News reports in Europe indicate that Switzerland may be holding a referendum in July 2026 to cap the population of that country at 10 million. If the population at any point reaches 9.5 million, then Switzerland would be obligated to withdraw from certain treaties involving free movement of European citizens. Perhaps It's something to consider here in Canada, capping the population at no more than 40 million. Oops. We're already past that.

As a Sikh, born and raised in the US, this is an opinion I've had since this KHALISTAN stuff began. We go to Canada if we miss India, because it's basically become MINI PUNJAB LOL. Another note. If this LAND LOCKED COUNTRY were to be established, everything would be ridiculously expensive, and Khalistan would be lucky to become as "successful" as EXPENSIVE Switzerland. It's illogical to support Khalistan on an economic standpoint.

Moved from Canada last August (2024). This country used to be on par with Switzerland in terms of quality of life, work-life balance, how nice everyone was, you name it. After 2020 I couldn't recognize this country anymore. Moved back to Israel, a country that was overrun with corruption, war and looming financial crisis. Now I'm planning my move to Cyprus. I heard the people are extremely nice, there's practically 0 crime and the Island is amazing overall.

Germany is looking for cheap labor. There are many skilled people already in Germany either considering moving to another countries like Canada, USA or Switzerland where they can get a better salary. For example, one of my old colleague was working as an software engineer manager and lost his job because of layoffs done by a US company. When he was searching a new job for 11 months, the salary range offered by Germany companies was ridiculous. He moved to UK almost doubling the salary, he also received another offer with 1.5x salary from Amsterdam.

As a FRENCH individual, here is my perspective; we humans look for what is good for us!!! I am French (I consider myself very lucky as France is a very stable and prosperous economy) but many French also look for better opportunities abroad, namely in Switzerland (higher salary and better work packages but that influx created a xenophobia against French living in Swiss) and the US (tech jobs mainly, which are better paid than in France)!!! We ALL do it!!! Many white South African women also do everything to marry British, Germans, Canadians on purpose (the media never mentions that and we know why) so that they can escape the extreme environment in South Africa!!!! It is just that the media tends to focus on black and brown people as it sells better!!! Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! Ohhh and have we forgotten already those Italians who moved to France in 1900s to escape misery and hunger in Italy!!!! Ohhh …. we already forgot!!!! And what about the Ukrainians, many of whom come to Canada now and take jobs and reap benefits from the local? I moved to Canada in 2000 and was not so bad but thanks God i left this country in 2010 and i am so happy now in Switzerland. I hear from friends living there that Canada bacame a shitshow..still have good memories, a bit sad what happened to this country..

I can recommend you to reside in one of EU countries. It is far more convenient and proper to maintain the living circumstances and standards. A part of the domestic inhabitants and people have also abandoned Canada due to the cost of living, paying substantial amount of taxes and healthcare segment. Those are the largest complexities of the country. It stems from these reasons in order to leave Canada. Those indigenious inhabitants of Canada commonly choose to relocate in UK, Germany and France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Spain. A vast change eventuates in the whole world with the new immigration waves. The living conditions are modifying, the orders are also reshaping and the paradigms are altering. It comprises a large transformation within this process.

And what about staying in Canada and fight for the country? Because here in Europe it is also going down the drain, even here in Switzerland

Alina, I highly doubt that you will find better living conditions anywhere else than in Canada........unless you can afford Switzerland or maybe Norway or New Zealand.

What's interesting: I am a German thinking about moving to Canada, because I believe Germany is a mess. We gave home to more than 1,000,000 refugees since 2015 and still more to come. I am kind of distracted of this video and all the comments. Where would a Canadian go, if he or she wants to leave? Switzerland? Australia? NZ?

Just a few days ago, I watched a series comparing houses and apartments across Canada, with literal castles in Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, etc. It's insane. Some of the houses compared were CONDEMNED, and were still worth a decent castle.

Canada should adopt policies like those of small countries like Norway and Switzerland. Don't be deceived by Canada's map as only the area upto 100 km north of US border should be considered habitable. Canadian economy does not create as many jobs as required for all the immigration that is happening.

Canada is actually a small country like Switzerland. It only looks big on the map. Only 100 kms area north of US border is livable.

I tried to emigrate for years to Canada. I speak 9 languages, C1 (IELTS) and graduated as a French teacher in Albania and later Switzerland. Have a work experience in my field and are with my husband and child law abiding citizens. We tried for years and between IELTS tests and Credentials assessment it took a good chunk of our finances, yet we weren't deemed to be enough to emigrate to Canada. Even raised my child bilingual in English Albanian so she could adjust better and integrate. What kind of policies are these that repel people that are willing to integrate, that try to come there legally and respecting your laws and immigration programs and open the door to law breakers? I just wanted a simple life and a teaching job while holding the utmost respect for the people and the country. All this thing makes me sad, but also makes me feel stupid for wanting to do things legally or that i believed Canada was a country where law was respected.

Whenever people ask me what it's like living in Canada, I say we pay Switzerland prices but get India quality of living.

We recently moved from Switzerland to BC Canada and to be honest, we somehow regret it because it feels like it's a big downgrade. Maybe we are still transitioning but seeing homeless people, drug addicts and litter everywhere almost every time we go out are way too shocking. We've never seen these in Switzerland and not even this much in every country we've lived and traveled at. We are questioning if it's safe to even stay here for a year. And the taxes, it's ridiculous really! The average income tax in Switzerland is only 11-12 percent, less than half of Canada.

I'd leave Canada tomorrow to live in Switzerland but I'm afraid they won't allow me to stay there forever... Unfortunately. Otherwise I'd be buying tickets tomorrow, Canada is becoming a zoo.

20 years ago, international students were the cream of the crop. They usually came from upper class families and were wealthy. Some of these were my friends, who went to boarding schools abroad and decided to come to UT for their bachelor's. Many went on to graduate school in the United States or Switzerland and never came back to Canada again. They were not here to be Canadian citizens. They were already very wealthy and there was no incentive to be here. I learned a lot from their experiences. The international student route was never meant to be a pathway to citizenship.

Canada may be easier than other countries to immigrate to but you have a lot more hardships. If you are skilled USA , uae , Switzerland are better choices. Trudeau only cares that you vote for his party, he doesn’t actually care about you
