I was born and raised in Canada and left 30 years ago. I went to Vancouver about 10 years ago to visit family and I also found it ugly. The big glass buildings looked so dirty and outdated. It felt like an old outdated logging town. Like most Canadians, I used to be proud of the medical system but now I've realized it doesn't cure people it just keeps the citizens sick. Everyone I know there is sick and they are all proud of how many operations they've had and how many pills they take. I remember paying 30% in taxes as a University student with a part-time job. It just wasn't fair. The last straw was when I saw how the Trudeau government responded during covid. They hijacking the news stations and brainwashed the citizens. And then, they froze bank accounts of those who dared to protest or even support protesters. I lost a lot of respect for people there who I thought were intelligent and It made me realize how that place turns people into drones. Now I'm ashamed to be Canadian. Most Canadians live in a bubble and think it's the best country in the world but that's because they don't know what it's like to live. Good for you for leaving. I wish you all the best.

I left Canada years ago and haven't looked back - the taxation is over the top! Not to mention the simple joy of going out to eat/drink, then you need to add taxes (3 of them!) + tip! The heathcare system is also a bit of a false economy - long wait times for doctors, emerg etc. The weather during the winteris challenging. Not even mentioning Trudeau.. nice to see the reality being shown. Well done.

Canada has sky high immigration because it is a failed state, the population was declining. Immigration is basically all that is keeping the country from imploding. They will let in anyone because they are desperate to keep the tax base growing. The landmass itself is gorgeous, but the quality of life continues to deteriorate by the day. The country is run the by Royal Family, Trudeau is just a stooge people elect to grovel to the Queen and her son, he has no power. They are confused environmentalists, they want to grow their tax base and keep the country from imploding, meanwhile they want to use as little land as possible to do it. So you get stacked and packed into a condo and get worked nonstop and taxed so hard you can never accumulate enough savings to stop working. The whole country is a slave colony really. I'm leaving Canada shortly, I don't recommend it as a long term place to live, no one is really happy here.

Oh i forgot to ask. Are you aware that the middle class in Canada is richer than the US? Although Trudeau politics hit that class pretty hard

I was born in this country and I agree with everything these young ladies were saying. I don’t have any roots in any other country but it’s been on my mind often about leaving this country for these very same reasons. In addition, this Trudeau government is just horrible and I don’t recognize Canada anymore.

First of all I'm guessing you are in Toronto or Vancouver or Calgary maybe Montreal, The most expensive places in Canada to Live for sure. I live in Manitoba where the cost of living is pretty close to the cheapest in Canada. Yes minimum wage is $11.95 and apparently going up shortly. Free health care you mentioned waiting 8 hours in emergency but you failed to mention if you need to see a specialist your talking months and you'll probably die first. I love Quebec, its history, its culture, its language, its way of life and Quebecers in general. I get used to its climate, its six months or so of winter, but still with nice, hot summers. I also put up with the high cost of living due to the multiple taxes to be paid, the highest in North America, which means that, paradoxically, it still costs less to live here than elsewhere in Canada and to the social safety net Quebecers benefit and which is the envy of many citizens elsewhere in the country. The shadow on the board: the hostility and racism of English Canada, including most Anglophones in Quebec and the allophones who join this recalcitrant community towards Quebec and Francophones in general, the ambient wokism, the complacency of the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, who has transformed the city into a huge bike path, Justin Trudeau's hypocrisy regarding Quebec legislation for the protection of language and secularism, which he intends to challenge before the Supreme Court of the country . I don't know much about Canada (except that Trudeau is evil), but I do know that automobile insurance is really, reeeeeally expensive. I bought a car from a Canadian. It was in storage and he had to re-insure it to drive it to the border (Customs) for me. One day: C$60.

Canada is NOT a good country to live in. \nThe last 30+ years between the constant increases in taxation. The criminally high cost of housing, high cost of commodities, i.e. food, clothing, fuel, utilities, and since we are now suffering from the ineptitude of Justin trudeau, more and more canadians are looking to leave the country, myself included, for the sake of our financial wellbeing, our peace of mind, and reprieve from the seemingly endless cycle of hurry up and wait for healthcare needs, personal matters, and dealing with multi tiered, multi layered government regulations for nearly everything. I personally have contacted consulates general of 12 different nations from the EU to the pan Asian region as well as the US, and will not be living in Canada by summers end 2022. If someone is considering coming to Canada, especially recently, consider this..... The cost of living is high, the cost to buy a house is out of reach for many Canadians, taxes are many and high, government regulations are many, the present Liberal Trudeau government is not Liberal but it is a fascist/authoritarian government, many police are brutal and arrest and imprison people for protesting peacefully, they have fined, arrested and imprisoned Pastors for conducting church service and feeding the homeless, the Canadian dollar is low with less buying power, inflation is high, there has never been such high government debt, the government can order the banks to freeze your money, it is cold, opportunity is not that available, racial discrimination is here and by the government (i am Caucasian), the country is in such debt that we can go broke and the dollar further devalued. Corrupt money laundering is almost accepted by officials. There are better countries to immigrate than to Canada.

Both my parents immigrated from Europe so I can relate to many of the comments.\nSo, what I see is that Canada is a country of mostly heavy industry which often requires people to live in rural, remote, isolated communities. Canada is a big country so transportation is a significant part of it's economic foundation. Most people do not come here wanting to live up north or drive a commercial truck. They want to live in a big city and have a professional job.\nClearly the government has done a poor job of conveying what is needed (Trudeau is pretty clueless to be honest).\nIf you want to be in demand go rural and go north.
