As a child of European immigrants, I'm entitled to EU citizenship by descent. But it's a bureaucratic nightmare and involves spending thousands on lawyers. I never had a compelling reason to bother with that, but with the complete insanity of housing costs in Canada in the last decade I'm seriously considering it. This country is developing serious issues and no political party has the stones to do anything about it.

Americans think they want to live in the US. They are moving to Canada lol

The problem with Canada's economy is that it is an immigration/housing construction ponzi scheme where infrastructure never catches up and quality of life per capita declines.

Friend, I hope you haven’t left. I think you’re making a terrible mistake. I’ve lived in Calgary for 29 years. Our stats people are tricky. You will not find a house in Calgary for under $600k. Unless you plan to live in a very impoverished, run-down, and dangerous area. In a “good” suburb, not great, you’re looking at $686K - $749K. Most are now selling between $812K - $1M. I’m sorry my friend, those stats are a mirage. They blend in cheap apartments in Edmonton into those stats. For petroleum engineering, congrats for finishing those studies, but it’s been a long-standing political battle in Canada; Albert vs. Ontario on this issue. The current liberal government is openly trying to destroy the industry you’re in and you will struggle immensely to find work.

Part of the reason why US companies take more risks than Canada is that if theyre big enough theyre smart and integrate across the country, getting governments to bail them out in financial crises. The Canadian government just doesnt have the cash flow to match the mighty US economy.

What's happened to canada is what is happening to all countries with woke leadership. We have made wedge issues a priority despite the fact they don't tangibly matter. Resources go into absolute nothing of value. We declared a climate emergency despite being less than 1% of global emissions. This has caused us to literally turn down lucrative LNG contracts that would have reduced the emissions of coal burning nations by 50%. It has made us insane. We sold all our gold and are printing money while expecting the entire middle class to bear the burden of this money printing. Billions have to Ukraine and nobody even knows why.

Agree with everything but only half agree on covid #6. I agree canada was extreme but so was all of europe, especially the south. Only sweden used common sense.

Trudeau has permanently ruined Canada.

Thank you for the review.\nPlease, I'll like to know what I can do to move from UK to Canada

This was quite informative and you guys are definitely intelligent. I am definitely concerned about having more liberals in Canada. In my opinion Liberals are the Antichrist

Your scores don’t tally, why will I struggle for the job and harsh weather? The dollar is poor, I don't like Canada. I think is just for people looking for passport but when you get your British passport and settled on immigration, Uk is far better.

Long story short living in Canada sucks. If you ain’t rich you are scrapping for change.

This is so relatable. I was earning 60k CAD in Vancouver, living in an one bedroom condo and had no investment. Then I moved to Seattle (3 hours from Vancouver), now making 170k USD, owning two real-estate properties. I don't want to move back to Canada anymore, because the life there is very expensive, why do I pay so much tax and still can not have a decent life?

More business investments to Canada not more immigrants
2023-04-26 0
Canada did well during the 2008 financial recession because they didn't have Trudeau and Freeland running the circus.

The US-Canada wage gap hits hard. Americans are becoming meaningfully wealthier than us on a per capita basis, all while their housing prices are significantly lower. We're not that far away from the average American making 50% more than the average Canadian. We're getting poorer and it's like no one is talking about it.
2023-04-25 0
Brain drain is real. Also Canada can't be innovative if they keep raising minimum wage and making the barrier to entry harder for new businesses.

Canada economy if built for the 1970 or 80’s
2023-04-25 0
Let's talk about homelessness and house price in Canada. We see tent cities emerging in Vancouver and Toronto, millennials still living with their parents, the us wins more points in regards of housing price, but noth receive zero points in regards of tackling homelessness

There is absolutely horrible living in Canada. The country is so freaking cold. Home prices are ridiculously high. It takes 20 years or more to save for a 20% down payment on the purchases of homes. High income and consumption taxes make it impossible to save money. Rents are 2/3 of an individual's monthly income. Food costs are very high due to recent inflation. Most Canadians are unable to pay bills more than $500. Yet, Canada wants to attract more immigrants by promoting this country as a nice country to live.

This cartoon fantasy that every single person has the exact same amount of skills to offer and has the same value and rights is destroying places all over the United States and has been and will continue to hurt Canada. You want people to have equal rights until you literally can’t ride your bike to work because of the amount of people on drugs and homeless on the street/sidewalk is to large to even cross by. The drug problem in the United States and in Canada is off the chain out of control and these people that support rainbows and Drake are going to continue to have poor quality of life in their home they have been living and working in. Which is what is really unfair IMO…

Canada has turned into an authoritarian fascist regime. Glad I left.
2023-04-20 0
What is Canada doing right?\nNothing! Trudeau never did anything right… All he knows how to do is spend a lot of money.\nThe quality of Trudeau’s work is very poor! We need him gone!!!
2023-04-20 0
Biggest problem with Canada is the corruption that runs the contry.
2023-04-20 0
I came to Canada in 1978 at that time Canada was ok but not the best now Canada is not the best compare to same African country getting very close, because the high corruption on every level and high taxes

Meh, vanilla analysis that circles around important points but fails to make inightful critiques:\n\nA. “Canadian productivity lags . . . the economy is less productive and innovate than America’s . . . less competitive . . . less capital . . .”, and then finally “banks are prudent, well regulated, and untroubled by excessive competition”!!! Yep, just put it together: Canadian banks (and government policies) have comfortably sedated the economy and populace.\n\nB. 00:09:00 “The fact is, Canada’s dependence on natural resources for economic growth has discouraged investment in other sectors”. Total rubbish! Canada discourages investment generally. Success in natural resources - despite government policy and cultural biases AGAINST them - does not hinder economic development elsewhere. The banks, governments, and degenerate academics in Canada do such a good job screwing everything over that the ambitious leave, thus, as the video observed, the “brain drain” south. You know what’s ONLY thing that cannot leave Canada for the USA? Natural resources!! That’s why natural resource companies endure in Canada, because they have no choice.

Nailed it bro ? we left for Central America, even the cops are nice here, there not extorting you and flexing on you like Canadian goons.fuk Canada.

These people are think living here is going to give them a better way of life only to be fooled. They are going to wish they stayed in there own country we are going broke and no longer respected or recognized as a superpower. Canada will be a better option for these folks.
2023-04-13 0
They can Have them. This has nothing to do with being a refugee they've gone through multiple countries to get to Canada in the United States.

A couple weeks after this they were complaining about how cold Canada is
2023-04-10 0
As a Canadian I find this utterly terrible. These migrants will either add to the chaos of the mass housing crisis, crime and antisocial behaviour Stateside which will ultimately spill onto Canadian borders. We just shut down Roxham road a few weeks ago yet these ILLEGAL ALIANS KEEP CLIMBING ACROSS CANADA US BORDER. CANADIANS AND AMERICANS NEED TO UNITE TO KICK THESE MIGRANTS BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM. WE DONT HAVE HOUSING OR THE SOCIAL ASSISTANCE THEY REQUIRE AND WE DO NOT WANT THEM AS ILLEGALS. IF THEY WANT ENTRY APPLY LIKE NORMAL HUMANS AND STOP ACTING LIKE RATS. IM TIRED OF THESE REFUGEES COMING INTO CANADA TAKING UP ALL MY TAX MONEY YET I, A CANADIAN BORN WHOS FAMILY IMMIGRATED PROPERLY INTO THIS COUNTRY IN THE 1940 HAS TO SUFFER AND TAKE HOME LESS THAN HALF OUR PAY CAUSE TAXES EAT THE REST THAT GO TO THESE IDIOTIC MIGRANTS. I HATE THEM.

Move to Europe and you loose your Canada pension .

Mass rush at southern border-\nLet’s report on a trickle into Canada.
2023-04-06 0
Something is not adding up. People are coming to America, yet others are leaving? I always thought Canada was a great place to raise children. And they really care about their people. In America you are like cattle. The only difference is , is that you don’t walk around with a noticeable tag on your ear, our SS is our tag.
2023-04-05 0
My heart goes out to those in actual need of protection. With that being said this is a country under huge problems of our own, we have homeless Americans, borders are borders for a reason and we wouldnt be able to do that to mexico or Canada so they should respect our borders too. So when they get rounded up and thrown in camps thats the consequence. ?‍♂️?‍♂️
2023-04-05 0
Why would you leave the USA to go to Canada?! I’m trying to leave Canada to the USA!
2023-04-04 0
It seems like you have no real idea of what Canada is like as there are three seasons and the summer is very hot in many areas. The reason more why there is not much population up north in many places is geography as it is very rugged. Like the majority of the Western USA being desert, mountains and scrub. There is also still lots of land around the populated areas and there are 40 million people living there.

You can not find the jobs in Canada. Discrimination is more in Canada as compare to U.S. employers discriminate more and it is subtle and Canadians discriminate very politely.
2023-04-04 1
Well said Saleeha. Fair and balanced. It’s up to the person to decide what suits him. I am considering a move to Canada from the U. Is my circumstances. It might be the opposite for others.

I dont feel sorry for these of people....i have friends who did it the right way, poor and without much means they still did the paper work, interviews, paid their fees, and waited years.....and yeah they made into the US - while others think they can bypass the whole system of law or order and our democracy just bc they are poor. Poverty does not give you the entitled if not demand rights to be in the US or Canada. Not to mention lie about their persecution when others have true tragic horrific stories, and valid reasons to be in the US and Canada. I m not falling for these illegals....do it right. And stop the pity parades and making a mockery of our laws.
2023-04-03 0
Damn criminals. I hope each and every last one gets sent back. Canada is too full with non-canadians already, and violence is at an all-time high. We don't need those scum bags crashing in too!\n\nWhy isn't the boarder police opening fire?!
2023-04-02 0
Enough is enough! These stories of chaos, stresses me out.\nHow on earth are we to handle all these people from Venezuela, Cuba, Central America. Haiti is a lawless place too.\nAll ask for asylum, but that excuse doesn't fit because they aren't being persecuted for religious or political reasons. Asylum laws state the asylum seeker must apply at the first democratic country they arrive at and that's not the US.\nThese are economic migrants and some fleeing drug and domestic violence. \nCanada and the US recently agreed that Canada gets to deport back to the US, any migrant that crosses into Canada from the US....great for Canada but not for us.?\nCanada has a great system with a list of all legal migrants. If you're not on the list, you get no services.\nThe countries that send their people up here are thrilled because the remittances sent back to these countries amount to billions of dollars and props up their economies....US$58.5 billion was sent to Mexico, from migrants in the US! ?
