Lived in Canada for 23 years. Immigrated to Vancouver as a child with no choice. So I have seen the trend from the very beginning. This country to going towards a horrible place. Extremely corrupt and socialist. Getting immediate quick help in life-threatening situations isn't always the case either. And the attention in hospitals in Canada aren't always that great. My daughter is born in Bolivia where me and my wife are born and grown up . Later we had a son born in Canada, I was really really disappointed we got no better care as we did in the hospital. And comparing our daughter born in Bolivia was premature by C-section and costed beauty over 2000 USD , our son was C-section in Canada costing 18000 CA$ . Based on the attention gotten in both places I had no doubt left of where I'd choose to have the next child .

Yeah fuck this list, putting backwards Alberta and Quebec at the top while putting Manitoba at the bottom. Fuck this shit, while jobless Atlantic Canada gets an the credit Manitoba actually has the jobs and culture for real and is just coolest, but wait we have plenty of energy and construction to deal with that problem. I understand the list until b.c, alberta ontario and b.c should be all switched, alberta should be in the spot of British columbia because look at the economy, Albertas economy crashed and people are losing money because house values have went down and the cold is insane.The province otherwise is amazing.Ontario should be 2 and Quebec should stay at 1.For the people thinking Ontario should be 1 Quebecs technology and skill is ahead of canada because Quebecs lifestyle is similar to European lifestyle.I have been to Quebec this summer and understand why he put it number 1 but as a resident of Ontario and comparison to all provinces it shouldve been number 2 but thats just my opinion.

As a Canadian in Toronto, surrounded by a vast diverse community, I full understand that professionals, such as doctors, lawyers and engineers arrive here to find that their education credentials do not meet Canadian standards. They are subjected to the need to upgrade education and experience to be certified for that profession. What I do not understand is why, a doctor for example, ends up driving a cab, working in the fast food industry or another minimum wage job. If they are a certified and experienced physicians one would think that their skill would at least allow them to be a very valuable asset to Canadaa as a PSW (Personal Care Worker), laboratory technician or in a nursing environment.  A PSW, a lab tech or a nurse is going to earn two to four times more than a taxi driver and allow them to afford to upgrade their skills to receive their full professional certification.  Canada may be wasting a very valuable asset.

I live in Quebec. If this is #1, I gotta get the fuck out of Canada.

Lots of experience with Canada. With the exception of Montreal, yes; Canadians are genuinely *that* friendly. Just avoid the topic of how their favorite ice hockey team compares with others.

Canada has a very high cost of living. In Toronto or Vancouver,$1800/month rent for an average apartment, houses are at least $750,000 in a decent area. Cellphone and internet rates are among highest in world. Groceries and alcohol are expensive compared to US and UK. Extreme cold weather 5 months a year even in southern cities like Toronto. Spotty transit service compared to European and Asian cities. Much of the country is undeveloped because of extreme weather. Most Canadians live within 60 miles of the USA border. \n \nAdvantages of Canada : it is reasonably rich and technologically advanced. Free and democratic although not like the USA. Lots of open space outside large cities. And very quiet , peaceful but uneventful country.

USA is a better country than Canada when it comes to job opportunities/businesses. My uncle, who is a chef, moved to Toronto and was struggling to find a job that would pay him well enough. He then moved to NY state and within one year he was able to open his own restaurant. His finance has increased by leaps and bounds and now he runs three restaurants and already became a US citizen. Immigration might be easier in Canada, but if you get a chance to work and live in the US, you'll reap much bigger rewards for the efforts you're willing to put there.
