There is no place for weapon in any educational institution

No one should all to carry weapons in education places ..he deserves it ...

It's against the rule to bring the kirpan in educational institutions.

I am an Indian and even I will not support this. Religion should be followed in homes and not in institutions like colleges. The educational institution can have its own rules. Incidents of rage can happen at any time and can not be predicted.

They didn’t apologize they said you cannot have knives on campus and that they would like to have a dialog about safety on campus and education on those beliefs. You will still be unable to wear a knife around your neck on a school campus

I don't want to say any word on this stupidity ? one question ,, school and college are for education there is one specific dress code for all children, and everyone should follow the rules of schl and clg,so why we involve our religion as a hindu I oppose this?pls stop this nonsense, if this is right so why we are against the hijab in indian school and clg ?? If all religions start following their culture and rituals in colleges then from tomorrow a hindu will start wearing dhoti kurta,sari, rudarkhs, mushlim will wear hijab, kurta lungi ??so pls stop this nonsense ???

If you want to wear this, wear it inside your clothes. This is not about education, this is behaving as per the situation.

I don't understand why people bring all this religious sentiments to educational institutions.. \nPut all ur sentiments,faiths, believes outside the university.

I speak for myself and not on behalf of anyone.\n\nFirstly, in any such situation be it any religion, caste etc, before reacting, imagine if this was happening to your own son/daughter, your own brother/sister. \n\nSecondly what faith one chooses to practice and how they embrace it, be it wearing a kirpan, a burqa, or keeping a shika(choti), etc, especially opinions like what one can or cannot wear/do, lead to more harm than good. We don't live there, it's not our religion, it's not our life, then who are we to condemn and be opinionated about them.\n\nThirdly, whether the kirpan should be allowed inside an educational campus can only be determined by the campus authorities, the local police and the Sikh community representatives there.\n\nYes, he could have and should have worn it on the inside just like so many Brahmins wear the sacred white thread (yajnopavita).\n\nHe could have taken prior permission from the college authorities to freely wear it if possible and all this could have been avoided. Maybe he doesn't get the permission to wear it, who knows, there are countless possibilities.\n\nAnd lastly, I've come across so many comments labelling the Sikhs as Khalistanis, then if there's some other incident, commenting that people of so and so faith are terrorists, etc.\n\nBy all means, please call us Khalistanis, please call us terrorists, call us anything you like, but we'll continue to respect and love everyone.\n\nIt's a shame that our Jawaans are dying on the border fighting for their country, fighting for our country, fighting for us and we are creating divisions amongst ourselves. Petty name calling and what not.\n\nWe are Indians first, any Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, or Parsi...Indian getting harassed is my brother/sister getting harassed. Their loss is our loss.\n\nPS: If I have offended anyone, my apologies.

If people in India are opposing Hijaab in educational institutions then why are these same people supporting wearing Kripan . We respect every culture but these practices should be strictly prohibited from educational institutions

Nice Job by Police or security officer. In America many Students had died due to arms related violence. No one should be allowed to enter educational institutions with any kind of Arms. The kirpan is supposed to be a weapon of defence only. But how could Police officers knows about it with first encounter to it. So, Police officer has done a preventive measure. If we respect kirpan then we should respect the Police officer who has done his duty to protect all students including the person who wears the kripan.\n\nBy the way, why that student or the person wears the kripan inside a educational institutions.

Well Educational institutions are supposed to be impartial towards religions so don't carry that kirpan in schools or colleges ?‍♂️ After all they are foreigners if they see a knife it's a knife . They won't see it as kirpan (sikh knife)
