Trump is only setting up U.S.A to be the whole world enemy. Imagine these South America and Central America countries expelled America Military Bases and allow Russia and China to open bases all their missles points at us. Congress do something about Trump before it is too late.

China slapped bans on just about all Australians goods a few years ago. It was a wake up call for Australia as they realised they had relied too heavily on the Chinese market. So they found new export markets for their products. China, meanwhile experienced power shortages and realised they actually did need Australian coal. They have dropped all the tariffs and Australia is no longer putting all their eggs in one basket. The same will happen with US tariffs. Exporters will find new markets. The US will pay more or miss out.

The US is going to be pretty lonely until they join China, Russia and North Korea.

Just be aware, tariffs only hurt importers in the country that's utilizing them against another country. Meaning the US is going to get hurt by this along with Colombia. Importers take the hit and then they drive up the price on goods coming in. Meaning inflation increases even more. He's going to wreck the economy if he continues throwing out tariffs like candy. Colombia is likely going to join BRICS from this and will trade primarily with China.

May God help them find a way in South America. The USA has many issues that we need to address to progress our government systems. This is a distraction from a much greater problem in this nation because China is far advanced economically. It’s a whole new world over there whiles this country is pledge with the effects or racism and classism. Eventually there will be no middle class. I always keep upto date with FP news but this was so biased and failed to address the issue fully and accurately. Firstly, the economy of India or the foreign policies of India has little to do with the power of the Indian passport. According to that logic US, China and Russia should be the top 3 in the passport ranking - but it is not. @3:35 The logic is visible and the west does not need to explain it. It is the quality of the people visiting the western countries. There is a significant number of Indian citizens who would migrate without the intention to return. This fact unfortunately affects everyone holding an Indian passport. FP also needs to see that middle class in India is not at a middle class standard worldwide. I presume those countries which has slightly stronger passport than India has populations which are a tiny fraction of those wanting to travel with an Indian passport.

An average Canadian after compulsory deductions and rent ends up with only 10% as disposable income. In the great capitalist nation of USA after compulsory deductions and rent an average American has 30-40 % income. In addition due to the socialism our per capita income is only 72% of the great capitalist nation of USA. This implies that for every disposable dollar an American has we have only 25 cent. I doubt whether tourist visas are rejected. Has anyone done an analysis of student visa rejection? Most students travel to study in no name colleges with no value of degrees. These colleges are also scams. its because they are racist... imagine US, UK, etc grants no visa on their former enemies (like Japan) but demands for visa entry for their former colonies? you cant deny that these former imperialists sees former colonized countries as lint and does not contribute to their economy.... they stole billions of dollars in the past and at they could've grant visa free entry to their former colonies as a way of compensation to the damages that they've made in the past but they didnt.. and when war broke up, they'll ask from these former colonized countries for some soldier to be on the frontline for them because they were allies.. until now they still do some exploits to colonized counties in some other way like establishing manufacturing plant or some establishment hiring cheap labor from these countries, and when you want to visit to these counties they will automatically deny you.. On some point, China gives a better option. They will welcome you with open arms (although they will take advantage of you) but at least you can visit their country easily.

For Indians, there are 2 key reasons. I travel so much and live away, so I can say this- 1. The growing jealousy on India and the fact most western countries do not want Indians. China is doing it behind the back wherever they can. The second and equally important is the our behavior and arrogance as Indians when we travel and when we stay abroad. We really irritate and upset people around us.

Trump is such a dumbass. He thinks the tariffs will be paid by exporting countries like Mexico, China, and Canada. The Trump tariffs will be paid by American manufacturers and American consumers. Everything is about to become a lot more expensive in the US, especially with a 25% tariff on the 4.5 million barrels of oil Canada ships to the US every day. At best, inflation becomes a bigger problem, and Americans lose their jobs. At worst, Trump's tariffs cause a made in America recession.

As a Canadian, I see the relationship with Trump as very toxic. Not long ago, we detained under house arrest Meng Wanzhou (Huawei exec) at the request of Trump. He used her as a bargaining chip for trade between the US and China. Remember that? Canada had to do it (to show others that we keep our word when it comes to treaties). In the end, he cancelled the request, after several years and 2 Canadians being arrested in retaliation by China. So we degraded OUR relationship with China... and for what? The whims of an Orange man. \n\nAnd now we are at it again. Trump is playing Canada against Mexico! I trust Mexico more than I trust Trump's America. And Mexico's incoming President is far more intelligent, and comes across with much more integrity than Trump ever will. WAKE UP, CANADA, US and MEXICO! Canada seriously needs a country cap for immigration, like the US does. In 2023, there were 139k new permanent residents from India, compared to the second largest which was china at 31k. This is not normal

The slogan “Make America Great Again” is very nostalgic, but times are different. If the US imposes these tariffs, it will be to the benefit of China. When American products were undoubtedly superior to the rest of the world, imposing tariffs did not work in the 1970s. Today, it would become less competitive, there is very strong international competition and Chinese products would benefit. To make America great again, we must look to the future, not the past.

US trade with China is now only 16% of Chinese exports. Trump no longer has the leverage he had in his first term, and China has learned not to trust any agreements wth the USA because the US always breaks them, particularly Trump. From this point forward, every agreement will be transactional. If Trump goes over the top with tariffs on China, Mexico and Canada it will trigger an inflationary spiral that harms US consumers and an economy already in debt. Voter remorse will be swift.

Balance of Trade deficit: US import more goods from China. Tariffs on goods coming from China will be passed on to consumers thru increased prices.

China is using Mexico to avoid paying the US to have their merchandise cross the border. The Central Bank of Canada should reduce US Treasury Bill purchases. Mexico should do the same. China already has significantly offloaded US debt. When a Country weaponizes its dollar, it’s time to part with it.

People don't understand, when we buy their goods it grew their economy because our currency is higher then the rest of the world, if they want to buy from us they spend millions on it that is why they trade with Chinese in buying. There are about 2 million estimated Americans living in Mexico currently. They may be forced out too in response. President Sheinbaum just met with China's president last week as well. not to mention China's in-roads and developing relations with so many central and south American countries. Not to mention Brazil is the B in BRICS which is now roughly 1/2 the world's population and produce more GDP than the G7 for the first time ever. God help us is Saudi joins them. That is where most of oil prices are determined also since our refineries are not setup to refine domestically produced oil (it is the wrong type) and it would take decades and billions to convert. Not to mention costly and owned by multi-national corporations. And forcing them do so amounts to semi state-control and is a communist ideal. They are capitalist institutions and are only beholden to shareholders. And those shareholders are not voting to take a loss.
