The reality is USA and CANADA is turning into a Third World country. The problem is, most people that live in those country have not accepted it yet.

This is going on in the US, too (and probably all over the developed world). We are a divided society. There has been a decline in trust of social institutions, which makes problem-solving more difficult.

Why u ask? Seriously?\n\nMaybe because of the severe problems of a diverse society, especially if it gets migration from the most archaic parts of the world?

Uncontrolled immigration is a problem everywhere in the western world. I live in the US, supposedly one of the best, and had to fight for a long time to get into my apartment. Ignoring legal immigrants, did you know that the US government creates programs where illegal immigrants get free housing?

Please mention the particular community that's causing the problem. It's the same that's creating havoc around the World, in every democracy.

Whole world seems to know English. Germany should make English as a co working language. It will help people who are immigrants and solve the skilled workers problem.

Honestly, who cares? We have bigger problems with immigration mainly of international students who are making a mockery of the system. The ones who can read and write in English or French are fine. The problem lies within those from some regions of the world where they cheat the English testing requirments to get into school.

There are more people everywhere in the world and there are more problems. People move to places that are affluent.

All of the leftist political parties in all Western democracies have increased massive immigration exclusively, from 3rd World pagan cultures, such as China, India, Africa, the Middle East and Haiti, in order to soften the influence of Western culture and try to lock in the left-wing vote. They think that this will ensure that the left will always be able to stay in power. I have witnessed this in Austria, Germany, England, the United States and of course Canada. If anyone has a problem with this invasion, they will be labelled racist. Pierre Trudeau said that we must protect our French culture and so he rammed the bilingual policies down our throats, way back in 1970 or so. Today when you drive along Steeles Ave, along the southern edge of Markham, you will see only Chinese light boxes and 3d signage adorning all of the super malls there. No English and no French. The real goal of diversity is to erase Western culture which, was one of Karl Marx's wishes.

This is great Canada. I'm so happy you are finally stopping the influx of usage to the Canadian citizens. These people coming into our countries must fight in their own countries to fix their own problems instead of using us all. The world is now over populated. We don't need more polluting, drawing, destroying, and over breeding.

I wished to move to Canada 12 years ago. I am American. I was told that I needed a job and that job NEEDED to be filled. This would allow me to move there. I didn't move. Now with the migration crisis, too many immigrants at one time will overload the system and overpopulate a country. I fear with the climate crisis constantly reshaping our futures, that immigration will be an ongoing problem for the entire world. I believe countries must plan for even more immigration waves due to climate change. The Earth is changing...people will be moving to save their lives, to have a future. As human beings we must adapt to these pressures and changes in our planet. Make it livable, or else face the consequences of seeing millions of people die because you were unwilling to open your borders. There is room, just get rid of the greed. This planet , its peoples,must find ways to live together. Education, to keep the planet healthy, stop overpopulation, keep the air and water clean...stop the greed are the goals we must strive to follow.

Its happening all over the world. the UK is currently having riots because of this very problem and also religion differences.. its tragic. perhapes everyone needs to stay in intheir own countries and fight like Zapata did for mexico not run away from it

The condos being built for PROFIT are the problem. These are not meant for lifetime Renters who are low income. Also, Blackface Trudeau DID THIS??. Instead of training OUR YOUTH and INVESTING in our youth. Canada has created a new version of poverty in Canada that is very similar to a 3rd world by flooding the country with 3rd mentality.

Canada doesn't need anymore people from india or alike. If Canada was allowing people in from countries with similar values and beliefs then it wouldn't be an issue. It's going to take a violent revolution to solve this problem. All the established political parties here are all the same and are controlled by billionaires with a twisted vision of what they want the world to look like.

Immigration will always be a problem. As soon human realize the world was suppose to borderless and we create a system that we can function harmoniously in a borderless society maybe then we can begin to tackle this system that divides us humans. We will begin to use the word people / human beings more often instead of immigrants .

It is not the immigration policy problem.. It is the quality of people who are being considered for immigration (based only money now a days unlike in the past). In the 70s & 80s it is Ph.Ds, Highly technically qualified people around the world who were given Immigrant visas/citizenship... But these days, all junkies from war torn nations, third world criminals and their children (with money) getting into Canadian universities. Earlier, Universities used to conduct exams at off shore centres and select candidates but now a days it looks like Universities are bankrupt and ready to take in anybody with money thanks to agents of these education institutes( These agents make even a Donkey with money Qualify for university admission !) Those who get into these universities are more interested in all other things except Studies....So Quality immigration is more important than Quantity imigratikn. Hope Canadian Govt will take a critical look into this aspect. We xan not see developed cojntries having this anarchy on the streets on a daily basis.

The lack of public services being expanded in the 80's and 90's was based on a certain amount of immigration per year. They did not predict the steep rise in people moving to the western world. \nWhilst the Guardian is pro immigration, can they not see that in the UK, USA, Ireland, Canada and other EU countries, too much immigration is bad? Ridiculous, 2nd biggest country in the fkin world and it has population problems. Is it the immigrants' fault? Or something else behind this? I'm an immigrant from Vietnam. Am I part of the problem? I've worked my ass off in this country, paid insane amounts of taxes. Do I not deserve a place? I came here alone, not with a village. But some people are doing that and causing major damage. And I get bunched up with them and have to suffer the problems I did not cause.

Overpopulation overpopulation overpopulation makes every problem on the planet impossible to solve. We need every government in the world to have policies that encourage people to have 2 or fewer children. As the population stabilises and slowly reduces rents will be more affordable, unemployment will be reduced, pollution causing climate change will reduce, loss of animal habitat and species extinction will stop, happiness and health will increase for everyone.

Stop letting in so many people, or start the largest series of construction Canada and possibly the world has ever seen. Policies are the problem, not immigration. Most people in Dubai are foreigners, and at least half of the people you see in Singapore are not Singaporeans, yet their crime rates are among the lowest in the world! Because they have harsh punishments for crimes!

No one can afford housing in the Western world anymore. We're not the world's police, this isn't our problem. We need to look inward and tackle our domestic issues before we can even think of tackling the world's problems.

Most people in Canada do like immigrants and try and want to accept newcomers . I am happy to see new faces younger people, people with a different outlook. However this lack of housing is a major problem for poor and lower middle class people - citizens and noncitizens. Unfortunately rents are a racket in most cities, the real estate business is full of unnumbered accounts and money laundering; Canada is full of organized crime from all over the world, we cant control foreign attempts at killing our citizen. So we can tell our government is not efficient and is doing a poor jobHowever I dont think the average immigrant is the problem and I feel they are treated like rubes by our government and taken advantage of and so are Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds who also suffer the same problems of many immigrants. That's the truth. Letting people in with out providing opportunities for jobs, housing, support is foolish and destructive to our country. Our politicians are selling us down the drain-i.e. all those who are not in the upper middle class or the elites. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! VOTE FOR CHANGE !

I like multiculturalism and this country is founded on immigration. But we need to put cap on each country when receiving them so to maintain the balance of good mix.\n\nI get bothered why this guy statistically divide white vs others. In the end this land belongs to the indigenous people none of us. \n\nAnyways, most of my friends from Western Europe, Japan, Korea and Singapore - first world nations, have already moved back after couple of years of living here. Look at Gardiner- it's constantly on construction mode. Hire more surgeons and make better family doctor system. This government only legalized marijuana and brought more problems. We used to live near Trinity bellwood and the park is now filled with used needles. \n\nAs for homelessness, it's always been there and it got worse during economic depression (2008 mortgage crisis) and current prime rate/inflation situation. Even if you study stats from government subsidized housing, most immigrants work and get out of help but the old immigrants (whites) usually don't flip out of the situation for generations. So there is no reason to tie and blame the Indians for our old problem of homeless population. Stay on point and stop tying it down with non-related issues.

The problem of immigration is everywhere in the Western world, and the anti-immigration sentiment is just a normal and healthy reaction. \nThis massive immigration influx pushes the increase in prices of housing to mad levels, and it's just a matter of time that the entire population realises about it.\nHere in Spain it is already unsustainable, crazy prices, no rent units available. Zero-net population growth or very slow growth is desirable for a host of reasons. Immigration is not inherently a virtue. Not inherently a vice either. Its value depends entirely upon the context in which it is taking place. Here are some reasons why Canada should reduce immigration to achieve eventual zero-net population growth.\n\n(1) The ecology: Canada is possibly the world's worst country per capita in producing waste – certainly among the worst. The result: ever-inflating housing costs. Rich immigrants compound the problem. \n\n(3) Suburbanization: most of the new housing in Canada is in highway suburbs (over 80%), with their car-driven way of life. Once again, this is bad for the country’s ecological health. In addition, the result will be ever-growing geographies of nowhere. We will not be creating more Victorias or Quebec Cities. We will be creating more Surreys. \n\n(4) Downward pressure on the incomes of most people: the law of supply and demand is very simple: when there is a surplus of any commodity, that commodity becomes cheaper. When a commodity is scarce, its value rises. Labor is a commodity. Workers rightly do not want there to be a surplus of labor. Their livelihoods are threatened. \n\n(5) Future care of the old: the more people we add now, the more people we will have to take care of later, when their working lives are done. Adding immigrants now to pay for the care of the old is therefore a pyramid scheme. Eventually, in a generation or two, the population of the world is set to decline, and the well of immigrants will run dry. Canada should aim for fewer, rather than more, retirees – as preparation for that coming moment.

This is occurring on purpose. New World Order is all about dissolving nation states. The UN is shipping hundreds of thousands of African and Middle Easterners to small US towns. Who provides for their living costs??? The Southern border is only the obvious part of the problem.

Properties owners stop working and start relying on the rental incomes and as we know the post covid19 economic situations of the whole world is so bad so with those rental incomes Canadians properties owners couldn't make their living anymore the way they where living comfortably before covid19 so they start blackmailing their government and blaming new immigrants. sometimes people rent out their properties and living in the shelters near to their properties. Only solution of their problems is either sale their expensive properties or start working hard not only rely on the rental incomes no matter what you are engineers lawyers doctors realtors etc. .....work work and work hard friends.

People are fighting each other without realizing that the real problem has always been the growing capital accumulation since the 1960s, which has led first-world countries to face this issue nowadays. Most politicians don't want people to stand up against the wealthy, better to have an easy target than to face the actual problem.\n Eat the rich!

India is overpopulated and the Western world can not sustain these global issues. India needs to take better care of their problems.
