Immigration isnt bad...its good. But open borders and a very flast influx of foreigners isnt. It doesn't make them assimilate nor does it help canadians assimilate to them. They just avoid eachother until they can't. Immigration is supposed to be a process/privilege, not to be taken for granted. Do it slow and nobody will even notice.

Immigration is a privilege, NOT a right !! WHY do these people seem to have so many rights. People who want to immigrate to Canada need to be vetted and bring something of substance to the country. The rest of Canada NEEDS to WAKE UP and follow suit. Hell, Canada looks way too much like India. Enough!!

Immigration is a privilege not a right. A shift to merit based immigration is coming, so go to school, get a job and distinguish yourselves! Then, respect your host country. Palki, you always mention hypocrisy and then you slip back into it when you get nationalistic.

Every single country has the right to accept or deny anyone wanting to enter their country based on their own criteria. Travelling to a country is luxury and living & working there are privileges! I’ve had the privilege to work and live for 2 years in India and I’ve respected every single procedure I had to go trough, I had all my papers, I respected the country and culture, did my job as good as I could, stayed out of trouble and went back home when it was time to do that. Just like India has the right to set its immigration rules as strict as they want in order to protect their sovereignty so does any other country on the face of the planet earth! If you want to be accepted anywhere on planet earth (this is an advice for everyone and anyone from any country) you must EARN IT not demand it!

There is no agenda, let me explain why.\nThe rejection rate is a better measure than rejection numbers or visa fees. And I'm pretty sure that India has a lower rejection rate compared to many other countries. It is the sheer volume of applications that contribute to this. Even 1% rejection on 100k Indian visas is a 1000 rejected visas. While a less populous country may have 10% rejection out of 1000 visas which is 100 rejections. So, in % terms, India fare well despite having higher rejections.\nFiring shots at Kosovo, Cuba and B Faso is a cheap shot and unnecessary to push the point of passport rank. All countries have a right to determine who they allow into their country with lower restrictions. And they are under no obligation to open the gates to anyone. It is also common knowledge that the newer cohorts of Indian immigrants to the West are a bad representation of Indian society (best example - Canada). Hence the rising anti Indian Immigration stance. Immigration is a privilege and not a right. I hope that the Indian community understands that the visa rejections are a lesson and not an insult, and that they learn from this and become better ambassadors when they go overseas.

Immigration is a privilege, not a right. Legal immigrants have earned that privilege. Genuine refugees deserve a fair chance at getting that privilege too. Illegal immigrants switching between countries pretending to be refugees don't qualify. These are the same people who went to the US illegally in the first place, then hope to come to Canada illegally when it's bad in the US, and then will return to the US illegally when things will get better there.

No Offence to anyone but when you applied to come here as a student or tfw you had to prove and swear that you will go back home once your studies or work permit is done , its a part of the cbsa and irrc questioning if your protesting you are breaking the rules and laws of your visa and you are subject to deportation because you lied to immigration and the cbsa , i lived in another country for 3 years during covid i could stay up to 3 years with my visa , my last renewal the officer told me sir this is the last renewal you will have to leave so that is what i did i respected the laws of the host country and went home , i feel sorry the students were lied to by the schools the government and THEIR own People telling them they will get pr give us 20k-30k cdn $ but thats not our problem .... vet the agencies yourself before applying , come here legally and there is no issue , but don't think our country has to give you pr or CITIZONSHIP just because you spent allot of money or worked here pr and CITIZONSHIP is a privilege NOT A RIGHT , when you had the interview with immigration and the cbsa what did you Promise i will leave didn't you ? time to start packing like i did go home and better your country with the knowledge you go from here if you dont break the rules you can always come back Legally god bless and good luck

Immigration is a privilege and not a right! The Punjabi fake students have brought great shame to the Indo Canadian community. Fake students attending fake schools on fake documents...what could go wrong?

This journalist seems to forget that immigration is not a right but a privilege. I am sick and tired of the demagogues who keep parroting the same faux arguments about the so-called contribution of immigrants. It used to be like that, because immigrants were carefully selected. Now, it's no longer the case and we can see that the elites have a very strange plan for us. Is it a way to destabilize the country, create chaos, and unrest so the government can justify its control claiming we need more security, cameras around the city for surveillance, and more coercion only to make our lives as free citizens impossible? I am just saying...

It’s their country, their rules. \n\nI’m an international student too, and I’ve worked in the U.S. for 3 years on post-graduate work VISA on a high-skilled engineering position. But I failed to get my U.S. work visa since it’s a lottery process. Despite wanting to stay, I have no grudges against possibly leaving. It’s their house, it’s their rules.

Canada has always been a peaceful, prosperous, progressive and a good governance oriented nation. In the recent decade, too much of woke, radical left wing ideology has penetrated into policy and public institutions that have led to Canada’s current day crisis. \n\n2. This country has always welcomed talented immigrants who are willing to integrate with the Canadian society, embrace its values, traditions and culture. However, in the last 10 years, too many refugees and reckless mass immigration has put an incredible pressure on the economy, infrastructure and social cohesion. \n\n3. The political leadership has allowed reckless mass immigration without caring to boost the economy/infrastructure to handle the volume and hence the sorry state of affairs. \n\n4. Too many immigration consultants of Indian origin engage in outright VISA frauds (yes, this is unfortunately true) leading to ppl coming in as a tourist and then seeking asylum or converting their visa into a student visa (55 year olds from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat coming here as students).\n\n5. A significant chunk of people coming from India (esp. Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat) seeking a permanent residency in Canada are using student visas as a back door to claim eligibility for PR/citizenship. This is downright abusive and was never intended to be used like this. This has fueled a fake college diploma industry into Canada where “2-room” colleges have sprung up along the highways giving out fake diplomas and certifications for easy cash. Thus, the students, the immigration consultants and the fake diploma issuing colleges are all getting benefited from this scam. The internet is filled with such sting operations by Canadian officials exposing Indian students/immigration consultants. Do check them out. \n\n6. Unlike the past, the recent batch of immigrants in the last 3 years or so, make no effort at all to integrate into Canadian society and abuse the system, create law and order problem, drive recklessly, talk loudly in public spaces, litter everywhere, cross railway tracks like they do in India, steal liquor from stores, shamelessly collect food from food banks (as a way to save on groceries) that are meant for the elderly, disabled or those that are in utter poverty. It wasn’t like this ever before. In cities like Mississauga, Brampton and Surrey, the Khalistan movement + gangs involved in theft, drugs and human trafficking are from Punjab/Haryana and they have mushroomed here like crazy. A good 30-40% criminals in prison or on bail in these cities are of India ethnicity. \n\nIt is behaviours like these by Indians in the recent few years that has thoroughly infuriated native Canadians and now they hate the rest of us that have lived here peacefully and have been good citizens. There is a very serious, very real anti-immigrant (anti-Indian too) sentiment building up here. \n\n7. Lastly, the student protests that you have highlighted here is absolutely ridiculous! These students from India came to Canada under a student visa knowing fully well that they are supposed to go back after the completion of their studies, and now they are DEMANDING that they be issued extensions in work permits and be considered for PR. This is insane! This is because they never intended to return to India in the first place and were abusing the system as a back door entry. They are threatening to go on hunger strikes and what not. Legally, on a student visa, they are NOT allowed to participate in any sort of activism. \n\nNOBODY that comes to our country on a temporary visa (student, tourist etc.) has the right to dictate terms to us and demand that we change our immigration policies based on their preferences. No, that will not happen. \n\nCanada, like every country, has the sole right and privilege to decide who gets to become a permanent resident or a citizen based on our national priorities and strategic interests. I see nothing wrong in this principle.\n\nThanks for the video and I hope you will consider the other side of this argument as well. Canada alone is NOT at fault here. Immigrants and temporary visitors from India have some soul searching to do as well.

These people come here on fake Visas and immigration papers they are pretty notorious for this issue, fake driver's license no wonder Brampton insurance is too high they don't know the rules of the road. No they should be all deported.\nImmigration is not a right but a privilege you abuse it you lose it indefinite...... are politicians are very weak and have no balls to do anything but make the situation even worse.

Canada Immigration used to be so competitive 16 years ago. The cause of this mass immigration is the current government who granted visa to developing countries knowingly the fees are not affordable still visa was granted for a cheap labor.People move around seeking better quality of life. The charm of Canada was Health Care, Education. sixteen years ago I had seen my immigrants, and student who came to Canada for grad studies. Canada had a strict immigration rules and having permanenet resident was an achievement, dream felt so privilege.

What do they do next…\nMake settlements… Make big ethnic colonies… make money… send back to their countries.. sees lot of issues like drug addicts, mafias… tries to take the things in their control… become the majority…. Racism is a problem in Canada if a foreign accent you a put under the carpet because born in Canada is a privilege. \n rental also is discriminatory for new comers.\nLastly aging people are discarded away waiting to die in an appalling manner.\nNo drs are another issue , go to an emergency room and take a look at the amount of immigrants in emergency room because of the lack of care.\nIf an immigrant get sick or disabled there aren’t benefits. \nImmigration to Canada is not a good thing if looking for Financial progress. \nCanadians don’t want to have children because is expensive and opening immigration isn’t happening.\nSomething needs to change

Funny how they want to blame immigration. Jobs are everywhere but employers know that immigrants are more disciplined, hard working and appreciative of the opportunities provided, when compared to the average Canadian-born citizen. I've seen it first hand. \n \nOh and, the influx of Indian immigration boosted Canada's GBP by $20 Billion, last I checked. America is a good example, Indians and Pakistanis are the most successful ethnic group, everyone else is behind. Not only that, but they have to work TWICE as hard to get HALF of what their white counterparts do. \n\nAlso, lets not forgot how unsympathetic white America was when black Americans were going through the crack epidemic. They didn't get a shred of the support that's being given out today, instead it was jail. \n\nWhite Privilege is very real and especially in countries like Canada and the United States. If white people fall through the cracks this hard en masse in a society that makes it easiest for them to succeed, then it's truly over. The decline will continue.

REMINDER: Immigration is NOT a human right - it is a PRIVILEGE and if you can't afford it, don't bother.

This is what occurs when you fail to secure your boarders and ensure you protect those boarder with robust enforcement. Would anyone allow free entry to their home to anyone? Obviously not, yet every Country has a vocal minority who protest against boarder controls, they encourage and support mass immigration for all comers. \n\nYet when crime, drugs, and public disorder takes over they cream and shout! What, did he think he would be given a free ride? Does he actually think immigrating to a new country wasn't going to cost him anything? How many years did he live in the US? And now, in Canada for the last 10+ months, yet he can't speak a fucking word of English? \n\nNow he complains that the process is taking too long, yet, had he immigrated legally (as he should have), it would have taken FAR longer and would have to spend that time inside his home country...\n\nI really don't get his attitude, he feels as though he's entitled to immigrate to the US, even though he made absolutely no effort in doing so legally, made absolutely no effort into learning the most widely spoken language on Earth, so he became a criminal by illegally crossing the border and living in the US for years... Then, when he's about to get busted and deported back to his home country, he pulls the exact same thing, illegally crosses the border into Canada, taking the money he's stolen from the US with him, while STILL unable to speak either official languages in Canada where speaking Spanish is about as useful as a condom in a lesbian orgy, nor making any effort into actually learning said languages, and tries to claim refugee status? Refugee status for what? He's not fleeing any war or conflict, the only thing he's fleeing is deportation to his home country from the US because he crossed the border into the US and lived there ILLEGALLY, he's a fucking criminal... And yet, he STILL feels he's entitled to cross the border into Canada and thinks they'll welcome him with open arms...\n\nWhere do these people get the idea that they have the RIGHT to just enter whatever country they wish without having to go through the immigration process? These processes are there for a reason, we don't allow just anyone to immigrate here...\n\nImmigrating to the US is a PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT... Immigrating to Canada is a PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT... \n\nThe fact that this guy and his family have entered 2 countries ILLEGALLY and stayed within its borders ILLEGALLY for all this time, and in both cases, REFUSED to learn the language, and when he was about to be deported back, he fled and kept hiding from immigration officers... That makes him and his family CRIMINALS, and rightfully so... They should be found immediately, arrested and subsequently deported back to the US to face whatever charges, and then deported back to his home country... Period...
