Respect for Trump, he is doing the right thing.

Trump is doing all these crazy things but he is forgetting one HUGE thing. Canada & many other countries are Allies of America & while he's talking about tariffs & goodness knows what (I did watch his talk in Congress), at least respect your Allies. Trump is sleeping with the enemy & in all my years, I've never seen an American President turn on their Allies like this. He is a dangerous man for all the wrong reasons. I feel badly for the American people whom will be stuck between a rock & a hard place. I feel for the Canadian's whom don't deserve this. Trudeau speaks so genuinely & politely where Trump yells 'this is the way things will be'. \nI don't look forward to the next 4 years & many in my country (Australia) have said they won't even go to America while Trump is in Office. We have always loved Canada. We 'gather at Whistler' then go travel. Great country. Much love from your Aussie mates ❤❤

Hi to all the people in Canada the British people are with you, Trump has pissed off its best ally and that's the British, he has upset our long term friends & ally which is Canada - that's the people and country we in England have massive respect & love for, I don't think Trump is doing a good job right now! ?

No more buying US. No visits/ holiday's. No stocks. Cant help but feel this is what trump and musk want, i.e. to have stockmarket get weaker so they can buy more. \nLook over there...(aligning with Putin dictator, Bullying zelensky, illegal firing staff, tariffs, accusing zelensky of propaganda as US fox news is known for it) whilst they shake markets up, risking world war 3 for multiple reasons. With the Supreme court in his pocket, the US is following Putins lead and becoming a dictatorship. The law is far to pliable there at this point. \nAll those voted Trump in and think he is making America great, you are DILLUSIONAL!\nHe will take you and your families down.. the young get sent to war, the old asshole sociopathic men sit by the fire protected. It took a very long time for Germany to escape the reputation after Hitler. You want the rest of the world to disdain and never trust your country and people?! Germany recovered, but it was painful healing. \nHow bout Trump sleeps out on the streets, deals with fentanyl addicted unsupported US citizens and veterans or get sent to war? Or what about his children or grandchildren?! Would he care if they were called to stand for the country if WW3 broke out, because of him? Trump truly is making a statement... he gives 2Fs about the people, totally self serving. For the capitalist bullies who love money at any cost..even blood money... non of your investments will make a difference if you have no heating, water, food, jobs, lost family members through war and crap health system... not an ounce of love, respect, compassion, respect, leadership in the US government. The World can be better. Choose better... for all that is sacred... stop the madness!!\n\nWell done Canada & Trudeau... love and support you beautiful people. ❤\nLove and Strength to the people of Ukraine around the globe. I pray for this nightmare to end in your favour. For your loved ones to be safe and protected and that you can be reunited once more. Love and praise for Zelensky...you are a phenomenal leader. May you receive the support needed to end the war.❤\nHang tight US citizens who wish a very different US .❤

Lol love how he said “Donald” and not “President Trump.” Perfect for a ? deserving of NO respect. Barely 2 months in office and this ? is already turning us into an isolated, reviled nation seen as nothing but a gang of mercenary bullies by the rest of the sane world. I’m an American and I turn my back on this madness. I stand with sanity, justice and truth. I stand with Canada and Ukraine. ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I am never a fan of our Prime Minister but today, he got my full respect and admiration. We all know it is not about Fentanyl or illegal immigrants crossing from Canada as little as they were. Donald Trump is just using these as excuse. He is cozying up with US' one of two prime adversaries - Russia and China - and whacking friends and allies, alienating the United States. Donald Trump probably is considering authoritarian rule over democracy. I can't wait for the day that his dumb action will whack him back. Sorry Americans, you are still our friends, but not your government.

People have the right idea of talking to trump directly and make it clear that he just took sides with Russia over his allies in democracy and freedom, something that no other president would do allow a dictator to invade a country and blackmail the country that is being invaded just for it mineral and don’t have a statement of giving help. I don’t respect trump or his family they are standing by his side as he destroys the country what kind of people are they are they that corrupt the whole family is willing let their father or let her husband do what he doing without saying anything to stop the corruption.

Trudeau is one of the biggest idiots in the world. Many Canadians hate him. These comments must be monitored because I know of many Canadians that hate him. A lot of American traitors here. I am an American and I fully support President Trump and whatever he does. But I have no respect for this idiot.

Trafis = taxes. Trump is rising taxes, causing inflation, recession. Trump is the greatest crook. USA has to stop Trump. Americans are the 1 st victim of trump. He is making himself, musk, zuckerberg and all the mega rich more rich.\nThe normal American will be working slave to the neo nazi trump regime. A convicted crook, cheated on every wife he got, a pirate, a bully without friends. He is a low life. Vance a guy with colored hair and eyeliner, looks all the time like is is being potty trained .\nTrump got no deal with Putin. Putin does not listen to trump. It is a bluff. Trump is as bad as Putin. He is only interested to exploid Ukraine. \nAmericans you have to fight your worst and \n# 1enemy = trump and his boot lickers = neo nazis. The longer you wait, the more american families, veterans, economy, jobs have to suffer. Trup has no respect for Great Britain. He only would have liked to get his hands on the late Queens juwels.

As a Canadian for 45 years, we all know others write his speeches and this like many of his speeches sounds overly scripted. In this respect, I actually prefer Trump who has less filters when he speaks. Trump is clearly trying to save America from further drowing in debt by increasing government revenue while minimizing expenses which is commendable although I don't approve of all his tactics.

Robert De Niro’s statement on Donald is perfect. \n\n “I’ve spent a lot of time studying bad men. I’ve examined their characteristics, their mannerisms, the utter banality of their cruelty. Yet there’s something different about Donald Trump. When I look at him, I don’t see a bad man. Truly. I see an evil one. Over the years, I’ve met gangsters here and there. This guy tries to be one, but he can’t quite pull it off. There’s such a thing as “honor among thieves.” Yes, even criminals usually have a sense of right and wrong. Whether they do the right thing or not is a different story — but — they have a moral code, however warped. Donald Trump does not. He’s a wannabe tough guy with no morals or ethics. No sense of right or wrong. No regard for anyone but himself — not the people he was supposed to lead and protect, not the people he does business with, not the people who follow him, blindly and loyally, not even the people who consider themselves his “friends.” He has contempt for all of them. We New Yorkers got to know him over the years that he poisoned the atmosphere and littered our city with monuments to his ego. We knew first hand that this was someone who should never be considered for leadership. We tried to warn the world in 2016. The repercussions of his turbulent presidency divided America and rattled New York City beyond imagination. Remember how we were jolted by crisis in early 2020, as a virus swept the world. We lived with Donald Trump’s bombastic behavior every day on the national stage, and we suffered as we saw our neighbors piling up in body bags. The man who was supposed to protect this country put it in peril, because of his recklessness and impulsiveness. It was like an abusive father ruling the family by fear and violent behavior. That was the consequence of New York’s warning getting ignored. Next time, we know it will be worse. Make no mistake: the twice-impeached, 4-time indicted Donald Trump is still a fool. But we can’t let our fellow Americans write him off like one. Evil thrives in the shadow of dismissive mockery, which is why we must take the danger of Donald Trump very seriously. So today we issue another warning. From this place where Abraham Lincoln spoke — right here in the beating heart of New York — to the rest of America: This is our last chance. Democracy won’t survive the return of a wannabe dictator. And it won’t overcome evil if we are divided. So what do we do about it? I know I’m preaching to the choir here. What we’re doing today is valuable, but we have to take today into tomorrow – take it outside these walls. We have to reach out to the half of our country who have ignored the hazards of Trump and, for whatever reason, support elevating him back into the White House. They’re not stupid, and we must not condemn them for making a stupid choice. Our future doesn’t just depend on us. It depends on them. Let’s reach out to Trump’s followers with respect. Let’s not talk about “democracy.” “Democracy” may be our holy grail, but to others it is just a word, a concept, and in their embrace of Trump, they’ve already turned their backs on it. Let’s talk about right and wrong. Let’s talk about humanity. Let’s talk about kindness. Security for our world. Safety for our families. Decency. Let’s welcome them back. We won’t get them all, but we can get enough to end the nightmare of Trump, and fulfill the mission of this “Stop Trump Summit.””

I am annoyed with CNN for turning this into a WAFFLE Soapy...At Last Trudeau has grown BALLS and he was presenting a Polite, Rational, Understandable, Logical, Factual explanation NOT only to AMERICA BUT more so to Canada and the World that Trump is NOT actually a SMART man but rather a deranged and dangerous illiterate with NO interest other than HIS EGO...SO CNN in your wisdom you ignored Trudeau's replies to questions from the press and gave oxygen to your WAFFLE MONGERS LIGHT WEIGHT comments.\n I have never been a supporter of wishy washy Trudeau....until this polite and measured presentation by him which was brilliant as an Educational tool not only for the American People BUT also for ALL of those ALLIES in the FREE World that TRUMP has absolutely NO RESPECT for and has been singularly responsible for the FREE World ALLIES to seriously rethink their allegiances with Chaotic America due to Donald's apparently Love affair with Putin as a fellow Dictator.\n America listen up.... The U.K./Europe are cranking up their home based on their door step DEFENSE INDUSTRIES etc which will be GREAT for Europe.... BUT not so GREAT for America''s employment going SOUTH.\n I was born in 1936 in the U.K. and have first hand experience of the TORTURE Ukraine is experiencing as the RESULT of Putin INVADING Ukraine....Donald and his Attack dog Vance are dangerous illiterates.

Why are some commentators still talking about fentanyl & immigration as if it has anything to do with whats going on. a psychotic, narcissistic loon who hasn't the faintest clue about government, whose ambition is self enrichment and whose instincts are sel aggrandizement has been elected to the leadership of a country where his unique combination of idiocy, incompetence, insanity, deranged maliciousness and need to exact vengeance on those he feels failed to defer to him sufficiently (or just randomly, to assert himself) can do the most damage. Sure Trump is a fascist, but he's much, much worse: He is totally insane. What do the congressional Republicans tell their children, families and friends about why they're bowing to a clear and dangerous psychooath utterly devoid of human decency ? How do they explain their snivelling deference to a once in a millennia loonatic of these proportions. He's not only, obviously and blatantly imposing hardship on the most vulnerable Americans for personal gain, he is destroying US influence and respect globally. The rest of the world now see the US as a real and present danger. A pscho killer nation from whose derangement no one is safe. How long will this be tolerated; and how long before it occurs to Trump to drop a nuclear bomb on someone just to boost his ego? We aren't dealing with a rational mind, and RRepublicans need to be told that their 'king' went from a corporate tool to Caligula quicker than a Ferrari.

Thank you Mr. President! Nothing but respect! You are a class act, a fine example of what a man with character and common sense should act like… Trump is very jealous because he’s such a toddler constantly throwing temper tantrum‘s, he has no respect for anyone not even himself. Most of us stand with Canada and agree with you… It’s unfortunate we have a common criminal sitting in our oval office… God help us all ????

I am American independent voter who vote against Treasonous Trump this past election of 2024 in favor of Kamala Harris. While many of my fellow Americans voted for Trump many others like me did not. Now so many good and event Americans are going to suffer because of many Maga or Maga supporting Americans who foolishly chose to support Trump and his lies. Any pain and suffering Anti Trump supporting Americans, along international American Allies and theuir people, suffer will be squarely on the shoulders of Maga and Maga supporting Americans.\n\nHow Trumps first term wasn’t a wake up call and eye opener to how terrible he was and is as president is beyond me. He, treasonous Trump, did nothing to help our economy which essentially stalled or went into generally neutral state with essentially no growth positively or negatively, followed by a near complete nose dive due to Treasonous Trump’s poor handling and equally poor response to the Covid-!9 Pandemic. How people could seemed to forget that Treasonous Trump, not Joe Biden, was responsible for the current sate of things following the pandemic is beyond me. \n\nMaga and Maga supporting Americans have been conned again by Treasonous Trump, who not only failed to properly respond to the Covid pandemic but also incited and or encouraged many of Maga supporters to essentially attack the US Capitol in hopes of stopping Joe Biden’s Presidential Certification. Those in the Inter national world are not alone in their condemnation of the disgrace and embarrassment that sis current US President Trump. True Americans who believe in our constitution and rule of law as decreed by the founding fathers of our nation must unfortunately bare part of the shame Maga America has brought upon our country as a whole.Truly good and decent Americans must bare the shame of now living in a country that much International world now no longer trusts and has lost respect for. For all the hateful Maga thinking and or supporting Americans there are as many truly good non maga Americans who want more peaceful relations with allies in the international world. Sadly because of Trump and his hate many must now unjustly suffer .

The US isn't launching a trade war against anyone. We are closing up shop and are getting ready to take care of our own. There is a massive difference. We cannot be expected to continue supporting other countries economies and defense obligations, when we have 2 generations of working class citizens unable to afford a home or have children. We have entire countries we could fill with the homeless and incarcerated, and veterans who see little to no positive treatment or respect within the job market. Things are already very very bad here in the states. I don't think many Americans realize how bad the economy is. Tariffs will force US companies to reduce the outsourcing of jobs, and force other countries who are over-reliant on trade from the States, to cultivate their own self-sufficiency. This may seem hypocritical when it comes to China, but that isn't a problem you can solve overnight. \n\nTo make it clear, Americans are going to suffer in the wake of this tariff decision, but that is the price we pay to force ourselves to change. We have made ourselves into a very weak country because of overreliance on other countries trade, and other countries overreliance on our intelligence, infrastructure, medical advancements, technological advancements, and defense capabilities. The american consumer and taxpayer front the bills for all of this, and they are suffering. This isn't a war on the rest of the world. It us telling everyone else that we can no longer be relied upon because we are weak. \n\nI didnt' even vote Trump the first two times he ran. But things have now gotten so bad that I was forced into voting for him this time. Why? Because he's a bull in a china shop. I expect him to tear every damn thing apart he can within our government. I want everything destroyed so it can be rebuilt by people who aren't complacent.

As a Canadian, Trump will regret this. I repeat regret this. I am 60 years old and l never saw this ever in my life. Trump called Biden a stupid president he should eat his words and take a long look at himself. Biden had much more class and respect for others. He is attending Putin bc Putin has dirty laundry on him. Trump and Putin are the antichrist but don't realize that GOD is in command always was always will be. Lord have mercy have mercy on us all. Protect us from evil. Grant us peace in this world.?

As an American, I am totally appalled that Donald Trump is our elected president putting himself & his selfish agenda ahead of the American people. Allowing people like Elon Musk, who is not a government employee to run amok in this country doing what he pleases when he pleases under the guise of ridding our country of wasteful spending, without any type of oversight. I am appalled at the GOP that refuses to stand up to Trump for the people they swore an oath to serve faithfully because they are so afraid of what Trump will do to them if they don't bow down and do his bidding. Shame on every doggone one of you for putting yourselves first before our great country. I am appalled of all of the people who voted for Trump, you are all going to find out. This isn't some tv reality show, and we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Choosing to turn your back on our friends and ally's isn't going to go well and the American people are going to suffer because of it.

Someone asked: Why do so-called Christians think Donald Trump is some kind of savior that was appointed by GOD to save us all? Another person answered: Because of the total opposites in your statement. I am a conservative AND a believer. \nAnd that makes it so difficult for me to take Republicans serious. How in the world is it that those who profess to believe in GOD, claim to be Christians - and worship Trump? \nA self-confessed abuser of women (When you are rich, they let you do anything you want to)? \nA rapist. \nA thief (Think: Trump “University”) \nA man without respect for anyone (Think: “nick names.”) \nA liar (Think: My crowd was bigger than any ones) + 34,000 PROVEN lies more \nA hypocrite (The Two Corinthians) \nA cheater (Think: Two pregnant wives, both of whom he cheated) \nAn inciter of violence (Think: Fight like hell) \nIn no way does the man fit any concept of Christian character and yet, those who profess to be Christians think he is GOD-given??? GOD does at times allow evil leaders to be appointed over Nations as part of HIS ETERNAL PLAN in this World before the Creation of this World as in the case Egypt's Evil Pharaoh and Evil King Saul because Israel wanted a King instead of GOD'S Prophets such as Samuel directing them at the time of Israel's request.

Trump is not the US and his behavior is not in the best interest of the US. He is the president because he is a skilled con man. However, narcissistic bullying tactics do not work forever as long as there are people with a modicum of intelligence and self respect. He’s trying to be a bully to get his way because it worked for him in the past. He’s is using his position to bolster himself financially and his ego. Everyone should stand up for themselves to include those in the US.

Great speech Prime Minister. Thank you. And Donald does not deserve to be called President or even the respect to be called Mr. Trump. He is not. He is a Bully. I am glad you called him Donald. I am sure a lot of people have another name for him right now. I am a proud Canadian. I do not blame the American people. Just those who put Donald in power and those who work with him and support him. I love the US and hope and pray we will get through this together.

I like this guy, Canada Prime Minister, young and intelligent. I think Canada should let him lead the country for one more year because he is a good leader and I really do respect a leadership like that. I don’t like Trump, he want to turn America just like China and Russia country.

As a Canadian my personal politics may not always be in line with other citizens of the world, however I can respectfully agree to disagree, allowing more dialogue and discussion to continue in order to reach an agreeable compromise to find the best winning formula for all concerned. \nI have watched and listened to many American politicians from John F Kennedy to Joe Bidden, to leaders like Marin Luther King, Malcolm X, Bernie Saunders, all have something in common, respect, decorum, world knowledge, integrity, truth, honesty, honour, and heart. \nStrength is when you are able to reach out to lift someone up not to knock them down. Even the greatest professional boxers know the difference of being humble and kind when there advisory is in trouble. \nFor the first time in the history of your country you have a bully, narcissist and pathological liar, who is vulgar and unpolished as a man, father and as the President of your nation.\nI have seen our own Canadian leaders, make mistakes, stumble and fail, however they displayed grace and admitted to their shortcomings.\nI have never seen a world leader be obsessed with things such as plastic straws, pennies, flushing toilets, Hannibal Lecter, Arnold Palmer's manhood, a leader who's completely obsessed with selling souvenir and bubbles while his citizens are homeless, hungry, jobless, with runaway inflation so that something as simple as a dozen eggs are now a luxury item. \n\nYou have a president who spends millions of dollars so that he can play golf at one of his own properties, meanwhile his country is neglected. \nA brief look at his past record the pandemic under his watchful eye would have you drink bleach as a cure as many died and billionaires increased their combined wealth by trillions of dollars while the middle class and poor suffered. \nThe opioid crisis was settled under his watch which let Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family avoid jail time for committing the death and destruction of millions of lives in America. Yet Donald Trump is obsessed with the drug cartels in other countries yet he overlooks those terrorist in his own country. Is it because they are billionaires and potential cronies of his?\nRather than be completely obsessed with tariffs and creating the next disaster with his Trump Gaza Holocaust Resort, Your leader could be looking at fixing the country's infrastructure of roads, brides, tunnels, ensuring a healthy supply of drinking water, rail, housing for the homeless, affordable health care, affordable education, etc.\n\nDonald Trump is surrounded by his clowns is not just making a mockery of your country but is leading you into a very dark hole. \nThe shame and humiliation that Donald Trump has brought to your country since his inauguration will take years to correct if he is stopped now. If you the American people wait four years, WW Three will be here and it will take centuries to recover. \nTHE FUTURE IS NOW, NOT IN FOUR YEARS. AS AMERICANS YOU MUST BE WILLING TO ENSURE A TOMORROW FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.... UNDER THE CURRENT REGIME YOU ARE HEADED TO A DEAD END.

Pretext? Like attacking Zelenskyy for not wearing a suit? Surely not.\nRemember that only 33% voted for Trump: 67% of voters DID NOT: he does not represent us! Most Americans have honor and loyalty and respect our Constitution, laws, and allies, so I hope that once this very dark page in our history is past, we can again become a sane, democratic and lawful nation.

? Californian here. Thank you, PM Trudeau, for your leadership and for speaking with respect and clear intentions to rebut what you were forced into. Listening to you speak makes things feel a little less scary. To hear another world leader speak with such normality, is reassuring that democracy still exists. The last decade has been hell on Americans. Some of us have been standing up, speaking up and never giving up for a decade now. Wee are tired but we can't stop. Thank you for being a sane voice during this insane nightmare. And thank you for embracing President Zelenskyy. He needed that multileader summit embrace after what Trump did to him ?????

Trudeau is lying, thief and liar. Canadians don’t like him. Is he carrying a mirror? He loves himself. You ate a liar. You bankrupted Canada. I have a lot of relatives there throughout Canada. You were told by millions of Canadians to step down. \nWe Americans have zero respect for Trudeau. Trudeau loves attention! Go sit down, asshole. God bless our President Trump! \nYour border is better because of President Trump, you moron!\nYou are lying. \nYou are a butt kisser, Trudeau… you are taking credit for President Trumps accomplishments. What a clown. But then you are right up CNNs alley. \nYour lies are incredible. \nLie after lie after lie. You could care less about Canadians! Trudeau is a LIAR. This is my opinion based on fact.

As a Trump supporter and a Trudeau detractor, it is becoming more obvious to me that this threat of tariffs has become Trumps way of bullying Canadians into becoming the 51st state. I also believe at the same time, Trudeau has finally grown a set of balls because he is on his way out. That being said, my respect for “Donald” is falling off. I have not lost respect for the American people but I have for current American policies…

I believe Trump is only concerned about making money at everyone's expense, he is a convicted felon that has no respect except for other dictators, Impeach NOW.
2025-03-04 0
I applaud our Prime Minister for holding his ground amidst internal turmoils. It only takes a lost, uninformed person and misguided (?) person like Donald Trump, to sabotage the special relations between Canada and the U.S. \nMr. Trudeau, your eloquent speech depicts your patriotism and passion. And yes, these are the wise words of a a mature person who is firing up the patriotism as he leaves the office. Respect !Mr. Trudeau?

This Canadian president is a leader.!!! Canada wont stand alone with out getting world wide support USA have been a superpower for decades and a true democratic country that the world admired. Today this have come to a end. 2025 will go down in history for the year when Americas greatness and No1 econemy ended. The respect and the trust for USA under Trump is long gone!!! For Trump to put tarifs on canada just to make them suffer so trump can get Canada as its 51 state is mindblowing. Trump aint putting those tarifs on Canada because of fentanyl when it comes from china. Tarifs on China is another story but that will hit the US market to and companys. I cant belive the americans are just swallowing this whole without doing anything or can a president do whatever damage he wants without consequenses?

As an American I Understand and Respect your Decisions. You must Protect your Country and its People. At this time this Administration under America's Care. Cannot be Trusted! It has been laid bare for the Whole World to See? Donald Trump is in some way Beholding to Putin. Why else would He Cowar to a War Criminal over Working with Friends in Democracy ? It appears that this Administration under Donald Trump is working with and siding with a War Criminal with Criminal Intentions to Divide up The Spoils of the World after they do Everything to Destroy it.\nStand Strong Canada You are The Better of The World. Stand up for Right ,for Truths and for Democracy. We are all Depending on You now.\n??❤️

Trump insists on an apology from Zelensky because he claimes that Zelensky showed him respect - and at the same time Trump calls Justin Trudeau - who is the Prime Minister of Canada - for governor. Talk about showing respect. So I'm going to call Trump a smallminded, vindictive megalomaniac, a pathological liar and a sick narcissistic baby. Nobody respects Trump; they fear him because he is an unreliable madman with a lot of military strenght and (so far) economic strenght he can threaten everybody with. Pictures of Stalin and Hitler must be hanging in his bedroom...
2025-03-04 0
Its extremly puzzling why Trump is intent on causing chaos. What is the end goal, that is what people should be asking. Is it that he just doing it to stamp his authority to back up his slogan make America great again or is there an alterior motive. If its the former he is just destroying the respect poeple had for America. His obsession with imposing tariffs when he is in power must benefit him someway.
2025-03-04 0
I wish us Americans could actually think intelligently, but we are stupid for electing trump and think that that clown has all he answers when all he does is destroy everything he touches. He does not care about anyone and should be removed from office. To the world, I am sorry our country cannot treat our friends correctly with respect and dignity . We elect stupid people. We have no excuse and do not deserve friends we have to the world.

Now I speak to one American, Donald. Not PRESIDENT or DONALD TRUMP. Just Donald however he is wearing a suit. Nothing but respect for Canada. They see in Donald what the majority of Americans see in him also.

Trump says EU tariffs will ‘definitely happen’ as Mexico, Canada and China retaliate \nTrump takes softer line on UK, saying ‘I think that one can be worked out’, while Mexico and Canada vow levies and to strengthen ties with each other \n \nPhilip Wen, Léonie Chao-Fong and agencies \nMon 3 Feb 2025 03.57 GMT \nShare \nDonald Trump has threatened to widen the scope of his trade tariffs, repeating his warning that the European Union – and potentially the UK – will face levies, even as he conceded that Americans could bear some of the economic brunt of a nascent global trade war. \n \nIt comes as Trump’s tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China, announced on Saturday, sparked retaliation from all three countries. Mexico and Canada have vowed levies of their own while China and Canada are seeking legal challenges. \n \nTrump said on Sunday night that new tariffs on the EU will “definitely happen”, repeating previous complaints about the large US trade deficit with the bloc and his desire for Europe to import more American cars and agricultural products. \n \nEmpty shelves remain with signs ''Buy Canadian Instead'' after the top five US liquor brands were removed from sale at a British Columbia liquor store in Vancouver. \nAsian sharemarkets tumble in response to Trump tariffs \nRead more \n“It will definitely happen with the European Union, I can tell you that,” he told reporters. “I wouldn’t say there’s a timeline but it’s going to be pretty soon.” \n \nTrump appeared to take a softer line on the UK, citing a good relationship with prime minister Keir Starmer while saying tariffs still “might happen”. “The UK is out of line but I’m sure that one, I think that one can be worked out,” he said. \n \n“Well Prime Minister Starmer’s been very nice, we’ve had a couple of meetings, we’ve had numerous phone calls, we’re getting along very well, we’ll see whether or not we can balance out our budget.” \n \nIn Canada, the department of finance published a list of US products imported into Canada that it will target with a 25% retaliatory tariff starting on Tuesday. \n \nThe list shows products that will be hit in the first round of retaliatory tariffs by Canada starting on Tuesday, and mounts to $30bn Canadian dollars’ worth of goods (about US$20bn). The impacted products include tobacco, produce, household appliances, firearms and military gear. \n \nCanada is also preparing for a second, broader round of retaliatory tariffs in 21 days that will target an additional C$125bn (US$86bn) worth of US imports. The second list would include passenger vehicles, trucks, steel and aluminum products, certain fruits and vegetables, beef, pork, dairy products and more. \n \nFILES-US-CANADA-MEXICO-CHINA-TRADE-TARIFFS<br>(FILES) US President Donald Trump speaks to the press after signing an executive order in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, DC on January 31, 2025. Trump is imposing steep tariffs on major US trading partners Canada, Mexico and China, with a lower rate on Canadian energy imports, said the White House on February 1, 2025. Washington will impose a 25 percent levy on imports from Canada and Mexico, with a 10 percent rate on Canadian energy resources, until both work with the United States on drug trafficking and immigration. Goods from China, said the White House, would face 10 percent tariffs. Sheinbaum, in a statement on Sunday, said she will announce details on her government’s “plan B” as she insisted that Mexico “doesn’t want confrontation”. \n \n“Problems are not addressed by imposing tariffs, but with talks and dialogue,” she said. “Sovereignty is not negotiable: coordination yes, subordination no.” \n \n'Coordination yes, subordination no': Mexican president responds to Trump's tariffs – video \nSheinbaum and Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau spoke by phone on Saturday after Trump’s administration imposed the new tariffs – 25% on goods from Canada and Mexico, with a lower rate of 10% for Canadian oil, and 10% on imports from China. \n \nTrudeau’s office said in a statement that Canada and Mexico agreed “to enhance the strong bilateral relations” between their countries. Canadian officials have had extensive dialogue with their Mexican counterparts, but a senior Canadian official said he would not go as far as to say the tariff responses were coordinated. \n \n“Now is the time to choose products made right here in Canada,” Trudeau posted Sunday on X. “Check the labels. Let’s do our part. Wherever we can, choose Canada.” \n \nTrump acknowledged the sweeping tariffs he has imposed on Mexico, Canada and China may cause “short term” pain for Americans as global markets reflected concerns the levies could undermine growth and reignite inflation. Asian markets, cryptocurrencies and US and European stock futures slumped in early Asian trading on Monday. \n \n“We may have short term some little pain, and people understand that. But long term, the United States has been ripped off by virtually every country in the world,” he said. day, Trudeau said: “We’re certainly not looking to escalate, but we will stand up for Canada.” However on Sunday evening, a senior government official from Canada briefing reporters in Ottowa on condition of anonymity said: “We will obviously pursue the legal recourse that we believe we have through the agreements that we share with the United States.” \n \nThe official said the Canadian government considered the move by Trump illegal and said it violates the trade commitments between the two countries under their free trade agreement and under the World Trade Organization. \n \n“If other legal avenues are available to us, they will be considered as well,” the official said. \n \nCanada is the largest export market for 36 states, and Mexico is the largest trading partner of the US. \n \nCanada and Mexico ordered the tariffs despite Trump’s further threat to increase the duties charged if retaliatory levies are placed on US goods. \n \nChina also said it would file a lawsuit against the tariffs. The imposition of tariffs by the US “seriously violates” World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, China’s commerce ministry said in a statement, urging the US to “engage in frank dialogue and strengthen cooperation”. \n \nFiling a lawsuit with the WTO would be a largely symbolic move that Beijing has also taken against tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles by the EU. \n \nThe commerce ministry also said the tariffs were “not only unhelpful in solving the US’s own problems, but also undermine normal economic and trade cooperation”. China has said it would take countermeasures to “safeguard its own rights and interests”. It is not clear exactly what form these will take yet. But for weeks Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has said Beijing believes there is no winner in a trade war. \n \nLate Sunday night, Trump said he would speak with Trudeau on Monday morning and shortly after said he would speak with Mexico as well, although he did not specify that he would speak with Sheinbaum. \n \nBeyond the official response, people were already thinking of ways to cope with Trump’s decision, including by sharing suggestions on social media for alternatives to US products. \n \nCanadian hockey fans booed the US national anthem on Saturday night at two National Hockey League games. The booing continued on Sunday at an NBA game in Toronto where the Raptors played the Los Angeles Clippers. \n \nFrom left to right, Toronto Raptors forwards Bruce Brown, Scottie Barnes and Chris Boucher react as fans boo the United States national anthem before NBA basketball game action against the Los Angeles Clippers in Toronto, Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025. (Frank Gunn/The Canadian Press via AP) \nToronto Raptors fans boo US national anthem after Donald Trump tariffs \nRead more \nOne fan at the Raptors game chose to sit during the anthem while wearing a Canada hat. Joseph Chua, who works as an importer, said he expects to feel the tariffs “pretty directly”. “I’ve always stood during both anthems. I’ve taken my hat off to show respect to the American national anthem, but today we’re feeling a little bitter about things,” he said, adding that he will start to avoid buying US products. \n \nIn the streets, people in Mexico were trying to absorb the announcement on Sunday, although some in the capital acknowledged that they were unaware of the measures. \n \nIn the border city of Mexicali, across from Calexico, California, some people were concerned about the wider implications of a trade war. \n \nDriver Alejandro Acosta says that he crosses the border weekly in his truck to deliver vegetables to US companies. He said he fears US businesses in the Mexicali Valley will no longer want to operate in Mexico and they will move to the US. \n \n“If they raise taxes on the factories here, jobs may also decrease,” he said.

I hate Trump and everything he stands for but transgenders serving openly are contrary to the principle of good order and discipline. No matter what people think transgenders are not respected by their subordinates and there has to be respect to be an effective leader. In this man's case he flies as a crew of 1 and possibly 2 so he doesn't require respect from his subordinates but a frontline combat officer leading a company would get zero respect and would probably get fragged. The standards have to be the same across all branches and all jobs and that's not possible. The military is mostly populated with southern and mid western men and they will never accept this so as a veteran I support this move to ban them. I would also like to see the standards restored in regards to fat heterosexuals too. There's nothing that says lack of discipline like a fat soldier whose buttons on his BDU shirt are about to pop and they can't see their toes.

Your average soldier is not going to respect a leader or want to follow a leader who used to be a man and is now a woman and Vice, versa! I agree with Trump and Crenshaw even though I don't Crenshaw. There is no room in the military for this BS. I served 10 years and this BS is nothing more than a huge distraction. You have people who were going in just to get the operations. They spend 4 years in the military changing gender on tax payers dime. Out of the whole 4 years they may be deployable for about 6 months and that ain't all at the same time. When I was in this stuff was not an issue! They were not allowed to join and neither were gays.\n\n Think about it everyone is so bent out of shape over sexual assault well if you take a couple of gay guys and put them in an infantry unit they are going to look at all those men the same way a straight guy would look at all the girls if he was dropped off in an all girls collage. Nothing but problems and issues the military doesn't need!!! Seen it first hand back then when it was not allowed. Incase no one noticed military recruitment is down to dangerous levels! Doesn't anyone wonder why??? This post is why. No one wants to be part of a wishy washy military. It's to easy to get hurt or killed when things are running normal! Throw all the gay and trans BS in there and it just F**ks up everything!\n\nSo for 4 years they are almost always on lite duty, they are getting paid and getting the operations then at the end of their enlistment they walk out of the military the opposite sex they came in with and the American taxpayer is hundreds of thousands of dollars down for every one of these fools!!! This is what the democrats did!!! Join the Army and change your sex on us!!!\nNo place in the military for these fools. I feel that anyone who wants to change their sex is mentally ill!!! I have no desire to change into a woman and if I did I would think something was wrong with me and go get help!!!

The Colombian president asks for respect. Being illegal is a minor crime, the Colombian is not a criminal. That is what Colombia asked for. He also offered to send the presidential plane to help, but transporting a Colombian with handcuffs in international territory is kidnapping since that minor crime does not exist in Colombia. And if Trump threatens to raise tariffs, Colombia does too... and China wants to help us... gringos, the Titanic is sinking...

Read this American Trump is destroying your Contry if not he gets remove\n\nExplanation of Article 5\nArticle 5 of the NATO treaty is the cornerstone of the alliance's collective defense principle. It states that an attack on one NATO member is considered an attack on all members. This mutual defense clause has been invoked only once—after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.\n\nThe United States is bound by Article 5, meaning it cannot disregard its obligations to other NATO members, such as Denmark. The principle ensures that all members protect and support each other, creating collective security.\n\nWho Pays for Tariffs?\nA tariff is a tax or duty imposed on imported goods. There’s often confusion about who ultimately pays for tariffs. Here are the key points:\n\nImporters Pay Tariffs: When goods cross a border, the importer in the receiving country is charged the tariff.\nHigher Prices for Consumers: Importers typically pass these costs to consumers, making goods more expensive in the country imposing the tariffs.\nImpact on Competitiveness: While tariffs can make domestic goods more competitive, they often harm the economy by reducing trade and innovation.\nFor example, if the U.S. imposes high tariffs on European goods, American consumers and businesses bear the cost through higher prices, not European producers.\n\nTrade and Alliances\nThe text highlights the interconnectedness of trade policy and diplomacy. Harmful trade policies, such as aggressive tariffs, can damage relationships with long-standing allies like Denmark and the EU. If the U.S. alienates its allies, it risks losing the strategic partnerships and security benefits provided by NATO and other agreements.\n\nDenmark and other EU countries offer trade opportunities but expect respect and cooperation in return. Breaking ties with the EU or NATO could leave the U.S. isolated and weaken its global influence.\n\nConclusion\nArticle 5 ensures mutual security within NATO, including for the U.S.\nTariffs often hurt the country imposing them, as costs are passed to domestic consumers.\nStrong alliances are critical for both trade and security. Conflicts with EU or NATO countries could isolate the U.S. and undermine its global partnerships.

I am really frustrated that Americans seem to be ignoring this situation. Trump has cheated, and both he and Musk present a troubling example. It's hard to take America seriously when they are compared to Kamala. The election was compromised, and Trump is one of the worst offenders. If this continues, America will lose all its global respect. It's disheartening to see how Trump has managed to undermine 250 years of progress in such a short time, and the responsibility lies with those who voted for someone like him—a figure who has incited chaos and division. If he is given another chance at the presidency, it will reflect poorly on America, and it will result in lost cooperation from the international community.

Trump doesn't respect women, the uneducated, the educated, our armed forces (living or dead), people who work for him. He loves dictators and has told us who he is. Anyone following him has serious reality issues.

How sad is this? The cruelty is beyond belief and she isn’t even ashamed of herself. And to pretend that these people could just apply legally is ludicrous. When this lady came immigrants were still being welcomed. All you had to do was apply and wait. It’s not so easy now. Trump has spread so many lies and so much hatred that immigrants are hated. Regulations are draconian and will just get worse. Trump has said he will split up families and jail or execute immigrants if they try to get back to their families. That Americans accept this cruelty, has completely destroyed my respect for them. I used to think Americans had some bad people but the majority were good.even with the evidence that they refuse healthcare for all and decent gun control to protect children. I thought they just hadn’t realized how effective these policies are. But now it’s blatantly obvious that they don’t care about poor people or disabled or sick people. They don’t care about the elderly or the health and safety of pregnant women. They just want more for themselves and are too dumb to realize that the way to get more is to work together and help each other.

I do not blame Trump, he is looking out for HIS country, not a business deal here. I say respect him and perhaps reach out for help with some of our issues if willing. Make that our trade.

This is why Trump in the US is so popular. Trump policies: #1 he will close the southern border , 15-30 k immigrants a day everyday are allowed to into the US. Some of these immigrants are coming to do harm to the US . They are usually from Muslim countries and African countries. Most coming from South/central America are coming to work in the US , ecape violence/gangs and are also Christians (same religion ). #2 trump stated he will take away birthright citizenship. That is, if both parents are born/citizens from, for example, Syria, then their children born in US will not be granted US citizenship. The children will granted citizenship of their parents. As I watched alot of EU countries Finland, Poland, Lativia closed their borders to immigrants. The US wants to do the same . We gets labeled racists for wanting this same policy. Those EU countries got applauded ??for closing their borders for safety concerned for their citizens. If Canadian or American were to move to either country, we respect them. Americans respect Canadian laws, culture ect . Americans also wouldn't move to Canada or the UK to commit crimes or overthrow the government. We Americans, Canadians and Britts respect eachother, respect culture and would move there to be productive part of our new host country ??❤ ?? ❤ ??

I respect your decision to leave Canada. You have to do what is right for you and your family. I am not religious but I believe that all peoe have the right to believe as they choose. I also find that Islam is one of the most peaceful, loving religions there is. I too am very unhappy with my government for standing by and supporting the genocide of Palastine. I support President Biden and he has done many wonderful things but the support Israel by my government and president makes me infuriated. It is wrong. My now 19 year old son,my mother who lives with us and myself are looking to move as well. We want some place with winter so we can sky, and snowboard and do all things we love without having to travel two states over. We will be looking to leave the country if Trump is reelected president. I wish you luck, love, and blessings and safe travels in your search for your new home.
