I mean, when you served the US Army as a general, i'm pretty sure this man loves his country and hearing him saying he's totally with Canada in this issue. It's sums it all.

American here. I am on a limited income (Social Security) but I 100% support Canada & what Canada needs to do to counteract the actions of our incompetent, insane 'President'. Go Canada! We not-insane Americans salute you & apologize for our 'Orange Menace'. We look forward to when our governments can be friends again. Our two peoples will always be Friends! (I have family there also.) P.S. The drug issue is a fake issue on the part of the Trump Administration. As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company. But now am re-evaluating my decision because if this how the US treats their friends and allies, I really feel sad for their enemies. Both countries benefited from having a good relationship and now the great US has no one willing to challenge Mr Trump on this idiotic move, America is alienating themselves from a lot of countries and regular Americans are the ones who are going to suffer from this fall-out, the rich won't be affected but regular working class folks your stress is going to get a whole lot worse and that's unfortunate. Hopefully US wises up sooner rather than later and stop blaming immigration for their problems it's poor governing and politicians that have us looking at each other as enemies rather than humans with the same struggle and issues. They have money to send annually overseas but none to improve the life of their citizens in need, that should tell you something. People that don't look like you aren't your enemies, people who try to harm you, undermine you are your enemies. People are just searching for a better life that's all, the most basic thing humans have in common, change the red tape a make things more structured and rid your country of the bad apples and welcome those willing to work, build and serve God and the country. May God help us all the beginning of Sorrows has begun ?.

I have not always been a fan of Trudeau, but I have to give it to him today. You spoke with care, adressing the issues and standing up for Canada amidst this hard time. You deserve a standing ovation. Thank you Justin. I am a proud Newfoundlander, but also Proud Canadian. Hoping that hopefully Trump will choose to work with us not against us. All of us on this continent need to work as one, helping all our neighbors.

Somewhat right but not exactly right. According to Trump admin, Trump is actually trying to stop the circumvention of Chinese goods and Chinese drugs coming from Canada. Trudeau promised Trump to work on the drug issue, but I guess he did not if we are seeing the significant import tax on Canada now. And come on Trudeau, you dislike Trump and aren't exactly his friend. You talked back on him on many international stages. Anyways, I wish you two get along eventually and hope the same for US and Canada.

I don't even think the people who voted for Donald Trump wanted these tariffs against the rest of the world either....I really don't understand the sense behind it because this is not going to make America greater.... But I'll tell you what, he may be shocked and sadly mistaken when he finds out that it might just backfire ...this is a very conceited attempt to get the type of economic condition that he envisions for his new Dictatorship over America....he has alienated United States from its allies in Europe as well as its allies here at home.... This is probably about as dumb as his treatment of Volodimir Zelensky that just transpired on Friday at the oval office...and that idiot Vance is the one actually that has started that little debacle....I don't know man I thought these guys had more sense than to do this kind of shit.... But see this kind of situation is not going to affect him or his billionaire buddies because they have so much money they can cushion themselves until the cows come home....these assholes don't have nothing to worry about except the American people finding an emergency way of getting his ass out of office unless he changes course on all of this... I don't know if he can be impeached or not... But it might be a smart thing to find out if it IS possible.... This is just a sampling of what happens when you elect an official do the highest office in the land while this individual Donald Trump is Holden s official position as dog catcher is out of his ability. The issue on fentanyl, is a intoxicant that will not and cannot be defeated. This is a total failure on the government's inability to protect its own citizens that is their number one job.. The only solution that I have heard that remotely makes any sense is the Cato institute conclusion that the wisest route to go is completely legalization with age restrictions. While this may not be the desired outcome it's the only one that I see that makes any sense whatsoever it seems that when a solution like this offered so many individuals who have no gravitas in this matter will come back to the same nonsensical bulshit that they're going to stop the flow that is absolutely impossible. However we will continue on that course and we will continue to fail. The Cato Institute was initially funded by the Koch brothers a extremely conservative organization that gets together a group of the brightest and the best in trying to determine what is the best solution.the Koch brothers were the group that invented the tea party I would love for anybody who disagrees with this post. I would like anybody who thinks that this is a far-fetched idea ,all I ask is that if you disagree with the finding that it should be legal with age restrictions if you disagree I would like to hear a solution that you have in mind that you think is better than the Cato Institute finding. I am under the impression that you do not have anything that remotely resembles a solution to this terrible problem. Right off the bat, with uality control, you'll stop hundreds of thousands of deaths. All of the issues that are being dealt with are just so screwed up because we've already been through this before. After making a constitutional amendment to ban the manufacturing of alcohol it was reversed and I hope that the country realize that we cannot win this battle with the same mindset. The only reason why fentanyl is such a dangerous intoxicant is because there's no quality control. Also the cartels are not affected negatively \nBy allowing the government deal with this problem. the end result would be not only do you save lives but you also have put a very negative Spike through their heart of the cartel in the pocketbook. Incense elan musk & DOGE cost cutting measures since this War on drugs has caused over a trillion dollars and no 6:28 results. The DEA does not remotely live up to its mission statement and has failed every year since that policy was put in place. I would love to hear any feedback and a solution that is remotely possible.. let's hear some original ideas that the country would benefit from.. the ball is in your court.

Gee, and people are so dumbfounded why Trump is so adamant about pushing Trudeau so hard with tarriffs and insisting he help out with the borded on the Canadian border. We have no issues with Canaadians. America has issues with Trudeau. I sincerely hope that Canadians are able to dump Trudeau for a much better option in March. I think based on my limited knowledge of Canadian politics, that Poliviere is their best choice. I think he would work very well with Trump and both countries would benefit heavily.

trump lies to his nation and others nations too. fentanyl is not even a real issue. theres like 1 percent of usa fentanyl coming from canada. i hope americans will get rid of him. this is an unjustified tariff against an ally country and its unacceptable. usa are responsible to take care of their own borders in the first place.

I can't help but feel there is a entirely biased narrative going on here the problem with the pandemic is that it left people who had some mental issues. I bet too much time on the internet and unfortunately fell down the rabbit hole of a lot of Russian push propaganda and that's what I'm feeling here. You're talking about taxes and not benefiting yet. I'm sure you've gone to the hospital several times and are not $300,000 in debt from a month stay the part of having benefits like that. + A decent social net is paying taxes you can look at the Philippines as a place that's as corrupt and remove social services and can see what happens there when there is a disaster. The only aid that comes in is through international charities or expats donating you'll be moving to Bulgaria and you'll notice that European taxes are pretty much on par with Canadians You're far too young to be buying into Trump russian-backed propagandab and I'm hoping with whatever's happened you personally and proves so your judgment can as well too. Are we talking about a mass deportation of people who came into this country illegally? The funding and the resources are the problems. Trump is not going to be able to deport as many as he proposes. If some of them have been here and started an American-born family, then they should get special consideration, but if it's decided they get deported it's really not the fault of the government, it solely rests on the shoulders of those who come in our country and break our laws. If the idea is to become an American Citizen breaking the law is not the first thing to do to swear allegiance. It's confusing. My hope is that we get this issue behind us with fairness and compassion, without sending the message that you can just come here without due process.

What about the immigrants that have been working and contributing and trying to get citizenship for decades and the spouses of American citizens still fighting for their right after paying taxes for many years - are we raiding all families homes and splitting up kids from parents?
