Trump is a moron. He says things without any proof or facts or details. How is China ripping us off? We use them for cheap high tech labor to make our products and then American businesses profit off of them by selling the products to the u.s consumers for a huge profit. And even then we still pay a very reasonable price compared to if the product was made in the USA.

The fun part will come when Mexico and Canada turn to China to fill the opening in trade and just X the US out of the entire convo. Then we’re truly fucked.

It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

It's a problem and the only way to not see it as one is to remove your head.\n\nI'm down to seeing whatever measures needed to get rid of all if not most illegal aliens. The Democrats have been wrong at every step on this issue and have done but incentives people to come at great peril (Democrats are the ones if who have treated these poor people as political pawns).\n\nThey are also WRONG about it being geopolitical issue in South America. Most people entering the US illegally have not even been from Central or South America (if they are from Mexico they don't even get let in). But from China, Turkey, Ukraine, Pakistan, (not exactly countries that loves us).\n\nThese people have to make it through the Darien Gap and then fend off cartels from ripping them off. I also want to see Trump go after people who helped these illegals get here–not just cartels.

It won't stop with the illegals. A mass round up and deportation is just phase 1 of Trumps plan. He will go after legal immigrants in phase 2. Mass deportation and the 60% tariff of anything from China (which is 90% of all goods sold in America) and 20% on everything ( food, oil, etc) will crash the economy and send us into a recession. I was in Taiwan recently. Ironically the Taiwanese mostly all dream of coming to Canada or the States, thinking it's like it was in 1991. Someone can have my spot; I'm leaving. Earned more money in both China and US than in Canada, plus cost of living was a tiny fraction in China vs Canada. Could eat out every day, never cooked, comfortably traveled abroad once a month, saved more than 50% my net income each month. In Canada can't even cover basics with my Canadian income, have to tap into savings I earned abroad for basic monthly expenses. I don't know what kind of life and jobs and living conditions these people who like Canada had before coming but for me this is a gigantic downgrade in quality of life and purchasing power.

I immigrated to Canada about 10 years ago, and I've done better than the US where I came from. It still is the case, as I go back to visit family in the US regularly and the job prospects are grim, the pensions are even less secure, and union membership is even starker than here. Precarious work is the norm in western nations, and its often worse than in Canada. As a dual citizen, I could choose to get up and move tomorrow, but I'll never return to the US as there is worse places to live than Canada... But I did have a long journey to find stable employment, so I realize Canada isn't perfect. Have you thought about ending work as a content creator on YouTube and doing something that might be more productive or fulfilling? It might be a start to a better future. It may even be better than moving to a different country that would have the same or worse problems.

Why are there so many hatred towards Asians immigration suddenly in Canada, as in the US, Britain, Europe, Australia etc ?\nAfter all, these countries due to their lack of highly qualified professionals have to resort to immigration to keep up pace with the advances and modernisation to compete with the like of China and other Southeast developed countries. It appears that the huge increase of immigrants to Canada came at the expense of poor screening process by Immigration Canada. It is true that you can't demand higher education for people you expect to perform menial jobs, but no one wants these jobs especially in a country with such high living costs, and such poor outlook of social advancement. Every society on earth have a lower social segment of uneducated and poor individuals. Unfortunately a portion of these lower class Indians landed in Canada, and aren't contributing to their new country, or to India itself. As usual, they generally are single young males; a similar situation can be appreciated in Europe with Muslim and African individuals. I can't say how many times I've received calls or e-mails from scammers from India, Pakistan, Russia, Nigeria, and China. We, in the West as common citizens, are the targets of criminals around the world trying to exploit us. If landed immigrants aren't of any positive influence to Canada, they should be denied citizenship and expelled from the country.

Please make sure you highlight on how China has retained it's Culture and identity which the Indians lack, we have an identity crisis too. Most of Chinese students would apply to top tier university and majors only, if they didn't got in they switch to other countries like AU or UK, US or just go back to china. However a lot of indians doesn't care about the college rating or even major, they just came here to work anyway.
