Respect for Trump, he is doing the right thing.

Trump is doing all these crazy things but he is forgetting one HUGE thing. Canada & many other countries are Allies of America & while he's talking about tariffs & goodness knows what (I did watch his talk in Congress), at least respect your Allies. Trump is sleeping with the enemy & in all my years, I've never seen an American President turn on their Allies like this. He is a dangerous man for all the wrong reasons. I feel badly for the American people whom will be stuck between a rock & a hard place. I feel for the Canadian's whom don't deserve this. Trudeau speaks so genuinely & politely where Trump yells 'this is the way things will be'. \nI don't look forward to the next 4 years & many in my country (Australia) have said they won't even go to America while Trump is in Office. We have always loved Canada. We 'gather at Whistler' then go travel. Great country. Much love from your Aussie mates ❤❤

I am never a fan of our Prime Minister but today, he got my full respect and admiration. We all know it is not about Fentanyl or illegal immigrants crossing from Canada as little as they were. Donald Trump is just using these as excuse. He is cozying up with US' one of two prime adversaries - Russia and China - and whacking friends and allies, alienating the United States. Donald Trump probably is considering authoritarian rule over democracy. I can't wait for the day that his dumb action will whack him back. Sorry Americans, you are still our friends, but not your government.

People have the right idea of talking to trump directly and make it clear that he just took sides with Russia over his allies in democracy and freedom,something that no other president would do allow a dictator to invade a country and blackmail the country that is being invaded just for it mineral and don’t have a statement of giving help. As a Canadian for 45 years, we all know others write his speeches and this like many of his speeches sounds overly scripted. In this respect, I actually prefer Trump who has less filters when he speaks. Trump is clearly trying to save America from further drowing in debt by increasing government revenue while minimizing expenses which is commendable although I don't approve of all his tactics.

I am American independent voter who vote against Treasonous Trump this past election of 2024 in favor of Kamala Harris. While many of my fellow Americans voted for Trump many others like me did not. Now so many good and event Americans are going to suffer because of many Maga or Maga supporting Americans who foolishly chose to support Trump and his lies. The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. Things are already very very bad here in the states. I don't think many Americans realize how bad the economy is. Tariffs will force US companies to reduce the outsourcing of jobs, and force other countries who are over-reliant on trade from the States, to cultivate their own self-sufficiency. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. It us telling everyone else that we can no longer be relied upon because we are weak. \n\nI didnt' even vote Trump the first two times he ran. But things have now gotten so bad that I was forced into voting for him this time. Why? Because he's a bull in a china shop. I expect him to tear every damn thing apart he can within our government. I want everything destroyed so it can be rebuilt by people who aren't complacent.

As an American, I am totally appalled that Donald Trump is our elected president putting himself & his selfish agenda ahead of the American people. Trump is not the US and his behavior is not in the best interest of the US. He is the president because he is a skilled con man. However, narcissistic bullying tactics do not work forever as long as there are people with a modicum of intelligence and self respect. He’s trying to be a bully to get his way because it worked for him in the past. He’s is using his position to bolster himself financially and his ego. Everyone should stand up for themselves to include those in the US.

Great speech Prime Minister. Thank you. And Donald does not deserve to be called President or even the respect to be called Mr. Trump. He is not. He is a Bully. I am glad you called him Donald. I am sure a lot of people have another name for him right now. I am a proud Canadian. I do not blame the American people. As a Trump supporter and a Trudeau detractor, it is becoming more obvious to me that this threat of tariffs has become Trumps way of bullying Canadians into becoming the 51st state. I also believe at the same time, Trudeau has finally grown a set of balls because he is on his way out. That being said, my respect for “Donald” is falling off. Trump insists on an apology from Zelensky because he claimes that Zelensky showed him respect - and at the same time Trump calls Justin Trudeau - who is the Prime Minister of Canada - for governor. Talk about showing respect. So I'm going to call Trump a smallminded, vindictive megalomaniac, a pathological liar and a sick narcissistic baby. Nobody respects Trump; they fear him because he is an unreliable madman with a lot of military strenght and (so far) economic strenght he can threaten everybody with. Pictures of Stalin and Hitler must be hanging in his bedroom...

Its extremly puzzling why Trump is intent on causing chaos. What is the end goal, that is what people should be asking. Is it that he just doing it to stamp his authority to back up his slogan make America great again or is there an alterior motive. If its the former he is just destroying the respect poeple had for America. His obsession with imposing tariffs when he is in power must benefit him someway.

I wish us Americans could actually think intelligently, but we are stupid for electing trump and think that that clown has all he answers when all he does is destroy everything he touches. I hate Trump and everything he stands for but transgenders serving openly are contrary to the principle of good order and discipline. No matter what people think transgenders are not respected by their subordinates and there has to be respect to be an effective leader. The standards have to be the same across all branches and all jobs and that's not possible. The military is mostly populated with southern and mid western men and they will never accept this so as a veteran I support this move to ban them. I would also like to see the standards restored in regards to fat heterosexuals too. There's nothing that says lack of discipline like a fat soldier whose buttons on his BDU shirt are about to pop and they can't see their toes.

As I watched alot of EU countries Finland, Poland, Lativia closed their borders to immigrants. The US wants to do the same . We gets labeled racists for wanting this same policy. I also find that Islam is one of the most peaceful, loving religions there is. I too am very unhappy with my government for standing by and supporting the genocide of Palastine. I support President Biden and he has done many wonderful things but the support Israel by my government and president makes me infuriated. It is wrong. My now 19 year old son,my mother who lives with us and myself are looking to move as well. We want some place with winter so we can sky, and snowboard and do all things we love without having to travel two states over.
