This country must remain peaceful and save for everyone. When we come to Canada we must intend to help build and maintain a stable society not tear the country apart and put others at risk. IMO France 24's reporting is a little confused on this issue. You're getting the perspective of 1) immigrants that have been denied a path to citizenship and 2) corporations that can't offer attractive wages to Canadians. We have far too many companies whose business model is that Canada should be a low-cost labour source, i.e. they've invested in a future supporting immigrants and not Canadians.

Had fellow college students that have literally told me that they aren't here to learn and are here to just finish the college program to get a job because they would earn more doing any job in Canada than in India. India work market is saturated because of the population and wages are low. The Canadian government use them because they pay triple for schooling that's it. My parents immigrated in the early 90s and I was born in Canada. It’s very hard to relate to the new immigrants in the last 10 years because we’re so different. The families that immigrated in the 80s and 90s had to assimilate and become “Canadian” which in hindsight was for the best. I learned about my culture and language at home, but my parents, emphasized the importance of being “Canadian first” and being a part of society and “fitting in.” This wasn’t at all a bad thing. I learned to ski, skate, make ice lollies with snow and syrup, went camping, played sports… I feel embarrassed when Indians are looked at in this light, but its true. 90% of this new wave of immigrants on “student visas,” dont intend to actually obtain any sort of an education, instead they use it as a pathway for permanent residency. I know this because I have relatives who say this out loud behind closed doors. I don’t agree with any of it, and quite frankly it’s very embarrassing, but most of us first generation Indian Canadians feel very upset about how its all played out and the negative light in which our people are now viewed under. Personally, I agree they arent interested in becoming culturally Canadian, they just want to be in Canada for financial reasons. They stay in their groups, dont integrate and think somehow this will play out well. It isnt discrimination when your own people also feel this way. I have yet to meet a first gen Canadian who disagrees

Canada doesn't have a culture to assimilate to anymore though. It was known for its casual hockey and Canadian accent but both are nearly extinct. It's The Library of Babel up in here. I’m a second gen Indian in Canada born in USA. It’s become so us vs them between locals and immigrants, that Im caught in the middle, I belong no where and everywhere. There’s no room for my voice, because I’m no different then any Canadian or American in how I act but nothing separates me from Punjab and Kashmir other than accident of birth and one generation. My English is NE United States, my French Québécois, my Hindi Dehli,Punjabi Jalandar, Urdu Lahori, and Turkish Ankara. I speak six languages and I’m fluent in none, I’m from three countries yet none of them want me. It would be great if more of these types of investigations included our voices, as we’re neither here nor there yet caught in the middle of all of this.

What is the national Canadian language? English. Can you speak Punjabi or Hindi? Can you even speak more than 15 words of it? Probably not. I can't, and i shouldn't need to. In Canada the language is always an always has been English or French. Yet all the signs i see you put up in your businesses are written in Hindi or Punjabi. I have never seen a Indian owned business with English signs. Do you expect me to just learn your language to accustom you to living in my country? I'm not doing that, and I'm sure nobody else will want to either. If you come here, you need to get yourself adjusted to how we live and learn our language. Indians have been in Canada for a very long time. Many came from Punjabi closer to colonial times. The racism in the comments is inexcusable. I know it's not on most people's radar, but what is a huge problem that no one talks enough about is how when so many temporary foreign workers come here, they make money in Canadian dollars and then send that money out of our economy to their home Country. So our Canadian dollars are sold, and isn't spent in our Economy. When you go somewhere and you don't see any born in Canada employees you really need to make a choice to not support that business. Canadian wages should go to Canadians and spent in our economy. I hope we wise up and we start to really limit how many people we bring into the Country. We're literally bringing in 400K+ people that's about the size of Halifax, EVERY year. We just cannot support this rapid growth. Especially when the people coming in have no intention of integrating and do not share our values.

This is what gets me, I’m an immigrant. I came from a place where we speak a broken dialect of English. As part of my processing, I had to demonstrate my ability to speak the queen’s english. To work, the expectation is you’re able to communicate effectively with whoever you’re interfacing. These folks come here, make zero attempt to improve or learn English or French - the national languages. They go home after the day is done, revert to their native tongue. How would you ever perfect something like a language without some degree practice and immersion? And they do this with their generations. The 1st and sometimes 2nd generation kids will speak their native tongue first, before learning English or French. It’s like the language they should speak to effectively work and live in Canada is an accessory. The govt at all levels encourage this by having driving tests and forms in other languages. And don’t get me started on the pockets - Brampton for example. The politicians kowtow to the voters and give in to them having huge temples, and nonstandard shopping complexes. It’s a running joke how many Indians will be living in the same house, renting from other Indians collecting money under the table in completely unsanctioned and illegal rental scenarios. Thank you for documenting this bro… seeing Brampton turn to the hellhole “Bramladesh” (nickname we call it) has been incredibly sad, I use to go to Bramladesh to watch Brampton Battalion (OHL Hockey) games and the city was a great blue collar town to spend time in… ever since the Indian invasion I almost never go, seeing people defaecate and urinate frequently in public, the abhorrent driving, the dirtiness, & the incredible rudeness of the Indian population has made me not visit in yrs now. It’s getting worse in other areas like Niagara as well, where the same problem is occurring. What kills me is that if anyone who’s white speaks up about this the pathetic liberals instantly call you a “bigot” or a “Racist” for simply stating facts and expressing how MANY of us are feeling. A vast majority of Canadians had NO problem with the initial influx of Indians moving here in the early 2000’s they came over we’re very respectful, assimilated, became Canadians, & respected Canada and Canadians… this last 15 yrs has been the exact opposite.

I am a Canadian and I am absolutely sick and tired of these Indians, I’m married at 22 with a child on the way and buying a house seems like an impossible task because all these Indians are literally being given free houses from the government send all of them back to there so called paradise and never let them come back. I want Canadians in Canada and that’s it. They are not a net positive, they’re a net negative and it’s clear as day.

As a non Indian Canadian born and raised I’m disgusted where my country has gone. Our population has doubled since 1980, not by birth rate, but because of the amount of Indians that have immigrated here. Unfortunately, they have no desire to assimilate, they bring their own culture and they stay in their own communities. The government offers tax breaks for businesses, hiring foreign workers over people born in Canada, leaving the youth without any part-time work. On top of that some of my favourite restaurants growing up, I haven’t eaten at in years because it’s been taken over by Indians, the quality of food goes down, you end up getting food poisoning and if you aren’t in their community, you get worse service and get charged more than what an Indian would pay at the same restaurant. They don’t understand cleanliness or sanitation, they leave their garbage and waste on the street and dump it in random locations, and quite frankly have no respect for anyone who lives here or the country that has taken them in. I feel like a minority of my own country and I truly don’t understand what being Canadian means anymore because I’m pretty sure being Canadian is a thing of the past. Most of my friends have moved further north, to Vancouver island or moved out to the prairies to get away from them and higher prices as everything gets more expensive, thanks to our government, caring more about immigrants than citizens. When a family gets accepted to come here they bring their parents their aunts and uncles their brothers and sisters on temporary visas, they also collect social assistance as soon as they arrive and when their visas expire, they have no desire to go back, which has resulted in thousands of illegals remaining here. I mean I get it. Why would you go back when you’re getting treated better here and are given food, housing and an allowance every month but it’s gotten to a point where India outnumbers Canadians. I want them all sent back.

Canadian companies would rather use the program than hire local Canadian workers or young workers who are looking for there first job opportunity and gain experience. I respect immigrants who come to Canada, contribute to the community and economy and are willing to leave their culture in the past and adapt to our culture and language. I don’t respect immigrants who refuse to adapt to our language and culture. You’re in Canada, it’s either English and French, stop speaking Punjabi everywhere because we all can’t stand it, especially in businesses. Canada has a major immigration problem at this point. First of all, Tyler is a hardworking journalist and I respect that, however a lot of this video was wildly ignorant, from almost everyone involved, including from him. This is cheap views unfortunately. It paints a very bad perspective for all the genuinely hardworking citizens and residents of Indian origins, why not show that side of them too? There’s obviously actual students who come to study and provide for the community while also maintaining their own culture? What’s wrong with that? Besides, what is a Canadian culture if not a mix of immigrants from all around the world? Are white people also not just immigrants to this country or did they magically spawn in this place? They’ve committed ATROCITIES (not just in Canada), yet have the audacity to act like they’re the cleanest ones in the land. While I do agree some Indians do not improve the reputation, most are really kind, helpful and honest people. Perhaps treat everyone like humans for a change instead of using the bad ones as a benchmark. PS, cutting to the ugly streets when someone mentions Punjab is probably the cheapest attention grab, obviously there’s bad streets, ugly roads, gross people everywhere but so are beautiful ones, lovely countryside views, beautiful mountains and most of all, very hardworking and respectful people as well. Yeah as a Canadian who lives in the Greater Toronto Area, I can appreciate how immigration as a concept is good. But Canada is at a point now where a large influx of immigrants are shocking our economy and dropping our quality of life. And the majority of these immigrants come from one country. No hate to India, as a half Indian myself, but when you bring these people over in droves, they feel it unnecessary to assimilate as they all coalesce with each other - where they feel comfortable. So you have the majority of them who don't speak our language, who don't carry our values, and don't feel that any of it is required. And it makes you feel, as a Canadian like you're being taken over. We want a lower immigration rate, and we want a greater spread of people from across the world. I don't want Canada to become India.
