I love our principles.\n\nAnd it’s for all those reasons that I support Canada, Mexico, the European nations, and all the other sane countries around the world that are hitting back against these maniacs driving my homeland into the gutters of history.\n\nEven as a leftist, I’ve had my fair share of criticisms for Mr. Trudeau, Mr. Starmer, and Mr. Macron as well as the other leaders of the EU. But now, bygones are bygones. In Americans’ moment of need, it’s clear that three folks care more about the United States and our values than the Republicans ever will.\n\nThank you for standing on the right side of what will certainly be one of the most important moments in modern American history.

Stay honest and true in every way you can. Character really is destiny. I love my country but we are under siege by our own government, a group of sycophantic grifters who do not possess the wisdom, experience nor the disciplined intelligence to fulfill the duties their positions require. I stand with Canada and admire Mr. Trudeau for being willing to call out Donald Trump and address us Americans directly. Yes, we will all pay for this stupidity—except of course the MAGA elite.

I’m in tears. Mr. Trudeau, thank you for supporting the US citizens as we try to figure out what we can do to get our friends back. I’d give anything to be a Maple Leaf if I can’t have my country back. I love Canada because they’ve always welcomed me. The people are freaking amazing and kind. I love our allies because we look out for each other. Canada, Mexico, Europe, Ukraine, etc., the American people love you and don’t want this insanity - not just liberal-minded people like me, but most all of us. Love to you all!

The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.
