Don't listen to that garbage right winged fox media. Canada was dealing with this well before Trump took office again. As a Canadian, I can tell you our government failed us too. We took in well over 5 million immigrants (documented and undocumented) over the past 3 years. Like New York, many of our cities are overwhelmed with this influx. We don't even have the resources to track down expired visas, overstays, or asylum cases. Last year our government admitted there was a problem and decided to start taking action. The biggest issue is people claim to be tourists with no intent of leaving. The Canada US border is far stronger than our international one.

We have our own housing shortage that needs to be addressed for existing Canadians who are struggling. I'm glad we are taking a pause and redifining the structure of how and who we receive into Canada. Until we sort out the housing crisis, which is in every major city, there simply aren't enough homes to help those in need and address newcomers who aren't financially self sufficient. If those immigrating to another country, they should provide their new country with their own financial means of support, or be of a profession that is in demand, the sooner they get jobs and pay into the system, the better.

Immigrants fly to Montreal posing as tourists. The airport border patrol officer welcomes them with a smile, wishes them a nice vacation and stamps their passport. The northern border is too sparsely populated to police it. In New Hampshire, we recently spent about $500K for additional border security. It was for a few police officers and some equipment to patrol in bad weather and rough terrain. The police have typical police duties too. This winter has been brutally cold so people risk their lives come from Canada this winter.

Basically, for the past four years, Biden, Harris and the Democrat Party have spent hundreds of billions of US tax dollars flying illegal immigrants in and basically leaving America’s borders in Mexico and Canada wide open to mass illegal immigration. Just within the past two weeks FEMA spent over $500 million to provide luxury hotels for illegal immigrants yet a few weeks ago they were still claiming that they didn’t have enough money to help American citizens who suffered catastrophic loss during recent hurricanes and wildfires. The simple fact that Democrats got more upset that Elon Musk bought Twitter than they are, that their own political party in government for the past four years, has literally been holding them at gunpoint and forcing them to pay taxes so that they could steal it or launder it into their own campaigns and pockets is literally disturbing! WTF!!!! If any of those other federal agencies are ran or funded the way U.S. AID were, with the massive corruption, misappropriation, fraud and theft of taxpayer funds, then I hope DODGE goes through an completely audits, every single federal agency in the United States. No wonder the Democrats are freaking out the way they are, if the Republicans got caught this bad with their hand in the taxpayer cookie jar, then you know the Democrats would be screaming a different tune. It's why i prefer to be happy in the United States of living in. I no longer wish to go to Canada to live. The anti-immigrant sentiment in Canada has become the worst, more so than what is now with Donald Trump in the United States. A new prime minister in Canada should be elected and governing.

Well nothing like that, I live in Canada and can verify that. Problem is quality of immigrants, especially student is trash in Canada, Australia and Europe. They come to shady universities for studies, work full time both legally and illegally rather than studying and at end of their education, they have a fake degree with zero value. Just like most of the new graduates in India who have a degree with no practical value. \nIf you have a good degree, right skills in tech and some experience, there are tons of opportunities in Canada. I cuss Canada everyday but that's because I lived 10 years of life - studies and work in USA. So whether I move to Canada or any other country in the world, I would do the same as US has no equal in the world. I lived in US for 10 years, then India for 3 years and came to Canada 3 years back. I would still move to India after getting Canadian citizenship, but not because Canada has something bad or India has something exceptional to offer, but because I want to live with my parents in India. Thats the reason I left US but came to Canada to get a backup.

The problem is throughout the Anglo World, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, we are allowing millions of immigrants from the third world, when in fact if AI is going to take 70/80pct of jobs in the future we do not need immigrants from the third world at all. The fewer people we have, the more wealthy we are. The other problem is allowing immigrants from non-compatible cultures of people who do not share our values, culture, religion, or way of life, they generally live in their own areas, speak their own language, and do not/cannot integrate into society, most consider themselves as Indian, not Canadian because like for instance in the UK where we have similar or worse problems, they can never be English, or Scottish, or Welsh or Northern Irish. We are not and never have been nations of ''communities'', we are Canadian, American British, and Australian, but we are all connected in our Judeo-Christian roots, values, culture, and way of life, the vast majority of these third-world immigrants can never be part of what we are. That causes resentment, even jealousy, and one day it will end badly

The post-war world order is now over. It's time for Canada to drop out of NATO and NORAD (what is the point of a defensive strategic alliance with the only country in the world that is openly threatening you with annexation?) and expel all American military and government personnel in the country. Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea etc need to form a new strategic and economic bloc oriented toward the goal of breaking America, just as we did with the Soviets when they were the largest threat to global peace and prosperity. Sadly, it is more likely that we will allow the Americans to divide and conquer us... literally!

Canada needs to get all new trading partners, they need to look to Europe, Asia, and other countries. There are other markets out there, especially in the EU, where they are no longer getting energy from Russia. If Canada shows any weakness Trump will hit Canada even harder, the only why Canada stays strong and comes out ahead, is to be strong. Canada will suffer for a while, but with new trade partners, Canada will be much better off.

I am a Canadian in Alberta and the reality is that the Liberals have weakened the Canadian economy and our standing in the world. Their decision to cripple our oil and gas industry and our lack of ability export our products elsewhere in the world is an issue created by the policies of the Liberals. To impose a carbon tax and further weaker the average Canadian is terrible. There are some policies I don't like out of the U.S. but the reality is that it is never an idea to pick a fight with the toughest kid on the block knowing you will lose. Trump doesn't even want the tariffs he wants Canada to pull it's weight in defense spending and cooperation. Trudeau backstabbed Trump in the past and that won't be forgotten. We need a new government with a leader that understands more than being a drama teacher and snowboarder. Unfortunately, most of the significant issues Canada faces is the result of self inflicted wounds resulting from incompetent leadership. We didn't have anywhere close this level of issues with the Harper government. We are lucky to have the U.S. as a neighbor so let's do what is good for both nations but there is no way the woke Liberal's can do it.

I'm from eastern EU. I hope EU can make an improved trade agreement with Canada. One that will last future decades. \n\nThey are a reliable partner. My country (Romania) has been using Canadian CANDU nuclear tech for our reactors since the 1970s and we are collaborating again for other new reactors. This is what governments want : stable democracies + reliable partners. Canada has both.

For the vast majority of Americans, including Trump who don't know this: \n- 90% of all aluminum used in the USA comes from Canada. \n- 80% of the potash used to grow food on US farms comes from Canada. \n- Steel is made in Canada. - Uranium is exported from Canada. \n- Minerals needed for electronics are exported from Canada. The only alternatives are China and Russia. \n- 60% of all imported oil in the US comes from Canada. \n- Electricity produced in Canada is delivered to the states of New York, Vermont, Maine and over 20 other US states. We’ll soon find out if convicted felon Trump and his supporters need Canada when that electricity gets turned off. If Trump can rip our mutually-negotiated agreements so can Canada. We did not ask for this economic war nor did we start it. Trump did. \n \nIt's also time to super-tax every pound of US coal being exported through Roberts Bank Super-port in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. The American coal exported through Roberts Bank does not even pay a provincial carbon tax like all BC residents pay. Canadians are about to show Trump what happens when you consistently lie and stab your best customer and neighbour in the back. We are not afraid of Trump. Canada is the second-largest country in the world by land area and we have the longest coastline in the world, with over 243,000 kilometers of shoreline. We will continue expanding our trade with Pacific Rim countries, Europe, Mexico and beyond. They all need and want our lumber, minerals, oil and gas, grass fed beef, and the dependable, respectful trading partner that we are.

WoW talk about biased, we have specific reasons for these tariffs, Trudeau is irrelevant and the Mexican presidents have always had their strings pulled by the cartel. Its why the U.S. is pushing these tariffs. Mexico needs to cooperate with the U.S.. Canada will do so once the new PM is in. Its already Check Mate. These retaliatory moves by Canada and Mexico are just for show. They have no real pull. Period.

As Trump has said he would do is make Canada pay for their own air and ground defense of their nation. For too long Canada has taken advantage of a free halo above their country complete with military hardware from the US. Once Canada is forced to provide monies to maintain and buy updated/new equipment the US will hammer them again. Canada doesn't make anything the US can't make themselves.

Here in BC our government just passed an initiative to open up new manufacturing capabilities to produce former imported US goods here in BC. Canada/US trade will never reach the same level it has previously established. Trump promised retaliatory tariffs in response to Canada's tariffs. So what will the new tariffs be: 50%? USA will be hurt by Canadian tariffs, but given its smaller economy, in four years, Canada will be economically destroyed by US tariffs. Canadian dollar, which is 1.45 to the US dollar, may soon rise to 1.8-2.0, and Canada's leading bankers have said that Canada is looking at high interest rate and recession.

Canada needs to find new markets. Decoupling from the IS economy should be the future goal.

Canada will continue to trade with Mexico, the European Union, the UK, Australia, South Korea, India ( which is the worlds largest population) and the list goes on and on. I can’t find the proper words to describe how I’m feeling about the life in Canada! I feel extremely disappointed and angry. I feel that this country becoming a dump with an unbearable quality of life. I am feeling mostly depressed and feel no joy due to current conditions and limited opportunities here. I simple cannot even stand it any more and can’t wait when I would be able to find a new place of my residence outside of Canada!

Canadians have been left behind by their own country in favour of Indians. Canada as we know it is done, it is in severe decline and the quality of life of all Canadians has suffered from this influx. At old age homes, Canadians are being passed up and made homeless in favour of new immigrants (all Indians), all low income jobs have been taken by Indians, locals youth can't get jobs. Indians are super racist towards white or latino people (like me), and they are not taking up Canadian customs and manners. Canada is being ruined by Indians. Canadians have been left behind. 1 in 6 people globally are indian. Their breeding is out of control, and they ALL want to come here for free healthcare, hand outs and fresh water. I mean, look what they've done to India, Canada is next. It is all ready in severe decline, and quality of life is at the lowest ever because of this.

I have heard Indians (from India) refer to Canada laughingly as The New India. They come in and take over the tech markets whilst employing their own with the best jobs. Go into these companies and see for yourselves...about 85% Indians via Indian recruiters. And then they act as though nothing is out of place as they replace everyone.
