Canada is being ruled by a globalist criminal cartel. Arrest the traitors in Ottawa. Vancouver BC has truly become a hub of transnational organized crime and our government seems blithely unopposed at best, a criminal participant most likely. Seriously, its looking more and more like elements within the Canadian federal government are complicit in importing Fentanyl for money laundering and housing bubble purposes, and tangentially, our government therefor has chosen to make Canada part of a supply chain that involves cartels, Triads, the CCP, and kills a ungodly amount of Americans and Canadians. Literal organized crime money laundering and the government has been *encouraging* it since the 80s and its largely why our houses are now insane prices. I'm not being facetious when I argue that Vancouver is the frontlines for the modern Opium War the CCP is waging on The West. Look up Vancouvers Downtown Eastside. Our government is complicit with Cartels and the CCP in importing Fentanyl as it's used in the real estate money laundering business dubbed 'The Vancouver Model'. Trudeau was elected with a promise to end fossil fuel tax subsidies but they're over $20+ Billion Canadian taxdollars now (before the $80billion negative externalities), and he obviously broke that promise, probably because the oil and gas industry and their cronies wouldn't let him. The oil and gas industrial complex (remember when Trudeau promised to end fossil fuel tax subsidies and instead tax subsidies to this private, for-profit industry with titanic negative externalities, only increased to over $20,000,000,000 (billions of dollars in a nationstate of millions)), the cable industrial complex, the mining, fishing, forestry, and other resource extraction industrial complexes, the military industrial complex (not just in Canada, but all of NATOs military industrial complex has too strong of an influence over our politics). These are all owned by a relatively small group of billionaires. We, the people, are all getting poorer while the rich get richer; our civilization in "The West" is sick, and the corrupt actions of many arms of our corporate industrial complexes and their Oligarch owners are not a symptom, but the foundation of the sickness. Our political parties are owned by them, our prisons, our food industries are the same people that used to own Cigarette companies, its incestuous how small this group is becoming. They'll put Lead in the gasoline AND milk next time we stop forcing these profit driven asshole corporations to act ethically. Some billionaires are cool. Some industries NEED regulation. Has anybody ever even mentioned that border control happens at the country that you enter? There is no way for the Canadian government to control the flow of fentanyl when it's the US side that have the agents at the border. Why is this expected of Canada when it's the US agents that are in control of what comes in?

As a Canadian who lives in (largely French-speaking) Quebec, I don't know if our gov't even NEEDS to tariff American consumer goods, the people here are already boycotting US goods and companies en masse. EVERYBODY is doing it - and the pace isn't going to recede anytime soon. Even after the Orange Turd is long gone, trust me, Canadians will remember this! The American state has proven it cannot be trusted. They have unilaterally broken the trade agreement (negotiated by the previous Donald J Chump administration) on the flimsiest of reasons, the 00.2 % of fentanyl that flows over the border into the US from Canada. That deal now obviously not worth the paper it was signed on.

Fentanyl flows FROM the US into Canada, NOT the reverse.

Just stop the flow of fentanyl and help us secure the border. Tariffs will end if that happens. These politicians irritate me in that they clearly care more about themselves than us.

Fentanyl isn't flooding in the US from Canada (0.2% !!). In face I wouldn't be surprised if more is flowing into Canada from the US than from Canada.

Trudeau has the nerve to say that the US-Canadian border is safe and secure. But in Paliament he regularly complains about illegal items flowing over that same safe and secure border. You cant have it both ways Prime Minister. \n\nAlso, fentanyl has legitimate medical uses. So saying that you are going to wipe Fentanyl from the face of the earth is odd.

Let me explain the trading relationship briefly that occurs between Canada and the US for context. \n \nCanada Has a LOT of natural resources, more than our domestic manufacturing base needs (Uranium fuel, Lumber/paper products, Steel and other metals, Fertilizer for farms...etc). Therefore we sell those raw materials to the states where they are manufactured into goods, which we then buy back. a LOT of American service companies like tech, media (And yes, even banks)...etc also operates in Canada as well. (For the auto sector the parts flip back and forth across the border like 8 times) \n \nThis relationship alone has the American economy see a large trade surplus with Canada, however there is another element to it: Energy. \n \nCanada is also home to a LARGE amount of really cheap renewable hydro power in the east, and a LOT of oil in the west, due to a lack of infrastructure we really can only sell that oil to the states and therefore it is done at a discount. America refines this cheap oil into gas and is a large part of the reason why American gas is so cheap. They use this energy to power the same factories mentioned above. (Oh and also the NE states import a lot of that clean hydro electricity for the same reasons) \n \nThe US Buys SO MUCH of that cheap energy from us to power your industrial base, that it swings the numbers on the trade balance into a small deficit for the USA. (41 billion out of a TRILLION dollars total trade, or about -4.1% of total trade so literally a pretty small deficit) It also swing back and forth every year so \n \nThen comes Trump. He wants Canada as a 51st state and own the entire continent, therefore he manufactures an excurse that our border is leaky and that migrants and fentanyl are flowing over. (In actual case migrants and the flow of Fent is about 1% the amount that's crossing at the Mexico border but he needs an excuse) \n \nHe therefore puts 25% tariffs on us. Those tariffs will hit Canada harder than the 2008 financial crisis just for scale. \n \nOh and also for the most part American Refineries literally cant process any other oil than ours or Venezuela's because its thicker so tariffs on our oil will also really increase the priced of energy in the states by a huge amount just for the LOLs. As we've seen during the post covid recovery, since gas is priced in to the supply chain at every step (Manufacturing, transportation...etc), any increase at the pump will snowball into higher costs for everything at the store, on top of the extra cost of the tariffs on consumers. (Since every step will need to add it into their markup.)

Canada was requested numerous times to help stop the flow of fentanyl which Mexican cartels trafficked that killed 200,000 Americans. Trudeau's reply is only 1% of fentanyl comes through Canada.. even though they don't properly secure the border and everyone knows the amount is significantly higher.\nTrudeau ran to Mexico to sweet talk THEM into mutual trade deals rather than assist the US stopping Mexican cartels.\n\nTrudeau should be arrested and tried by military tribunal for his participation in 200,000 deaths.

President Trump is not going to listen to you if you are not stopping the flow of fentanyl coming into the US. President Trump doesn't play games with business so you Mr. PM Trudeau are not doing what President Trump asked you to do. The fentanyl flowing in from Canada is hurting American people and it's unacceptable to President Trump. If Trudeau wants to work with Americans he has to stop lying and do what President Trump asked him to do.

What a crock of crap! The USA has the problem of weak borders, so they need to step up their border patrol. Canada is securing their borders because of the frequent and much more abundant cases of drugs and guns being smuggled into Canada! The stepped up Canadian border enforcement was already well underway months before Trump made his tariff threats. \nThink about it, the 43lbs of fentanyl that was smuggled in from Canada, at the US border, is a drop in the bucket in comparison to the flow of it that comes in through the ports. Also think about when you cross a border, it’s the country you are crossing into that checks you out. Classic case of Trump blaming others for US failure.

Why Canada is NOT responding to President Trump call: To secure & stop flowing of FENTANYL to US through CANADA-US border.

They knew this was coming and they refused to help the US secure the border. I'm sure if the drugs were flowing into these counties from the US, they would want immediate action on our part. Fentanyl is the #1 cause of death between the ages of 18 to 45 in the US. We are losing over 100,000 US citizens to this drug. Where are allies to help the US?

Equation is simple. Stop the flow of undocumented immigrants and illegal drugs into the US. Secure the border. Fight the cartels. The drug issue is a shared responsibility and Mexico needs to step up. 75000 americans die from drug overdoses every year. Tariffs are a means to end the fentanyl epidemic
