Trump has been in office for a few months and not only managed to turn their biggest ally and one of the most friendliest and peaceful countries in the world against the USA, screwing over all of America, but also managed to piss off the Europeans… in what world was it a smart idea to start a trade war with a country you get most of your gas, oil, electricity, water and minerals from?

Who exactly is your enemy in this world? Leaders like Trudeau, Zelenskyy, Starmer, and most European leaders often sound like staunch supporters of AIPAC. Meanwhile, Trump negotiated with Russia and China to establish peace deals and broader economic opportunities that could benefit everyone. In contrast, these diabolical figures seem to be freeloading, using U.S. tax dollars to pursue their own agendas, targeting anyone who doesn’t align with them—including major superpowers. This isn’t America’s problem to solve. They refuse to admit that without the U.S., they have no leverage left to play with.

We europeans are threatened in the east by Russia and in the west, incredibly, by the USA (in addition to the trade war with the EU, Trump just a short while ago said he will take Greenland one way or another). As a European, it's a pitty I'm not in America anymore. I'm very curious what the American citizens think about this. This will have a negative effect on the entire world. I have to confess I don´t know much about the actual canadian politics. But this reaction of Mr. Trudreau was very impressive. As a german European I know we are together in this completely insane situation initalised by the pathetic performance of the Trump administration. But with Canada on our side, with a strong leader as Trudeau I´m optimistic that the european leaders will also unite and focus not on their differences but on the common interest to stop this destructive US Goverment from destroying the free western society.

A message to Trudeau. Put an export tax on the Oil and Electricity sold to the United States. Open up new European Markets for Oil and Natural Gas product and sell directly to Europe and Japanese markets. China needs oil, there is plenty of market around the world for our products. The Tariff's imposed by Trump is only going to make product to the US more expensive for their own citizens, and with Tariff's on all American imports, if they can't make it, or they don't have the raw materials to make it themselves, they will have to pay more. It is not necessary to impose Tariff's on USA Products to penalize Canadians, but Canadians will find new markets to replace the US, and we won't even notice it happened. We have alternatives. The southern islands are great vacation locations, and with the weather disasters they have suffered over the past few years, they could use the tourist support to help rebuild, and, their people are friendly and don't carry guns.

Trump is obviously transferring most of US assets in East and Southeast Asia. While we are seeing bad trade news after another, this is only focused mainly on Western countries.\n\nJapan and Taiwan recently pledging billions of USD as investments are one of the indications that Trump is relocating its financial and possibly military support to Asia. Philippines will also be conducting a meeting with him and I think he would have defense and economic deals with our country as well.\n\nCanadian and Mexican economies would indeed suffer while European security would be in danger with the US pulling out of NATO soon. But we are seeing an indication that the trade and defense assistance is being transferred to Pacific Asia for some reason. This would mean the economic repercussions would not bring down the US to its knees, but it would still be pretty significant early on since Asian markets would take a while to develop.

European here (Swedish/Germn born in Austria) Cudos to Canada! Even if Trump should row back Canada will not forget this and has once and for all realized that their dependance on the US is not sain. So this was really dumb - Canada is already negotiating with other markets, amongst others Europe. And on the long run this will be worse for the US than for Canada!
