , secure and finally honestly happy again .after 22 years which maybe 4 of those years\num was okay. But I am back home for good, where I belong, 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @shari3329 Thanks Tyler, interesting topic & not surprised by the the responses. I’ve travelled to the states many times, vacation/work training/day trips & also my son lived in NC on a golf scholarship & you’re correct that it does depend on the area/place within the US but in the end I’m always relieved when I arrive back to Canada. I feel safe here! Our last trip was to California visiting San Francisco, Monterey & the coast, so beautiful & it was a great vacation. Just to mention the only way that we felt safer going there is because it’s a majority Democratic state. US can be nice to visit but there’s no place like home & Canada is the best for many reasons. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @brendacawston9236 Im Canadian and would prefer to be in America only if the political climate wasnt so crazy. Id miss our free health care but alot of our doctors are poor quality. The gun violence in the States sxares me too. Im sick of Canadian weather and the price of everything here, abd the low selection. I love our beautiful landscape...but the rain ruins it fir me. I prefer sunny skies, blue seas and palm trees. Ultimately theres stuff I like and dislike in both countries..but America seems better when it comes to getting ahead if you can get a good paying job...and...THE SUNSHINE ? It would be great to have dual citizenship..Im not sure if thats a thing anymore. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JuliesWorldCrochet I lived in Texas for 10 years and I met wonderful people. But I was absolutely thrilled to get back to Canada and it's a cultural thing. I found American culture focused on 'winning' rather than integrity, so that laws and businesses and banks are predatory, and everyone is on alert/stressed trying to not be victimized somewhere. Some great vacation spots, but it's no way to live. 155 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @robertwhite952 Tyler, you do not have high quality food. Stuffed with all sorts of crap detrimental to your health and life expectancy. You have not, obviously, eaten high quality fresh food so not your fault really. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @donsland1610 You seriously think that food is good and healthy in the USA? Amazing. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @keilder8543 Tyler, re health care: America spends twice per capita what Canada spends on health care. As best I know, it's because we have universal care under ONE administration provider, whereas in the USA there are THOUSANDS of plans, and administration eats up the majority of the health care dollars ? \nUS politicians have done a great job of convincing its citizens that universal health care is socialism, and that's BAD ? 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @joer8854 My brother lived in the US and I'm in Ontario and he's probably talking all of it. Taxes contrary to popular belief are about the same but the essentials are taken care of. Garbage disposal, roads are well maintained for the most part, health care and other things we generally don't think about. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @wfcoaker1398 I've never lived there, but I've visited there. It strikes me how little Americans fit the stereotype on their home soil. They're great people at home, friendly, helpful, warm. I think they only let the arseholes travel abroad and that's why they have such a poor image abroad. I think they should start letting the nice ones travel too. Lok 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jessgunn6639 YOU NEED TO CHECK THE FIGURES FOR THE STANDARD OF US MEDICAL CARE WITH THE REST OF THE WESTERN WORD! YOUR MORTALITY RATES ARE ABYSMAL! 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @kristalandrews1550 My brother went to Houston, Texas for 3 months, for his company. He was terrified of driving\nbecause of the crazy amount of 'road rage'. He even bought a knife that he could keep in his car.\nI love your videos, btw. ? 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jessgunn6639 IT`SNEVER BEING BROUGHT UP IN YOUR POLITICS?! SERIOUSLY MAN WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN WATCHING FOX? 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @jessgunn6639 not go bankrupt giving birth and have a better chance of actually surviving! 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @JackyJames1 It's just simple facts like our children doesn't need body armor in schools or having police instead of officers or health care if I break my toe it won't cost me 50k or being kind open the door for someone and finally education ! ( go USA go .....) most Americans can't locate Canada on a world map... ya rien de plus a dire c'est ridicule 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @llt8101 You can give birth for free in Canada. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Ekitchi0 The people and community are the only reasons my mom is staying in the US rather than going back to France. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @michinwaygook3684 First lets mention what I like about the United States. Americans are easy to make friends with. They have no problem making friends with complete strangers. Americans can be very inviting to compared to many places I have traveled to. The only place that compares in Canada is Newfoundland. In Canada you generally need an invite to a group to make friends.\n\nI liked how varied each state is. Changing states can sometimes feel crossing into a new world of sorts. This change can be both good and bad (i.e. Georgia very educated, Tennessee quite backwater). \n\nWhat I don't like is how Americans are overly patriotic, they can be borderline nationalistic and it is creepy (i.e. school children pledging allegiance before they even know what that means). In Canada if I don't want to stand during the playing of the national anthem no problem I don't have to. If you do that in the United States someone will address you and not in a favorable way. I also find their patriotism blinds many Americans to the truth about their country (i.e. many American truly have no idea how they compare to the rest of the world in many areas).\n\nLastly their infrastructure is terrible. Their infrastructure is first class if you are a driving a car, but in many places you aren't getting anywhere without that car. Is that such an added expense to have to own a car. This is the same problem in Canada, but from having lived in Europe and Asia I miss good transit systems. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @minkeytalk Your voice was way too high in the first half of the video but by half way through it became lower and much better to listen to. I don’t know if you were nervous or what but try warming up your voice before turning on the camera. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @Ekitchi0 Even the “good” American health insurance plans are riddled with ifs and buts. You don’t realise how bad American health insurance is compared to other countries. It’s not just about having one or not. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @garyconway1073 I guess your a woke up American, boy girl not sure. Your not old enough to have a opinion that really amounts to anything but your American so you get to have your opinion no mater how dumb it may be. the biggest difference is Americans so far have been able to keep your guns. Where on the other hand Canadians are losing theirs to a commie leader JT. Joe is not different , he wants your guns too but its not as easy for Joe as it seems to be for JT in Canada. 0 zJycj8c73sQ
2 years, 8 months ago @KevinMcNeill-n7h In my interaction with American police they have always been and acted professional. Had my truck stolen in Bellingham and they found it within hours and gave me a ride to retrieve it. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
