Just to make a correction, I 25 (F) daughter of immigrant parents was born and raised here, live in the greater toronto area and wanted to mention that a lot of folks believe the ones behind the crime rise in toronto are the new immigrants. I'm sorry to break it to y'all but if you do the research a lot of the people behind the crimes are born and raised canadian idiots (they could either be white canadian or children of immigrants aka 1st generation Canadians from any country). Its a big misconception people have regarding the crimes. All they see is a non white name and assume they're an immigrants. Majority of them are actually not even immigrants. I am Native American. At college, I took a welding course just to break the monotony of classes as I was raised using my hands. This immigrant male, asked the rest of the class "why is she here?". I asked if he had a problem with me and he looked at the class to tell me not to speak to him. No one said a word but looked between us in silence. I asked him again, "do you have an issue with me being here?". Again he told the rest of the Caucasian men to tell me to stop speaking to him. I said if you have a problem with me, let's step outside and one of us will walk back in. You can't accept that a Native female is in this class, pack your family up and go home. Don't think of the state's because that's mine too. The teacher walked in and he could see and sense the tension in the room. He removed the immigrant and they went out of the room. A few minutes later the instructor came in and looked at me and said he'll be taking a class with no females. His country doesn't allow females an education yet alone a trade. You're welcome to stay. I have no intention to leave, was my comment back. I'm here to learn. Decades later, I'm driving home from northeastern Quebec and on the 401 is a gas/food stop. My child and I were passed by 4 luxury sports cars. They pulled into this stop and parked across all the handicapped parking spots. Bumper to bumper across the spots. We went in and met them as we came out and met a truck driver of the same nationality. He asked "how is Canada treating you?". They smiled and said "look", motioning to their silk suits. Another pointed to their cars. And another said "they treat us like kings'!". The fourth said "Canadians are easy to play! Cowards!!" A few days later, I'm at Walmart and present my tax exempt (we pay 5% tax) but the cashier looks at it and states "you all think your so special!!" Your paying the tax like everyone else! A customer behind me yelled for management loudly. When management showed, I didn't say a word because it was the customers behind and on the side of me with complaints of the rudeness of the cashier. She was removed and manager took over transactions. Not just mine but those after me. There was another incident with my child. An immigrant (can tell by the long tunic) was trying to lure my daughter away from me. I put her in a cart and requested help from a young employee who wanted me to write a book before calling security. Another employee came over and called security immediately. By the time they found the man, he had exited the store and got into a taxi. A few weeks later at an arena where youth hockey practice was taking place, the same scenario was happening. A man in a tunic was trying to lure children away and when caught, jumped into a taxi and left the scene. To attack an adult who can defend themselves is one thing but to go after children is another. I say stricter policy on crimes are needed.

They’re awful and need to go home. Can’t even call the bank without not understanding what they’re saying or eat take out food that doesn’t taste like Indian spices or walk down the street and only hear Indian music…my daughters class last year was only Indian and Arabic kids and the principal was Indian how are they gonna teach Canadian culture and education I’d ask what she did in school she said learned Indian dances. I’m 11 generations Canadian and they completely chaged our small home towns and neighbour hoods we have our own customs and cultures and it’s all gone now also there’s so much rape and assault charges or teachers molesting kids or men in girls bathroom and it’s Indian men!!! (This can be viewed as assumptions but it's factual) Was at a A&W last night me and my fiancee were the only Canadians there... went to Walmart after.... Now sure I wasn't in every part of Walmart but I only seen one actual Canadian born worker... Sure it can be said it's assumption on my part but I am confident with my assumption based on what I saw. Our public transportation ( bus ) there's only 4 Canadians left. Now our busses speed, don't give time for people to get on safely.... accidents almost daily. And from what I heard there has to be a shuttle bus on standby because the new drivers just make false claims of accidents and issues so shuttle has to come and pick up the people on the bus to finish the route. Our rental market is far and thin. Our homeless is Canadians NOT foreign. And we are seeking illicit activities and mind altering chemicals to deal with the stress of life more and more each day. Concerns me my son and daughter have to grow up like this. I fear for them and their future in a country that I once believed in. I'm not racist I try my best to treat everyone fairly and equally. But Canada is changing and it's causing great impact we can't handle.

My neighbours daughter was denied a employment from an establishment which is frequented by all and was told if she doesn't speak Hindi she cannot be hired. I told her to report them to the government and the HO of the company. I will not say which company but I'm sure someone can guess the establishment in less than 3 guesses

Look, I'm a white Canadian, and I don't hate Indians at all. However, lately, there are far too many Indians arriving here. I live in a small town, and the vast majority of the workers in all our franchise restaurants, Walmart, hotels, etc, are Indian. Yes, some Indians really have been pooping on the beach. I've seen videos posted by Indians about Indians pooping on beaches in places like Goa. No, not all Indians do that, but it doesn't reflect well on Indians. My next-door neighbours are Indian immigrants, and stereotypically, they own a pizza franchise lol. Their children play at our house with our daughter almost every day. On a negative note, they only hire other Indians to work in their store. In general, the indians that are in Canada do need to work on their cultural integration. My neighbours brought their parents over, and they aren't even trying to learn English. I don't want Canada to become like India. Also, I dont think that most Indian immigrants really want that either, but if we keep flooding Canada with Indians, that will eventually happen.

I think that what you are describing is the case in most western traditionally European countries. I also think that is on purpose. I live in the US and have my entire life, I'm in my 50's (let's just leave that there!). the same can be said for many places in this country. I've lived in newengland my whole life. it used to be considered the benchmark when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's , as far as cost of living , cost to buy a home , wages and job opportunities , quality of life, safety. its not the case now. I did recently move to extreme northern new England this year as southern New England where I grew up and my family is , too crowed, too expensive etc. I am within 1-5 miles of Canadian border where I am now, but still in US! I do have a current passport, just renewed it and plan to visit NB and Quebec City and hopefully PEI . I do live in a very rural area with low population currently. farming and timber are main industries here. not a lot going on, but at my age I really enjoy it. reminds me of how things used to be when I was growing up 40 years ago! people and even young people are polite and decent here, no traffic. its a bubble, but we are 500 miles from the chaos to the south. I left 1999 and returned 2223!!! OMG! It sucks! This is not the Canada I know. I'm here for my son who is going thru cancer treatment. He never wanted to leave Canada. My other son left for Australia & my daughter in Boston. They will never return!!!1 in 5 ....no fam. docs. Emergency is a nightmare. I have been in Canada for past 10 years. Life have changed a lot since then. Standard of living has come down. Rent and mortgages increased. Job lay offs. Higher grocery rates and everything have gone up. It’s so hard to survive here. I had a severe sprain in my knee and I could not walk at all. I got MRI appointment 1 year after I went to doctor. This was the worst thing I experienced. My daughter was born very micro premature, doctors took good care of her and she survived here in Canada. We paid 0 dollars. In India the treatment would have costed close to 1 crore or I can say there is no specialized treatments in India for such micro premature babies. I’m thankful to Canada in this case. I have seen best and worst. So I’m neutral here. But I strongly suggest students not to come to Canada at this moment. This country does not have enough jobs, no proper education, no standard of living now

The DEI department of my company approved a Punjab manager, and now more than half of the staff is Punjab. I was sold the idea of diversity, and I fell for it. I’m the minority of the minorities. Despite being a full Canadian now, every single day I think more and more of just going home. I’m tired of Canada.

The eye infection hits home. I'm in Canada. I had an eye infection and couldn't see a doctor. Ended up having to go to a pharmacist to get over-the-counter polysporin anti-biotic eye drops. My daughter then got it much worse and couldnt' get in to see any doctors at all. Had to go to an eyeglass store that had an optometrist on site who was able to write her a prescription eye drops.

One man felt bad because I replied and said I understand and no worries he felt so bad and I kept telling him not to and that I understand then he said he will ask the other 2 Indian ppl if they’d mind but I didn’t reply. Most indian old people ( parents of young people working in Canada or USA) who live there with their children are bereft of any idea to make their individual life any better. I found none with any hobbies. They treat themselves as deadwood and complain they can't do this and that. They can't gossip ? that is their problem. None of them read, write, paint, play music, garden, create any handicraft. They cook, clean the house and wait for their tired children to come home from work and complain They are bored. Just because they hate their own company. I'm 72 and I enjoy my annual long trips to Canada. 24 hours is not enough for me. My 70 years old wife and I remodeled our daughters house on our last trip. Before that was creating a new garden. Our canadian friends wait for us to cook or bake with us. \nI don't understand what these people are complaining about ? May be they miss the filthy Mumbai streets where they can throw anything in the streets and be filled with high decibel noise 24/7. \nI will make the best chicken Tikka masala with canadian ingredients in Canada. I would hope you could find happiness in Canada. One of my concerns about living in a theocratic country would always be, is this choice really your own? Can you ever be certain, if faced with violations of your rights, that the choice is really yours? And, if not, can you consider yourselves as choosing Islam, rather than being forced into it, even if in absence of theocratic rule, you would have chosen it anyways? Maybe I’m overthinking it. I have the tendency to do that. I think if I were Muslim, I might choose Tunisia. I’ve known people from Tunisia and it sounds like they’re pretty open-minded, but still obviously predominantly Muslim. I’ve been to Dubai, and while I see many people recommending it, I honestly thought it was the worst combination of East and West. All the commercialization of the West, but none of the democracy. Plus, if you are not native Emiratis, you will always be second class. I’m from the US in what I think is the mini-Canada (ok, the Twin Cities) and we have a big Muslim community, but I’m very concerned Trump will win again in 2024, and I don’t know what will come of it. My daughter is part Afghani, but raised Catholic because her father’s side is irreligious. But I still worry for her, looking like she does and carrying that last name. People are so awful.

I respect that your intentions are pure and you want the best for your children. I’m an Australian convert and have lived in Pakistan and Saudi also. There were positive and negative in all 3 of those places but by far feel that Australia is the best place to raise children. In Pakistan, twice while wearing full black abaya and hijab I had men try to grope me. I have a teen daughter and she enjoys certain levels of freedom here but I wouldn’t let her walk out of the house in Pakistan. Saudi was safer than Pakistan but had its own issues. You likely won’t agree with all the governmental decisions in any country you go to. I don’t agree with the government decisions of any of the 3 countries I mentioned above, if that’s a reason to leave a country then it’ll be a problem everywhere. Sorry it’s counter to your point but just sharing my experience. The grass isn’t greener. Oh and one other thing o noticed, in these countries your kids witness “Muslims” doing terrible things and it’s really difficult to explain.

I'm so disappointed in you all. The irony is that I have a daughter who is constantly being targeted by young neighboring men here, kids whose folks came here as refugees from the Islamic world. They treat this modest, young woman --- and so many others--- like less than dogs. Muslim men in predominantly Muslim societies have no special mandate in treating women well. As we have been able to see in Gaza.

I was born in Canada but I'm married to an immigrant, a hard-working model citizen who is loved by everyone, we have a child together and we've now decided to move back to Japan. I will not have my daughter grow up under sharia law. I'm educated enough to know what happens when we allow Islam power. They will become the majority because, they use violence to attain their goals, and Canadians are too politically correct, too afraid of being accused of being Islamophobic. Many will think that it won't happen here, just as they think that they will never become ill or be harmed by anyone, but it will certainly happen. We are preparing to leave soon.

I am so happy to be able to live, in my language and in my culture, in the magnificent city of Quebec. I'm not rich, but I have a magnificent three-story residence there in a beautiful neighborhood where vegetation abounds, where crime is almost non-existent, and above all where my daughter also lives with my grandson!\nIt would never occur to me to move to Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver or any other large Canadian city. On the other hand, I could do it in almost any human-scale city in Canada, the United States or Europe. Everyone to his own tastes !

Well made. Wish I had this info atleast a decade ago. I’m one of the Sanjay. Immigrated to US in 2008 from India. In the green card queue for 10 years. Not sure if I get it in my lifetime. I have a foreign born daughter who I brought here when she was only few months old. She might have to self deport in a few years when she is 21. This is her home and only country she knew.\n\nThe US immigration system is cruel for people like Sanjay. But every politician knows this problem after our advocacy efforts but nobody wants to touch it. They only want our tax $$$ ..
