I’ve held my tongue on this long enough, but the writing’s on the wall — Canada is cooked.\n\nOur finance minister calls it a “vibecession”, as if we’re imagining the economy sputtering. But here’s the reality: GDP growth at 0.1%, per capita GDP down 0.5%, and youth unemployment at 13.5%.\n\nThere’s the recent bait-and-switch $250 stimulus cheque — an ill-disguised vote buying grift. It was scrapped when the government realized it would add $4.6 billion to an already projected $60 billion deficit. \n\nThrow in a two-month sales tax holiday announced without thinking about the logistics, leaving businesses scrambling. Some aren’t even participating because it’s not worth the headache.\n\nHousing starts are at a 10-year low, the housing accelerator fund has delivered zero new homes, housing prices have left wage growth in the dust, and immigration has blown past what our infrastructure can handle. \n\nMeanwhile, the CBSA isn’t bothering to track expired international student visas. After all, someone has to keep the for-profit diploma mills thriving and the service industry fully staffed.\n\nCanada Post is falling apart under strikes, crippling small businesses, and 47% of job growth in the last five years has come from the public sector while our capital markets and innovation stagnate. \n\nThe $CAD is currently plummeting against the $USD, as the Bank of Canada scrambles to firefight the government’s incompetence with two jumbo 0.5% interest rate cuts.\n\nAnd let’s not ignore the trade war brewing with our historical ally, the U.S.. Trump has made it clear he’ll punish our abysmal border policies, which have allowed fentanyl to flood into America unchecked, with a 25% tariff on Canadian exports.\n\nIf you’re trying to get ahead — building jobs, working for yourself, pooling capital to invest, why bother?— the proposed 66% capital gains inclusion rate over $250,000 punishes you for taking risks and succeeding.\n\nAsk yourself: are you happy with the state of Canada right now? Honestly. Because it doesn’t feel like the same country I grew up in, went to school in, worked in, served in, and built a business in.\n\nI’m done. For once in my life, I don’t want to be Canadian anymore.

The US unemployment rate is currently just under 4.5%, or about 7 million people theoretically available to fill job openings. \nIt’s highly likely that most of these folks are unemployable.\nSo, who’s going to work on the hundreds of thousands of factories that will need to be built in the US when trump “brings all those jobs back to America”?\nThen, on top of that, who’s going to replace the 10+ millions of undocumented workers that will be deported?\nGood luck with that, and enjoy the new, improved, and higher prices on everything you buy. \nLike they say, you get what you vote for.

Canada's total taxation rate is about 64th compared to countries worldwide.\nCanada is ranked one of the safest countries in the world. Still is. In fact, any quick search will show our crime rates continue to drop every decade. We have FAR more people moving to Canada than from Canada. The population in 2023 jumped up over 1 million.\nCanada is having housing challenges due to the massive influx of people moving here. It is a problematic level of immigration. That said, we still have a very low unemployment rate, and plenty of opportunities in most cities for the right people.\nI am not sure what your agenda here is with all this misinformation, but please feel free to leave anytime...

Too many people are so uneducated about what Trump is really going to do!! They do NOT understand how tariffs work!! Unlike Kamala’s plan to stop the price gouging in the grocery stores…the GOP will drive prices through the roof!!! Anyone who voted for Trump has a lot of moments ahead of finding out what he was claiming he would do that 1) either he can’t because he doesn’t have the authority to just play God or 2) he had not intended the results that people thought in the first place!! \nBut it is truly going to be a scary time as we watch unemployment start to skyrocket, especially as he gets rid of career government employees!! The unemployment numbers under Biden soon will be a distant memory!! After all, Biden has continued to drop unemployment numbers on a monthly basis, breaking all prior records of low unemployment on a monthly basis for the past 4 years!! The inflation rate which did not include costs of food, were also dropping consistently including this past month!! I believe it under 3% by close to 1/2 a percentage point!\nBut what will truly be frightening will truly be if he accomplishes his plan to get rid of SSI, Medicare & Medicaid as well as the Affordable Care Act!! I’m sure millions are also hoping the $35 cap on Insulin doesn’t just stop before they have to pickup their next prescription! \nBottom line: when in our History have we ever faced a more frightening future at the whim of the Dictator in the White House??

What's not being addressed is how temporary foreign workers were once relegated to to agricultural and fisheries work but are working for many exploitive employers who care about nothing more than having the lowest payroll, mainly fast-food and retail. These are entry-level jobs that many Canadians needed to survive but are being undercut by foreign cheap labor. These jobs used to pay the bills. \n\nGlobal News only showing agricultural workers and not Subway and Tim Hortons franchises shows what side of the issue Global News is on. It makes you wonder who has voting control of Corus Entertainment, probably the same investors who own many Subway and Tim Hortons locations. \n\nChrystia Freeland saying they will tie the Temporary Foreign Workers eligibility to the unemployment rate of an area still does not address how those jobs do not cover basic living expenses of Canadian citizens. Minimum wage will never go up like this but every possible expense will skyrocket to gouge the public so every corporation will cover their finances except private citizens, unless its one of the citizens destroying the country to cover their willy-nilly investments. \n\nThe young and the poor (now the majority of Canadians) aren't asking for thriving wages, cause that ship has sailed, just to be respected enough to be paid a living wage. I can't believe Trudeau thinks he will get re-elected after selling out the country to investors.

I wonder how much that guy makes on immigrants coming in? Because none of what he said makes any sense! We cant just start building a ton of infrastructure when we dont have the freakin money! Immigration is hurting our economy as the unemployment rate rises. There's hardly any full time positions. Not impressed about this piece is trying to spin this into a positive!! SHAME

While I agree that Canada should definitely lower the number of indians that are admitted in the country (asylum seeker included), this video is just blatantly low quality journalism. You take the opinion of a few people. Talk about facts. What is unemployment rate compared to other cities, crime rate, etc. And does it correlate with the ethnic group.

its the globalist forces, who are forcing Indians out of India, the thing these dark forces did in Europe to Europeans to force them into Americas is exactly what they are doing to Indians now, you think Indians really want to be in Canada at -30 degrees.\n\ncheck out youtube videos of heartbreak & tears in Punjab when they leave for Canada, its not out of CHOICE. The same force which is giving fentanyl to white people to die off are the same forces which wants Indians in Canada, they created 60% unemployment rate in India, the situation is impossible in India, the leaders are all puppet like trudeau in India. The dark forces are behind all this not Indians or canadians or humans. Indians are forced to study for 20 years for a worthless degree and can you imagine with no job and future in India? Indians are going to UAE, Middle East more than Canada as well. Indians have no choice but to immigrate, do you really think Indians love to work in grocery stores in Canada, thats what they all dreamed about when growing up?
