Please take pride in this. The American left will surely boo him harshly once again, but this is what a true statesman should be. With dignity and composure, he made a difficult decision—not because he wanted to, but because he had to—fully aware that it would bring pain to both nations’ citizens.\n\nCan our own Japanese leaders take such a firm and resolute stance?
