As a Mexican, I truly respect and admire Mr. Justin Trudeau, a true leader while inmature Trump is leading the US to it's doom... lets see how this goes, Trump now has enemies all over the world, I'm so sorry for the fellow American citizens that will suffer for voting again for this hillbilly Clown and hillbilly JD Vance!

He's fantastic...THIS is what a TRUE leader looks like MAGA...he inspires his citizens to work together and that's what makes their country GREAT.\nDonald Trump has purposefully worked towards dividing American citizens from day ONE, for the simple reason of his GREED for money and lust for power, and it's laughable that his slogan is 'make America great again' because anyone with a moderately functioning brain, knows that an extremely divisive country will NEVER be 'great'.\nHell...with trump as your leader...you're barely even functioning thus far, after his 'leadership' of a few weeks. It's so surreal that this narcissistic, psychopathic person actually won the Presidential election (again). All I can say is I am sorry, embarrassed, and ashamed of my broken country's politicians in Washington, D.C. at present. Many more Americans support the democratic policies than the anti-democratic that Trump's regime is spouting all around the world. Just know this isn't what most Americans believe and we don't support his thoughts and actions. We are trapped in this nightmare that makes no sense. We hope this is just a temporary change. These new policies benefit no one but the oligarchs of America (and world). I guess we are just going to have to take our punishment for the few years for not being able to prove that these people in Washington care NOTHING for anyone, including their own constituent, and are hell bent on taking down and destroying our American, Democratic way of life and we, the people, are helpless to stopping it dissolve and crumble. This is HEARTBREAKING, because Trudeau is speaking to EVERYONE like a leader SHOULD!!! Which I do understand. As there is a genocide happening.. but at this point, I have to believe that even amongst the majority of his supporters he is not supported by the majority, major majority of the United States. The republican Congress has shown their true colors of being anti-constitutional . But they are redeemable. Do the right thing if you are in government if you have any power at all, stand up. And for the rest of us, Americans including the ones that voted for Trump let your voices be heard. Before we become something similar to Russia. And I go to prison for this comment.

American citizen here. To all my Canadian comrades, I'm truly sorry that we have such a non sensible person as President. As true allies and partners of the US that you all beautiful and wonderful people have been since the dawn of time, it's embarrassing for me to hear of these horrid tactics from our current administration.

Trump is the son of an immigrant and his first and current wife are both immigrants.\n\nIf people actually hated him for the right and true reasons instead of making stuff up and causing people to not believe when actual valid reasons to hate him are stated, he wouldn't have won twice.\n\nBlanketly denigrate the people that support him (I disagree even though I wouldn't vote for him) as moronic, but it's almost always the people making baseless statements about him that show their lack of awareness and education on who exactly Trump is and what he stands for.\n\nObama's father was African and his wife is African American. \nCalling Trump against LEGAL immigration is as ridiculous as calling Obama anti-Black.

Bit of a side note, but Latin American birth rates have dipped so low in recent years (Mexico's is now lower than that of the US), that long-term migration from Latin America will probably decrease, because young adults are the prime migrators. This is especially true given Venezuela and El Salvador will probably shrink as source countries (Venezuela because it literally had so much emigration already, that everyone who would leave, has left, El Salvador because of the recent improvements in its security situation). I'd also expect to see some Latin Americans head for Guyana instead given its oil boom. \n\nFor context, it's not actually out of the realm of current UN projections that Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole will go from having about 2x the population of the US at the moment, to it being about 1:1 by the end of the century. \n\nThat said, this could also all be counter-acted by the economic hardship aging populations in the region would bring.

Why did Canada's a lot illegal immigrants have been pouring into canada for years? This non's arrogant, American foolishness that everybody's only come to America is not true. A lot of foreigners use America as a stamping Stone to go to Canada, there's videos and proof on it. Just like in Europe has the same migration problem. It's because of the West and what England has done to all these countries hundreds of years ago they're paying the price now.

I'll admit I could be more educated on this but also why is running to America the solution. Watch our news. They use this for political gain. Year after year this happens and it's always that they changed a law somewhere. I don't know. I'm not trying to sound ignorant but unless they pretend to turn them a way but actually let everyone in, it just doesn't make sense to me to run through an American boarder. It sucks and obviously this is their better choice when they didn't have a choice maybe but still. If what we get to see and hear about what happens to them once they're here is true how much better is the choice to come here lately. I don't know but I couldn't imagine and I don't pretend to understand their hardship. I can only hope they find a place somewhere in this world. Boarders only exist on maps when it's life or death.

I can't go in florida, or Texas, or a lot of the States, because my life will be in danger... I would still take our medical system over the American system without a second thought. Though I would be in favour of a parallel paid tier that's integrated with the public tier so that the public tier benefits from the profits and investments.\nRegarding financial technology, the perspective here is slightly short sighted, although to some degree, I agree. However, there are some mitigating factors such as the high ratings of the network quality and stability for all major cell carriers despite wide swaths of our geography having little to no population and rugged topography. It's not an easy country to cover properly or reliably without it being expensive. Though Canadian telecom and cableco profits are through the roof, as are those of the big 5 banks. We definitely need more competition, though I'm not sure foreign companies coming in are the way to go with this.\nAlso, technologically speaking many important technological and scientific R&D is being conducted here and innovations are made here all the time, but in many ways, these companies get traction outside of Canada long before they get traction here.

The issue is that the intending migrants and the general public are ignorant as to asylum law. The public think of asylum as some far reaching, grandiose humanitarian gesture- when the truth is that asylum laws provide an EXTREMELY LIMITED basis of relief. \n\nMerely coming from a dangerous country is NOT enough to win asylum, in the U.S. or Canada. A person must prove they are specifically persecuted, by the GOVERNMENT, because of some specific basis. A Central American claiming Central America is full of gangs and poverty, while true, is NOT a basis for asylum. This is why it's my personal belief that the thousands of Haitians making a run for the Canadian border have an almost zero chance of receiving asylum- ESPECIALLY after NOT living in Haiti for many years. \n\nIn spite of this, migrants still make these claims because it forces the country to go through a time consuming legal process, and is a way to buy time and prevent their deportation. Or perhaps allow them time to find a local job, continue their education, or have a child born in the country and then make a humanitarian argument to allow them to stay, even after losing their asylum case. \n\nThe truth is, unless a country holds asylum seekers in detention for the entirety of the process, it's a given that failed asylum seekers will NOT return to their country of origin, and will simply go underground.
