You being shocked that gun violence in schools is this much of a sticking point for Canadians, but consider in Canada we don't have:\n- Metal detectors in schools\n- Armed school guards\n- Active shooter drills\n- Even the discussion of gun training for teachers\n\nI can understand we humans can get used to anything and don't see it anymore. But any of those things in a major culture shock for people outside the US.

It depends upon where in the US. You couldn't pay me enough to move to CA, NY, or IL. However, if I had a job offer and could get a green card, I would move to FL or TX in a heartbeat. My friend and his wife have been looking at houses in FL near Tampa. They are almost half the price of what they are in London, ON. As far as shootings, these people forget about the shootings and stabings in Canada. A mother of two was shot in what some think may have been a turf fight between two drug dealers, and she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. In Vancouver, a father was stabbed to death in front of his family at an outdoor cafe. At least in the US, you can protect yourself. In Canada it is illegal to have mace, or pepper spray, let alone carry a gun around.

In Canada we also have work heath insurance wich pays for everything. Medicare pays for what is not covered by those plans and also pays for people who don't have private insurance. So, of course while you work you get excellent coverage spread between public and private clinics. And when you don't work it just takes more time to get looked at in the public system.

In Canada, we report a lot of American news as well. All the time we hear about mass shootings happening in the United States.

The only good reason to move to the US is money. It’s a great country for making money if you have the skills or talent. Other than that Canada is a much better country to live in IMHO and there is more to life than money.

While you may not like the school shooting comment, as of data from 2020, the US child death rate by firearms was 5.8 / 100,000 population. Compared to the next country in the world (Canada at 0.8 deaths / 100,000). Also, the death by firearms is now the leading cause of death for children in the USA, more so then even motor vehicle deaths... which is absurd. Sorry but the USA has a serious gun problem, and more of them is not the solution. Btw, a proud Canadian here, who has travelled and worked extensively across the US. I def. would not live long-term in the US.

The cost of living in the world is outrageous as it is!!! I couldn’t imagine having to budget in a bulletproof, backpack and bulletproof vest as school supplies on top of everything else because idk about y’all but I wouldn’t buy them at Walmart or Kmart hahahah! And fyi Canada isn’t as accepting as the propaganda makes it seem! The idea people have is what I like to call a maple washed idea that the media puts out there

As a quebecoise, canadian french, I think we're still far from all problems in the USA. But we shouldn't forget that there are 300 millions more american people than us, canadians. The more we'll grow as population, the more problems of all kinds will follow. So no, i would never move to USA, it's a fact, but I think it's a little unfair to compare both countries. Plus, Canada tends to be more and more influenced by USA and their politics... And we're no safe anywhere in the world. There are not a lot of them, yet, but still, we've got also few mass violence shootings increasing for more than 10 years now. It exists here too. Nothing happens in a small village because we don't expect it to happen most of the times. But as beautiful as Canada may look, I can tell you it will never be the same again. The only thing we can do is enjoy it while it lasts. And no, Tyler, you're nothing average! :)

I am canadian and have my hunting guns..shotgun/winchester/22...if i lived in the us i would add others..not for hunting but protection..up here we buy guns for hunting and targets..us seems different from canada..perhaps because they had to rise up and fight for freedom..we became canada over dinner and drinks and a bit of ink! From your comments, i hear that you feel safe because your health insurance is purchased through your employer. How safe is your health care if you loose your job? In Canada, we still get health care. Our heath care is covered through our taxes. Like road upkeep, schools etc.. Even our ambulace care cost will be covered, if you can not afford it. But, what happens when you reach retirement? Is your health care free? I understand people in the US work way passed retirement age just to have health care. So unfair.

Something americans probably dont realize is that american news in canada is almost exclusively negative (mass shooting/trump is evil/loss of abortion rites/cops killing plack people/white supremacists/etc/etc) and borders on propogandist. I personally would in a second. \nI have lived in both countries and hands down it's better living down there. \nExperience living in multiple cities in multiple states.. and living in basically every major city and a lot of small towns in Canada.. I know 100% Canada is not as good as the states. \nAs a Canadian I can say Canada is not what people think it is... they think it's so much better here when they sy that because it's safer.. not better..not remotely.. we are so restricted here to do anything.. own land. .. grate now build something on it. Have fun. Years and thousands just to get a house approved.. the restrictions American people don't have make it that much better. \nFirearms.......... \nI've lived in so called bad areas in the states and honestly I've had way more nonsense happening in good areas in Canada. \nThe states have there downsides but overall way way better. \nMy next plan in Utah or Arizona..

I wouldn’t move to the US and the medical is only the second reason my number one reason is your lack of freedom. For instance I have always had cats, at this moment I have three cats who are my pride and joy, two of them even go out for walks with me in a pet stroller and even came with me yesterday to the Scottish festival in my neighbourhood and the problem with moving to the US is Landlords can tell you that you have to get rid of your pets were here in Canada, in my part of Canada anyway it is going against your rights to tell you you can’t have your pet and there is no way in hell I would get rid of my cats they are my family and my only family so because of that I would not move to the United States

I feel so strongly about family safety, we stopped even visiting the US in the 80’s. If forced to leave Canada, I would live anywhere but the US. Canada is where I feel safe and I never once had to worry if I sent my kids to school, would I ever see them again.

I moved to the USA for 15 years for work - but when I got the opportunity to return home, I took it. A lot of Canadians have to go south to get career opportunities that just don't exist in Canada.

For the healthcare part, I didn't know that there is a shortage of service providers, because for almost 40 years I have been living in Canada, I could not remember my waiting time for the service, except in emergencies. Which don't give me a minute waiting time anyway.\n\nThe reason is I take advantage of free online healthcare education. The very same stuff the doctors need to update their knowledge. And I use food and healthy lifestyle as medical treatments. So, I survive with sickness including cancer and contagious illness from pandemic.

Forget parents, even many immigrants are unhappy in Canada. Every time I run into an Indian who has studied or lived in US he is frustrated. 2 people in my team received their Canadian citizenship and have started trying for positions in US. 3 white Canadians in our company moved to US in last 2 year itself.\nCanada is not a great country from parents. It's cold, white and depressing throughout. Many parents can stay for relatively longer in California or Texas where there is vibrant community and weather is very much like India. I lived for 10 years of life in snow before moving to Canada - Massachusetts, North Carolina and Virginia. I just 2 winters, I feel depressed in Canada as it's white for 4 to 5 months.

Having lived in most provinces and visited dozens of cities such a Yellowknife (in December) I love all of them. Though I have a secret passion for Montreal it's by far the most cosmopolitan city in all of Canada. Yes Canada does have winter months where they are most severe in the northern cities. When you add it up it's how the people interact in a friendly manner which is why I feel best in Montreal.

All these reasonings are pretty tame ngl. It's just 1st world problems after 1st world problems. Even the speed limit thing. There's nothing wrong with 50 even if it should be 70. You know, I agree on that, that there are times when the road is so empty I want to go past the speed limit. But the thing is, that's just a luxury. I can stay on 50 and I'll lose at most 2 minutes on a 20 minute drive. Boo hoo.\n\nBut hey, you seem to like your new place a lot, so good for you. That's all that really matters. You don't seem like a bad guy, just uneducated. In the end, Canada just wasn't your preference. You think that people should be allowed to drink beer outside, but you only say that because you don't know what it was like when people drank beer outside. There's a reason that rule was made and it's because people aren't responsible to hold their own in that part of Canada that you lived in. And the part of Europe you're living in can have beer outside because they can hold their own and not get in trouble.\n\nRules don't just get made up, remember that. Nice video, yet I find that you talk a lot about number differences with the USA and other countries and fail to explain how these differences are lived inside Canada. \n\nAfter lockdowns, I left the urban centres of the Quebec-Windsor corridor to settle in maritime Canada, and life here is very unique. \n\nFog, snow, rain, winds, ice, fires, every thing is very local. The closest chain restaurant like Tim Hortons is more than 1hour away by car. Anyday the roads can be closed, the ferries cancelled, isolating tens of thousands of people. Although most Canadians live in large urban centres, and don't have to deal with these issues, there is still a large population living in radically isolated areas.

Both nations have their pros and cons (and unsavory pasts), but I find modern day Canada to be a more humane country and Canadians to be more level-headed and educated. Food quality is better and when I visit there I feel more relaxed (less worried about gun crime and violent crime overall).
