During the 1930's media in various countries made immigrants and asylum seekers out to be this horrible thing and demonised them. One of themajor rallying calls: immigration. The way media report on this becomes increasingly demeaning and hateful. During the 1930's much of the European media and even as far as the UK was ramping up the scorn against the ever increasing influx of Jewish immigrants coming from Germany. Even into 1944 there was a vast amount of demonisation of them seeking asylum, despite the knowledge by this point that there were horrific conditions in camps where extermination was becoming ever more apparent. The Nazi German government in 1936 passed laws that enabled them to revoke citizenship and stripped away laws on human rights. It would be great to say that these poor souls who were being demonised in their own country were accepted into nations who could see what was going on and who wanted to help, but that just wasn't the way it went. Media played out as it is now, leading to rejection and a greater number of deaths as a result of this. The way the UK government is currently working, it actually sounds like the maxi government of the mid 30's during the time of the Nürnberg laws. \n \nThe world feels far smaller now with double the amount of people and with things like social media playing a huge role in the lives of many. The ease of access to people around the world has made issues seem to stretch to far more countries now, whereas back then it was a time of empires. I get that there will be many here who support Trump, many who support Biden, there will be Brit's who support Sunak and the rather vicious words of Suella Braverman, whilst others will be more on the side of Starmer (I'm well aware of all the other parties but they don't stand to gain as much). There will be French people backing Macron, whilst others back Le Pen. We could go through each country all the way to the battle between Fujimori and Castillo in Perú, and the stories are much the same, but how will history judge us when people look back to this time? Will it be another occasion where we demonised those trying to escape the horror of the place they had the bad luck to be born in whilst we were luckier? \n\nI know there is hardship everywhere. I'm struggling more than most and I know I can't keep living this way. However, I don't want to be a part of history people look back at and say ‘if only they did something to help prevent this.’. I would rather be a part of history people look back upon and say; ‘that was a boring time period where nothing important happened’. It's already too late for that. Instead I try to remember that, though I was born into a family who never really wanted me, I was lucky enough to be born into a country that could support me during the hardest times. When you look at immigrants, remember that every one of us has immigrants in our family tree somewhere.

How to start preparing. \n\nTake three days during the work week and turn off your electric and water. Make do with what you can and write down things you needed and didn't have or tasks that were difficult. After you have this list, research alternatives\nEat, wear and consume cheaper. Choose cheaper meals to create room in your grocery budget to put back food. Wear second hand clothes or put a spending freeze on clothes shopping in order to make room to buy what you'll need for the future (especially if you have small children who grow frequently). This may mean using a crock pot, hang drying clothes, using candles at night and opening windows for sunshine during the day etc. With the wiggle room you've created in those bills you now have some money to buy more food storage, medical supplies or invest in a small solar unit. \nMake an edc bag. This is something you will carry all the time (on your person or in your car) that could provide you with what you and your family need for 3 nights. Think about what you may put into an overnight bag if you were to stay at a hotel. This will ensure even if something happens and you're out you're able to shelter in place \nUnderstand how to take care of medical emergencies at home. Remember that in a major event, ems could be down or unavailable for sometime. While this is never the first line of defense in an emergency, understanding how to manage medical emergencies (high infections, deep wounds, pneumonia, asthma attacks, shock, 2nd and 3rd degree burns, poisoning, radiation sickness, torn ligaments, allergic reactions, excessive bleeding) while you wait on help can be life and death. \n Food, water, temperature control are your highest priorities. If faced with a major event where services are limited for more than 3 days, having stored food as well as a way to cook, a way to filter and store water, and a way to keep yourself cool or warm can be life altering. \n\nPlease remember as we are entering or for some of us are already in uncertain times, having this foundation gives security as well as lowers stress. It allows us to feel more in control and gain a more positive perspective on not only our lives but the world. And my life turned upside down this Friday by illegal immigrants here in Louisiana. They ran a red light, smash my car, totaled it. While running from border patrol and customs. I counted eight people running out of the vehicle and not one gave two shits to check on me, even though I was injured. Seven of them got away the only one they caught was a 14 year old Honduran child that claimed amnesty. So vehicle which they stole, which had stolen license plate, and apparently was full of stolen tools all was seized. The owners will be lucky if they get anything back since it is being held as evidence. I was told by My Attorney chances are my insurance will not pay me in full for my vehicle. Also, I only have a few payments on my car left, and I’m forced to pay it even though now I have no vehicle to get to work, because all my equity is tied up in it, funny thing is I recognize this kid from one of the jobsites down the street. They literally beat me in a bid on. Mind you only buy $400 differences I’m having to pay taxes it’s a joke when you say these people take jobs and no one else wants thing is it’s not jobs no one else wants it’s jobs that have become jobs. No one wants because of the pay continues to fall prices continue to increase, everyone thinks he’s illegal immigrants make no money on these jobsites most of them have nicer vehicles and live in nicer places than the guys I know. The Democrats who are used to vote for because I thought they were for the workingman have completely switched. Their allegiance is to the large corporations that just want to drive down competition and raise their profit margins. They don’t care about America. They want a global economic system in which we have to compete with people that are willing to do the same work as us for a little less because they don’t have to pay what we have to pay and they go back to their countries and live like kings where our dollar buys a lot. They literally use their influence and corruption to take down Trump‘s administration because he was actually doing something about America’s problems. What a damn shame it’s time to change the system. If you’re not voting for a Bernie Sanders or Trump you might as well not voted off because you will get no change. Frankly, I think Bernie Sanders is a terrible choice, but it beats Joe Biden, because at least Bernie Sanders does care. Trump 4 more years!!!!

The cost of living is so low for them that they could afford a future of prosperity or middle class lifestyle in their country of origin. Force their governments to change economically to sustain themselves for their interests. Imposing themselves upon a nation no longer prospering as it did during and after the Industrial Revolution is senseless. There is hardly any upward mobility in blue collar jobs, ever more so in the labor market. If they are not making $40K/year (assuming the majority has not a college degree in something marketable, advanced skills, a tradesman or artisan) then they’re struggling like everyone else in the service industry. Jobs for teenagers, entry level workers, part time jobseekers like for students, people needing extra income cause it’s so expensive in CA, NY, Austin, TX, Chicago or SF living off work entry-level service jobs. Technology has created a shortage or labor gap between unskilled jobs. Jobs that Americans need while pursuing training or technical degrees for the new skilled jobs. \n\nImmigrants do not need to fit the stereotypes of working in the service industry or as farm workers. American citizens can fill these labor positions quite easily. No, immigrants, work visa or not, do not work any harder, smarter, slower or faster than anyone else wanting to work. If someone is motivated to work an unskilled labor job then they will be just as effective as the next person. The HR for these companies definitely virtue signal and satisfy diversity quotas every time they hire someone due to their work status or ethnicity. Everyone and anyone can be replaced and so the question is, who do you, as an employer, want to replace the job vacancy with? Gonna hire cause they are a good fit or because your helping some politicians cause? Gonna grant asylum cause their lives are in danger from a government firing squad or because Biden/Harris will pat you on the back? \n\nThere is reason to illegally enter this country and it is disrespectful, disgraceful, dishonorable, dishonest and disheartening to the ones who are here legally by going through the process like everyone else paying time and money. Yeah our federal governement is soooo generous with our money. Every fake asylum seeker in the world can just come to cross illegally on roxham road and we will take them in, give them a check, emergency housing, a work permit if needed, health care access. I was born in Canada, and lived to see the change from traditional values to this mess...\n\n1 - homelessness\nthe rents and other things went up, and welfare does nt match it. even minimum wage does nt cover it in some cases, \nit s a given that you will finish on the sidewalk, and that does that many will turn to drinking and drugs.\nit will not last long however, as winter comes and there are nt enough shelters, so they conveniently die.\nyou could invest billions, it will not help if you have bad management, you have to dig deeper...\n\n2 - racism\nit s a bit of a backward country in that sense, many rural areas were very late in receiving immigrants,\nso they re not used to see diversity, unlike the US lets say, so there are parts of the country where acceptation\nwill be low, they will discriminate and gossip for sure, but it s more backward as it is racism.\nin time, when they get to know you, it goes away, and they realise how dumb they were.\nI live in Quebec, and you can blame feminism for that, they see Muslims as a symbol of patriarchy and feel threatened.\n\n3 - medical\nit s been like that since about the 90s, again, bad management made the system crash for some reason.\nI admit that I m not sure of what happened exactly there, not enough doctors for sure.\nmaybe it has to do with income, as they can get more revenue in the US or elsewhere.\nI suspect that hospitals s management - administration is too slow and crowded, but I m no expert.\n\n4 - technology\nyeah, well, it s expensive here, cell contracts, internet, probably because of distance, but I suspect\nthat we re being cheated a little too, and since again, we re a bit backward, we re used to the old methods.\nwe re not fast to adopt new trends or fashion either, it s very traditional here mostly.\n\n5 - taxes\nwe have federal and provincial taxes, plus purchase taxes, so yeah, we pay a lot of them.\nexactly, it can vary from 30 - 60% for sure, overtime does nt pay that much, 2 nd jobs can build you a big bill.\nyou re better to save on expenses than trying to earn more, you have to be cheap.\n\n6 - Canadian experience\nI m born here, but I heard of many stories about immigrants s credentials not fitting the local standards.\nin some cases, it sounds ridiculous, and closed minded, not accepting outside concepts and ideas.\nI did nt know about speaking English, but I sure know about French in Quebec...\nhere, it s very insecure about the language, almost paranoid, without speaking French, you will have many troubles.\nagain, it s mostly about bad management, and rules and mentality that self sabotage.\n\n7 - housing\nlike mentioned before, the real estate in general has jumped tremendously.\nI m no financier expert, but an overview of economy tells me that banks compete between countries,\nand they will recourse on artificially inflating the value of real estate, and that plainly kills people.\nthis is the main reason of the homelessness you see on the streets.\nyeah, the soundproofing is quite poor, and some very old buildings can cost a lot in heating.\n\n8 - well, crime is on the rise, and citizens supporting the law and public safety is not very encouraged by the system in place.\nin some way, you re better to shut up than supporting the police... this has to change!\n\n9 - the social services are biased, and impose their vision if you want help.\n\n10 - the mental health policy is too wide, and makes you ill instead of helping.\n\n11 - the pharmaceutical companies are too influencing, and make people sick instead of helping.\n\n12 - the food regulation is lacking, it is not strict enough, allowing chemicals, gmo, and radiation.\n\n13 - feminism is almost radical, especially in Quebec, they segregate genders, and dividing us, it makes the country weak.\n\notherwise, you pretty much covered it well.\n\ngood work sissses.

Canada is not worth coming to if you own a home in your current country and are generally happy, have a decent job and family, don't come here because it will not be easy or better than what you have. You will have to start from nothing, working the worst jobs cleaning hotels and toilets or working minimum wage in a retail store, even if you are a professional in your home country. There is nothing better here, nothing is free unless you come as a refugee. This country is the anti-dream of America. The taxes are very hi, the rent is unaffordable, to buy a house you have to make $200,000k a year, so basically you will be screwed. There is no way to save for retirement in Canada, so don't think life will get easier. In Canada you will get stuck working well beyond your retirement years like into your 70's you will work here until you drop dead. My parents are 70 and still work because they are still paying off their mortgage, while they get retirement $1,300 per month which is the standard is a joke since it doesn't cover the basics, you need $6,000 at least to survive for a month, to buy food, gas for your car, carinsurance, phone bill, utilities, anything else, just the basics. What the government gives you is completely unrealistic to the times, considering the amount of money people pay in taxes you don't get enough during your retirement years, the government has no use for you so they dont care about you when you get old.

First off Canada is not a systemically racist country I’m white I’m also poor and I’ve lived here all my life nearly everyone excluding the native population in a immigrant or a descendant of a immigrant my mom is Portuguese and I also have black family members we are no more racist than anyone else in any other country. Every country has a few homeless people and that number has grown immensely due to poor Liberal government policy when I was young there were maybe one or 2 homeless people in my home town and they were severely mentally Ill homelessness has greatly increased since pm Justin Trudeau has been in power and that’s something I can say I have observed first hand living here in Ontario Canada for 30 years - my entire life. Canadian tax payers don’t want to pay for drug addicts to get more drugs the Liberal Canadian government have set up “safe injection sites” and “ methadone clinics” that basically give these addicts more drugs that are payed for with our tax dollars again these clinics and safe injection sites didn’t exist when I was a kid and since then the number home homelessness has increased as well as the number in population addicted to drugs. My parents had a summer home on the st-lawrence river and every summer we water-ski swam fished, play golf in the morning and barbecues every night right on the water. Even though my grandfather was in the hotel business I was all about sports and enjoying everything about it. I grew up in a town of about 50 thousand about 40 miles from Montreal. When I wanted some great nightlife just drove a short drive to Montreal and it had everything did anyone could want in Nightlife. I have lived in United States for forty years and I can tell you that it really isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Heaven forbid should you get some kind of catastrophic illness you are screwed. I knew a woman who work for travelers insurance for 30 years at the best insurance a money could buy had suffered a couple of strokes and was on the verge of going broke had she not died when she died. People think that insurance continues to pay his long as you're ill and nothing could be further from the truth. This lady was going to have to sell her house to continue paying for round-the-clock care had she not died when she did. United States middle class is getting wiped out. I've seen enough poverty and hardship in this country to last a lifetime. I find greed to be running rampant in this country. When I grew up in Canada there was always the grass is greener on the other side and when I did move over to the other side the US that is I can tell you unequivocally the dead grass is not greener on the other side. There are more millions and millions of people here that are one or two paychecks away from being homeless. And we're talkin 2023. Now let's talk about violence. The reality is that even though you don't see all the homeless people, there are tens of thousands of them in each city, more so in the warmer climates. The UN has already been on Canada's back for the abuse of homeless people and the cruelty towards them and those with mental health problems. Canada is a fraud and has been deceiving immigrants and visitors for over a hundred years. Many of the homeless people in Canada, especially in the past 20 years and from the start of the pandemic, continuing to this day, are now including people with good educations and many years of high-level job experiences, as well as whole families. These people became homeless because of massive job layoffs and lost everything. Contrary to the popular Canadian ideology, homeless people are not lazy slobs who don't bother to work and need to get their acts together. Many of the homeless shelters are filled with dangerous people, bed bugs, and diseases. Many homeless people choose to find alternatives to sleep safely. Many homeless women experience terrible sexual assaults that rarely are reported and rarely ever taken seriously by the police. Most alternatives to shelters are limited and there are so many restrictions that qualifying doesn't always happen. Many have had their ID stolen, so they are unable to get jobs, rent homes, or even have a day to shower and clean their clothes. Most donations of clothes, blankets, and sleeping bags are disregarded because most homeless people don't have the means to carry things. Their nutrition is terrible, through no fault of their own. Many food banks will not give food to those without a home. Many soup kitchens will only help periodically and not for every meal. Canada's treatment of homeless people and mentally people is not just disgraceful, but criminal. The general attitude of many Canadians, as taught to them by deliberate government propaganda, is that if you are poor or were abused or a victim of crime, is that they did something to deserve it. Rents across Canada are beyond the reach of the majority of Canadians, yet, Canada refuses to set up a council house system like the UK. There are no emergency homes and no emergency assistance even close to what the UK and other countries across the world provide. Canada's continued abuse, ill-treatment, crimes against humanity, and genocide of the First Nations peoples is not a past history, but an ongoing history that is not about reconciliation. It is about shutting them up so that they cannot speak and get true justice, instead of just a federal government settlement of a meager amount that has only increased the addictions of victims, who have no one to help them or a place to turn. Canada lies about trauma help and treatment for people for having been victims, or have developed PTSD (this is a brain injury and only a mental health problem if the person becomes suicidal or is unable to do the basics of essential living), and worse, Canada lies about this in relation to kids. Alberta has a place that they claim is for treating trauma in kids. However, this place is nothing more than a low-level counseling center to reunite kids with their parents, who have been removed by law. Any child requiring help has to deal with just basic counselors, who are not trained in helping traumatized and PTSD kids. In relation to the First Nations peoples, if the teens have mental health issues, and if they have to be temporarily hospitalized by their parents, social workers and doctors will force joint custody with the parents, to treat the kids or remove them so they can carry on the government's crimes against the First Nations peoples. The crimes continue. In these past few months, a baby was left to die in a basket at a nurse's station in the Misericordia Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta. The mother was allegedly treated like garbage and her child was allegedly called a specimen. But this is not the only case of such abuse of First Nations pregnant mothers and their children. A case over a decade ago allegedly also took place, and the number of these cases in this hospital alone may possibly be much higher, and other hospitals may also be hiding such crimes. An infant, who was the victim of attempted murder by one or the other parent, was put in the care of relatives by social workers, who were totally unaware of the crime, but the one parent, who was put in the hospital's mental health unit, mentioned a version of what had happened, and when the relatives found out, they were allegedly reassured by the hospital that they would deal with the matter. The relatives believed, understandably, that the hospital would report the crime, but it never did. Allegedly the hospital covered up yet another crime. The police in the city, allegedly informed at some point, one of the relatives that no charges could be laid even if the child remembered as the Canadian health services do not believe that children below the age of 4 can remember anything. It was when I heard about this that I realized that the reason Canada has gotten away with the crimes against the 1st Nations, immigrants, Canadians, and who knows how many other victims, through the mandated alleged use of forced assimilation and the alleged Soviet-style education system, is because of this fake claim that children and even infants cannot remember things. I remember watching this video in 2021 and thinking that the higher taxes are worth it because you are essentially buying safety. Sir I have shifted to UK ..around 5 months ago...I spent around 12 years in Saudi arabia before.\nThe main difference between our country and this country is the PEOPLE.\nIts not the prices..the money etc that makes you feel better. I was earning good in saudia as well but here...its the people..that make you feel better.\nWe booked a hotel here for quarantine and the Pakistani agent who paid for us by a credit card used a fake card number or what. We received a letter from the govt about 2285 pounds due to be paid. Of course thats alot of money for new comers...and as you said there was no payment plan or anything discussed in the letter.I called them back and the first thing they asked me was Are you alright right now? Do you need anything from us? And that was...an experience I never had before in my life. Then they discussed the way outs for the dues.\nSame goes for the jobs..the positions..the hiring...not the SAUDI/AJNABI shit going on at all ! Or the bribes we have to pay in Pakistan to get a basic job !\nThe difference in HUMANITY is big sir...among our countries and these. This is just un doable now. This is my true story of a horrific experience that happened to me on renting apartments in Montreal, i had to look for a new apartment to rent due to having to leave my apartment i was at due to fire damages that was caused by another tentant in apartment complex,anyhow i soon there after found a new apartment,this new apartment was renting for $1100.00 it had just been renovated and really nice and clean,however my horrific experience was just about to get much worse,just at the time the covid19 outbreak came around i was settling into my new apartment and really happy i had found a new place,so i thought...i soon began feeling very sick in this apartment and i kept trying to figure out why i was feeling this way,well to cut my true story short,i found out after 5 months and becoming really sick that there were drug dealers who had set up a meth lab in an apartment agent to my mine and the fumes from cooking there meth drug had been seeping into my apartment getting me very sick, still today i have lingering horriffic symptoms do to this meth poisoning, i have seen doctors and explained to them about my bad experience,i have persistance symptoms of lung problems, sinuses and bad headackes which start in this place,i found out the chemical these drug dealers were using to cook this meth was called Ether which is a mix of sulfuric acid and alcohol along with other very toxic dangerous chemicals,however the Ether chemical mix has a very sweet smell not a bad smell which is very deceiving to the sense of smell leaving you thinking how wounderful the air smells around,if you`ve rented you know there are all kinds of smells around,however it was to late by then ,how i found out it was a meth lab is a long story,i had been poisoned really bad but just as bad as getting sick is that when there is meth contamination that seeps into apartments,everything becomes contaminated,i mean everything,from cloths to furniture,tv bed,the smallest objects everything,i couldn`t take anything with me due to meth residue contamination,meth lab spores are really bad,they will linger in everything for years continue making one sick and very hard to wash or get rid of,i had to dispose of everything i had,thousands of dollars lost,all my belongings,it was horrible so horrible,the land lord had no idea this was going on in his building only later to know,also from what i have found out is that these dangerous meth lab apartments are common,i rent from a friend now and will never again rent from others,i still am sick with long lasting bad symptoms fearing for my health ,so i say Renter beware.
