The fact is the US has the highest inequality among wealthy nations. And the worst health care, they place 20 out of 20 in the OECD. So wages and getting rich I disagree with, and cost of goods are on par....however housing is still cheaper and that is a big one. \n\nDue to the massive immigration we are experiencing here (too fast imo) it plays a big factor in health care degradation and wait times etc. The government was slow to respond to the fact when you add 300 000 people a year to Ontario it will require more health care providers. \n\nAnd don't forget it was the taxes my ancestors paid that provided the buildings you now enter for health and school etc. It seems that is seldom thought of by new comers. I live in the UK which is 6 hours to Ivory Coast. I fell very homesick. We all face the same cost of living and practically impossible to save. I can hardly cope living in Canada which twice the distance of travelling from here to Abidjan. Do not forget the high cost of getting a ticket to travel. I don't know why people complain about taxes and all these deductions on incomre....every country has taxes. It's just that it's easy to avoid taxes in some countries than it is in Canada. So you never feel the bite.. In my country, we pay 30% income tax, 18% VAT, 5% NSSF(The rest is paid by the employer), 12% internet duties etc etc..... I can list a lot. ...What saves us in my country is that food is relatively cheap, otherwise taxes are everywhere

How is the income tax percentage determined in Canada?

All the problems explained are true but they are here for a reason. It can sound cruel to make a doctor take an extra 4 years of school but you have to understand that the diploma they got in their home country is not equivelent to the quality of a canadian one. Hell, in Cambodia, you can pay 100 000K and you are a certified doctor, that can't fly in Canada.

The depression you get in the winter is so bad that it affects you physically, mentally and spiritually. Canada has changed for the worst over the years. It no longer is a paradise for the poor immigrants. Heavy Taxation, bad healthcare system, corrupt government, extreme weather condition, high cost of living, boring, work and life imbalance, discrimination, traffic and the list goes on. There are still few good things left though. We are happy to be leaving soon.?

At the end of the day Canada rates among the first 5 best countries to live in in terms of security, safety for everyone, acceptance regardless of race (comparatively), lesser drugs and violence issues (public gun attacks, high drugs issues). I got my Canada study visa with 4 years gap after 12th for sep 2022 intake (ppr july 2022) applied april through sds(ielts 7).I had 4 years gap between my 12th and bachelors.I got a work experience from a reputed IT company which I paid some money for and they provided me with 10 documents for work experience (joining letter,salory slips,exp letter..etc).I justified my work experience in my SOP and got the visa.Cheers guys you all can come to canada.

I was born in South Asia, studied and worked in uk for 5 years. Immigrated to canada and stayed for 8 years and am currently in Hong Kong for some family reasons over the last two years in covid. What I can tell is there is no place like canada in the whole world. It’s heaven on earth. I get it that you can earn a lot of money outside canada , but you cannot get peace of mind and tranquility as you would het in canada. I miss canada every day and would be going back soon.
