The United States has elected a president who is turning its longest-standing allies into adversaries. This isn't just about Canada. The entire Western world is watching. While the U.S. has the power to harm its allies, those allies also have the ability to push back, and the USA is rapidly losing friends who may not return. As America’s alliances weaken, so do the obstacles its rivals face. \n\nTake Australia, for example. Should it continue aligning with the U.S. in the Asia-Pacific region? Should it continue hosting critical American surveillance infrastructure? Should it keep supporting and supplying the U.S. fleet? The USA enjoys a trade surplus with us, but do we need to spend USD$50 billion over the next decade buying your hardware? The Europeans seem to be a more trustworthy ally, who don't make us a target.\n\nThe USA would argue that their presence ensures security, but the reality is that countries like Australia only face threats because they are tied to U.S. strategic interests. Perhaps a more pragmatic approach that avoids unnecessary antagonism with China would serve us better. \n\nAs for Canada, it will adapt and find new trading partners, just as Australia did when China attempted economic coercion. And through it all, Canada, know that Australia will stand with you—always.

Dear Justin, 75 million Americans voted against Donald Trump in the recent election. We appreciate your speaking directly to us today and in recent speeches you have given. We know what a good ally you have been to the US and we also know your primary concern is to Canadian citizens. While many of us have done what we could do and we also know the current trade arrangement was negotiated with you by Donald Trump in his previous term which leaves many of us scratching our heads. For my part it deeply saddens me that this has happened and all we ask or all that I ask is that you remember those of us who did not vote for this. Slightly less than half of the country. When this is over, and it will end one day we look forward to breaking bread with Canada again.

I have no idea what possessed Mr. Trump to decide to stab our allies in the back, but it was not something good. 27.5% of voting age adults voted for him. How many of them were serenaded by hollow promises and a good slogan. Perhaps all of the mud slinging and Russian media interference helped? If you add in our more studious teenagers, truly reformed felons, and immigrants who actually deserve a gold card, that number plummets to less than 25%. I won't ask people to wake up, if you are reading this you are already more than capable of finding out that I speak only the hard truth. This means less than a quarter of america wanted this. This means your vote and opinions DO count. I know it is incredibly difficult to reach for and find answers in a world where your president or primary candidate throws 'fake news' in your face on a regular basis. He is actually telling the truth. When he is not telling you is that he is a primary enabler of 'fake news'. To him, only his word is law, only his opinion matters, only he deserves to be on top, and he deserves authority over all of your lives. Do the right thing, we all have a civil duty to understand our candidates to the very best of our ability. When a man has been convicted of dozens of felonies, and we tell you that this is only what we were willing to expose. You may want start believing us. The genuine facts of his past are unilaterally corrupting to our children and good people alike. Do not let the american people repeat their mistakes, force Mr. Trump to atone for his mistakes. No not empower him to sweep them under the rug for the sake of his own arrogance, because that is exactly what he is doing by trying to dismantle the CIA and FBI. These two institutions are shining examples of America's pursuit of freedom and justice. Freedom to keep billionaires from corrupting the morals of our children. Freedom to know that the rule of law is immutable, our constitution is not just a paper with fancy traditional sentiment. Even if the law may sometimes be bent for the sake of decency, forgiveness, and the pursuit of 'united we stand', our constitution cannot. Amendments require the FULL support of nearly all Americans, not 27.5% of unrestricted adults.

Says the man who allows fentanyl to flow into Canada and poison its citizens. Ask yourself Trudeau why there is a trade war with your closest ally and why you support Neo Nazi stronghold's in Ukraine?

Trump's goal is to start an actual war with anyone who'll have it, including our closest neighbors and allies. The reason is that wartime presidents have more power and he doesn't care who stands in his way. He's going to use that power to detain journalists and jail political opponents ahead of the midterms claiming them to be traitors, then he's going to set himself up to run for a third term. If he succeeds, he'll have total control. Democratic leaders will be in jail, journalists will be silenced, and the national guard will forcefully search your home for any second amendments you might have lying around as they deliver our ballots at gunpoint. How do I know? Because that's what tyrants do. The US is in the midst of a political coupe and it's imperative that the situation be viewed from that paradigm. Drop any pretense that this administration is anyone's ally, they're not. They're a rogue administration attempting to seize total control of the US.

Canadian here. ??\nTrump forgot 9/11. When American airspace were all closed. We, Canada hosted thousands of crew and passengers with open arms. ❤ We are America’s friend, neighbour and closest ally. How dumb can Trump be? Treating your most loyal ally and neighbour who has supported you through thick and thin like disposable garbage. This is gonnna cost Trump potentially his presidency with the tarrif he imposing on their trading partners.

Not once did he talk about why this is happening? He says he's our friend but saying it is one thing. Actions speak louder Trudeau. Mr. Trump asked you to meet him to get balanced fair trade. You say you are our friend. But, yet you don't want fair and balanced trade. Hmmm, common sense goes a long. Tariff is a smart way to let you know that your certainly not acting like the friend and ally you say you are. This could all go away, but the truth is your demonrat supporter who lies, misleads the truth, and blames others. We the people don't tolerate that any longer and don't appreciate it. Shame on you!

Mr. Trudeau mentions there's no drug problem, how can you say this. Fentanyl has been coming through your boarders. This Must stop. Your Ally who offers security for Canada should be respected . Our citizen's are dyeing. I stand with Our President and his Administration. Canada we love you , but enough is enough .

You all around the world, making the mistake of siding with foolish leaders who's own public do not support them against Donald Trump--when the majority of Americans do--will feal the wrath of every single American, who is sick of being bullied by you. We do not have to pay your bills. We do not have to keep your country safe. Keep running your mouth, CNN and dividing this country and the world with your lies. Everyone knows Zelenskyy was disrespectful to Biden and Trump and Vance--who we owe nothing to. Ukraine is not an ally of ours. Ukraine will never be allowed to NATO. And all of you can enjoy the tariffs. We don't need you we don't model our behavior after you. You'll never be America. You will never understand what it means to be American. You will never come into our Oval Office and disrespect our president, Democrat, or Republican and get away with it. Shame on you for your lies! You know better but you get paid well. This is why your ratings are in the tank and only those lacking any logical critical thinking still watch you.

He’s the common sense president….helping Russia and blasting allies. Makes total perfect sense, right?! We clearly have our common sense way…thank you Mr Trump for showing us who your real ally is. We needed this lesson for the help we gave on 911 etc. shame on us! I hope we’ve learnt a valuable lesson.

As an American who was born here and live here for over 50 years, I am so ashamed of this government, the republican politicians and some of the democratic politicians. The MAGA cult is overwhelming our everyday lives in combination with Trump, Vance and Musk vast amounts of lies, deceit, disrespect for the low-middle class American families, cozying up to the fascist dictator Putin, turning your back on our best ally Canada by instigating these ridiculous tariffs, and a whole host of other atrocities that have occurred in the past few weeks. Let this sink in... in the past few weeks! What is it going to be like in a few months or by the end of this term? With the way it's going, we're going to be damned lucky that we're going to be here at all, otherwise Trump and Putin can rule over a nuclear decimated scorched earth. Americans that are already sick, tired and completely fed up with all of the grandiose shit-storm actions coming out of the White House, please do what you absolutely can to shout from the rooftops, we will not concede, we will not bow down and kiss the ring, we will not be bullied and we will not stand idly by and watch a narcissistic, misogynistic, blow-hard dictator-loving(Putin), felonious bully and all his butt-munching fuck-tard cronies burn this country to the ground.
