1 year, 8 months ago @lucdery6836 Just being near a handgun makes many of us unconfortable even if it’s a policeman wearing it. The mere sight of it gives us the creeps. Imagine if everybody around carried one! 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @BruceMcKay-gq8yq That's actually really weird, why would you have to pay for producing a new human? Child birth, a miracle. No charge. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @stephaniec3722 Visiting the States is amazing. If I could LOVE to live there. But the health care.... 2 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @stephaniec3722 That lady's comments are stupid. How do you earn money when you're sick! 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @stephaniec3722 I have had five open heart surgeries, a latarotomy, two c-sections, a diaphragm plication... I have all left heart heart defects. I was born with heart defects. I can't afford to live in the States! I think that's THE reason why we don't want to live there. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @jamies853 I love how humble and open-minded Tyler is. He's a great dude 15 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @Azsunes You say that not worrying about health care since it comes from your employer or you can buy your own. I hear horror stories of people taking an Ambulance to a hospital for it to be out of network. Even if they planned on going to a Hospital in network the doctor was out of network. There are even times insurance companies that refuse to pay out and try to find any reason possible requiring legal action. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @yvesroy99 When you are young and healthy is viable in USA, otherwise you are facing big trouble and terrible life 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @maryanne1367 5:02 but Tyler: maternity and parental leave equals one full year off of work with some pay. If I got pregnant in the states, I’d be running for Canada. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @Northerndoll I was visiting when I felt sick. I came home asap. Turned out I had a tumour on my brain stem. Thankfulness. 4 surgical teams, 10 hr surgery, 1wk in hosp, months of homecare, rehab and follow up mri and care. Yikes. My sis moved down in 1976, was good when she was in her 30’s while she worked. Her husband, American, went off on Canadian disability and once my sister retired their healthcare costs were crazy. They moved to a state that had better senior med care. I was visiting four yrs ago. My sis had several hosp visits due to heart issues. She ended up having open heart surgery. The hospital was lovely. Care was great. Pt care room was huge. I was used to tight icu cubicles. She had complications, day 4 the social worker came to tell her she was being discharged the next day. Her insurance had run out. There was no further coverage!!! She was in her 80’s had just had a stent blow thru her R coronary artery 5 days earlier then have bypass surgery and had just come off a ventilator the day before. I had to get back to Canada the next day. Thankfully, the social worker was able to continue working to find respite care at a nursing home for her for a couple more wks. \n\nI love certain parts of the states having spent a majority of my childhood visiting since my big sister moved there. Both countries are having issues now. Housing sucks in canada. If you aren’t doing well financially, canada isn’t all that great anymore either. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @barbarae-b507 We were visiting Florida and I was extremely sick. My parents drove to Canada as fast as possible, even stopped and put me in a hotel while they went looking for help. All they could find was Syrup of Epicac to make me throw up. I had very major surgery shortly after returning to Canada. Spent over a month in hospital on I. V. and found out my intestines were tied up in knots. So glad I live in Canada. The only thing I had to pay for was the TV and hair wash. The only reason I even got the tv was because the drugs I was on affected my vision and I couldn’t read. I have been in the hospital this year and still got really good care. 3 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @michaelanthony6403 I am a transplanted American who moved to Canada snd have never regretted it or looked back. Canada just tries harder to get it right. Doesn't always succeed but who does? The biggest difference is the bitterness and rage and division that dominates the culture in the US. I have lived snd worked all over the world on every continent except Antarctica and nowhere--NOWHERE- have I met people who hate their fellow citizens the way Americans do. And nowhere are there people who feel it's their God given right to tell others how to live. America is not a happy vibe 5 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @daydream_believer $200/ month for health ins is a lot. $2400/ yr. or $24,000/ 10 yrs. That is the amount just to be insured for ONE family member. It doesn't include copays when you do have to visit a doctor or need medication. Then what happens if your plan doesn't give you enough coverage or ANY coverage for a new illness or what is considered to be a pre-existing condition?! Cdns could very well pay this in taxes, but the taxes pay for a lot more of what is needed to have a functioning society. Americans pay these amounts plus taxes. YIKES!! 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @drempel4061 So to answer a few of your questions……….the drinks are always served in a mug unless it’s for takeout, they are not for keeps. Paper straws are common at all restaurants, not just A&W, and plastic utensils have also been replaced by wood. Finally, the burgers at A&W are actually pretty decent quality for fast food, one of my faves 5 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @LaneHelms I was born, educated, and brainwashed in the USA (without my consent). I moved to Canada for a career opportunity in 1972. Best life improvement I ever made. There isn’t any way I would even consider going back to the USA. Too dangerous, much less freedom, too many ignorant, rude people. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @lynne6638 Wasn’t Sandy Hook in a small town? There’s no safe school in the USA. 1 O0gJtVar7_E

1 year, 8 months ago @yallvoir Re concerns about school shootings. Based on January 2009 to May 2018 school shootings in the US vs Canada and factoring in the 2024 populations a student in the US is over 70 times more likely to experience a school shooting that a student in Canada, and if we use the low number of 10 deaths per shooting, a student in the US is over 700 times more likely to be killed in a school shooting that a student in Canada, and these numbers don't include those injured. The numbers used are not ideal, but even at half of that it is horrendous. \nAs far as choosing where to live to avoid a school shooting, I don't believe that any school has suffered more than 1 shooting, and I don't think that any of the schools that experienced a shooting were on anyone's top 1,000 list for where the next school shooting would occur. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @Jean-FrancoisPelletier-c2u Mass shooting number rate in the US is the bigest in the world! Number of persons in prison is also the highest in the world! 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @jaimieseejaimiedo Our health care system has major problems in canada but i had to pay 0$ to have my child...i pay 0$ to see a doctor...i paid 0$ when i went to the hospital for massive abdomen pain...i paid 0$ to get stitches and a cast and paid 0$ to have them taken out...i didnt have to go through a 3rd party insurance where they might only cover a portion or find ways to not pay...ill take my healthcare over american any day unless im extremely rich 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @TRAILLER consider this:\nin the US it's statistically considered a shootout if there is at least 4 victims.\nin Canada it's statistically considered a shootout if there was a gun fired at someone.\n\nand the US numbers are still higher than the canadian ones. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @TRAILLER The only reason canadian move to the US is because of work (mostly in showbiz), and most time it's with a double citizenship. \nIf you want to build a family you move to canada. If you want to build up your bank account you go to the US. 1 O0gJtVar7_E

1 year, 8 months ago @Juniper333 The quality of medical care is comparable between the 2 countries, however Americans still have a shorter life expectancy (compared to all other developed nations, not just Canada) because co-pays, deductibles, and insurance premiums keep people from getting earlier diagnosis’ that would save their lives. \n\nI find that Americans see Canadian healthcare through an American lens, thinking that we can only go to certain doctors, cannot get second opinions, or that the medical industry isn’t competitive but none of that is true. Our healthcare allows us to go to go anywhere and to get second opinions if needed. We pay zero out of pocket and never see a bill. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @thegreypath1777 Tyler - Healthcare is brought up every election. My apologies, but I think you need to pay more attention. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @thegreypath1777 Tyler - The American healthcare system is great for three sets of people: the rich, who can afford it; those who qualify for Medicare (based on age); and those who are so poor that they qualify for Medicaid. The people who are in the middle are those who have it the roughest, but they may now qualify for Obamacare. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @ensleyharris3608 No thank you. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 8 months ago @asomelord I love how you acknowledged the fact that the commenter moved back to Canada after getting pregnant, but not that they didn't return for 13 years... I would assume it's partially health care but a lot from wanting a safe place to raise their kid because the US is pretty infamous for gun violence 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 8 months ago @joedistaulo5061 Hi. Just chipping in here. Canadians may complain about the U.S., but we love you! 0 O0gJtVar7_E

1 year, 9 months ago @gaylechambers1945 I lived in L.A. from 77-78. I was called a “snow back” (opposite wet back) always laughed at my “eh”. Made some great friends, in general I was made aware that I was unwelcome and NOT American. Came home haven’t even wanted to visit since.???VOTE BLUE ?Protect the longest unprotected border on the planet ? One World ? 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @shellydistaola2834 I am American, when ever foreigners tell me they want to move to America I tell them to move to Canada. It is so much better there. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 9 months ago @Glyn-gq8ts Many Americans, the majority according to news reports, want gun control due to the mass shootings etc. one political party offers thought and prayers rather than doing something to protect children’s lives when they are in school…….they allow machine guns to the ordinary citizen but god forbid anyone importing a kinder egg!! 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @planesandbikes7353 56 years in Canada, live on the west coast the best part of Canada. I would move to the USA in a heartbeat. It is a better nation, more prosperous and affordable. I live in Arizona in winter, love it a LOT. It is generally friendlier when I am in the US than in west coast Canada which is more reserved with less sense of humour (but Ontario and east coast have legendary senses of humour). Health care is scary bad in Canada, a much better value in the US even though it costs more. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @YveBegin-i6p I FROM MONTREAL AND I LIVED IN CALIFORNIA FOR 2 YEARS , I MADE GREAT FRIEND, HAD A JOB NOT PAYING BUT I WORKING AND LIVIONG THE MOTEL I WAS WORKING FOR.THE USA IS A GREAT COUNTRY, BUT I'M CANADIAN SO I ADORE MY COUNTRY 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @roonboo96 I’m sorry, but never would I move to the US for all of the reasons already given in the video. I have a good friend in Massachusetts and I keep asking him when he’s going to come home to Canada. I really think Trump is going to be President again and I think it is time for my friend and his son to come on home. I don’t even feel very comfy visiting in the US anymore…And if (when) Trump wins, and Project 2025 goes through, I don’t think it will be particularly safe for most people to be there. Sorry about that… 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @Wowwieify Lol. Now you know some french? no I would not move to. The Usa 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @glen3679 The one thing I like in the United States is their right to bear arms. With the sad state that Canada's military is in it needs all the help it can get 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @susanmeredith4957 I guess you’re so used to the insanity in the US that you don’t see it as much as a Canadian coming down to visit. The US political climate is nuts, and scary. Such a deep divide. It’s sad. Years ago people could have civil conversations about political views.\nIn Canada you don’t have to worry about which place to move to based on political affiliation. \nX- Pat here. I moved from California to British Columbia years ago, and at this point have lived here longer than in the US. I will never move back to the US. I do enjoy visiting on holiday to Florida and California but always happy to come home to Canada. So grateful to live here. \nBy the way, my mom lived in a very safe community in Florida yet the highschool a few blocks away had a mass shooting ? 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @susanmeredith4957 Re your statement of employer health care, my sister in law in the US had employer (teacher) insurance and son had to have surgery, even with insurance they owed thousands in hospital/surgeon costs. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @michelmarcotte8600 I have family in the USA the people are fantastic, nice places, better earnings in some jobs worse in others. The best reason to move there is opportunities if you are a band or entertainer, actor. Teachers in Canada make $60,000 to $100,000.Because our Prime Minister is leaning towards dictatorship my stance on gun laws are changing to the American view. Hopefully the next election will reverse the censorships and overreach of this particular government. 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @johnross5889 I will always visit for the weather in winter..but.. permanently ..lol..youre kidding..right? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @bdcarroll415 At 16 years old, my brother left Canada. He joined the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. He loved the USA ?? So much he never came back. Colorado was his home..? 0 O0gJtVar7_E
1 year, 9 months ago @katknox8250 I wouldn’t say higher quality…their pay is lower - our Doctors/surgeons etc leave and go to to the states for better pay. 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 9 months ago @karenrooney1391 Two of my sons needed surgeries one had two open heart surgery and the other had lung surgery both as babies. Easy a million buck. Total bill $0 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 9 months ago @annegeradamaclellan8226 I wouldn't want to live any else so proud of being Canadian and never live anymore else ever ?⚘️✝️????? 1 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 9 months ago @SIChins My friend in New York had to pay $10,000 for childbirth after insurance kicked in. She is also a Canadian living in the U.S. She had one child, then headed back to Canada a few years later. 2 zJycj8c73sQ
1 year, 9 months ago @georgedyson9754 We have some gun enthusiasts who moan about Canada gun laws that I wish would move to the US as it sounds as though that is more their thing than Canada. 1 O0gJtVar7_E
